A big tourist attraction to come for photos. The view of The Brooklyn Bridge & Manhattan Skyline is spectacular. Especially at Night. The cobblestone street and fancy area of New York. Surround around restaurants, beautiful art and stores to shop. Historical and the architectural is stunning.

One of the most iconic locations in Brooklyn next to the Brooklyn Bridge. You see this place in so many movies, the pictures do it no justice. You must see it in person. Please be aware that this is a huge tourist trap. So you will be surrounded by people from all over the world. Trying to capture this shot. But do not worry you'll be able to get your selfie. Everyone is so friendly you can ask anyone to take your picture. Enjoy!

Iconic spot to take the picture. So happy we could get a good click. It is best to visit early in the morning as it gets crowded later during the day.

2025: alot of tourist but now area has seating and some raised platforms for tourists to take pictures to.

DUMBO stands for Down Under Manhattan Bridge OverPass. It is most popular for the iconic photo spot on Washington St between Plymouth St and Water St. If you like the photo I took, you can go to this coordinate: 40.70 N, 73.99 W. We came specifically to take this photo, but discovered there were other wonders in the area. There are a lot of photo opportunities, restaurants, and landmarks in the area. On our plane ride home, I saw this carousel with the Brooklyn bridge in a few movies. They also have the Time Out Market with plenty of food options, and a stunning rooftop to explore. There's so much to do and take photos of and explore in the area. We came a little later in the evening, but I imagine it would have been even more lively in the daytime. Highly recommend trekking to this area for my fellow travelers.

Beautiful view of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan skyline! There are a few stores and restaurants - very popular photo spot - walking distance to brooklyn bridge entrance.

Dumbo is always busy as it provides a beautiful view of the Manhattan Bridge. There is plenty to do in the area and we felt safe during the time we visited. I've been able to visit during the night time and during the day time and I got to say that my favorite time has been at night. So beautiful.

There is just something so fun and iconic in Dumbo. It may just be a photo op spot for many but truly memories are made here as well. Even though ive been here a good number of times I still enjoy taking in the scenery here as well as getting some shots. If youre not into photos there are a shops, other sight seeing areS and restaurants nearby as well so there really is something for everybody.

Love this place. Good time visit early morning. Nice and quiet. You would appreciate the beauty of this bridge.

We wanted to explore the Dumbo area so we took a ferry from Manhattan to check it out. Cute little town where you have nice views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. We opted to make a quick stop for some pizza to reenergize before taking a walk across Brooklyn bridge. There is also an iconic photo op to see the Manhattan bridge in between the buildings.

I discovered DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) during my experience running the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon which took us over the bridge, and down under the bridge. However, it was not until I visited Brooklyn for a yelp event that happened to be in DUMBO when I made it a priority to visit the site without the addition of running, * wink *. DUMBO sat only .6 miles away from my hotel located in Downtown Brooklyn. I just could not resist smiling once I locked my eyes on the Manhattan Bridge from a distance upon my arrival at my hotel, the Hampton Inn Brooklyn/Downtown because I anticipated taking in the beauty of the landmark. As a first-time visitor to the area, it was fun locating the restaurant I intended to visit for the yelp event and getting sidetracked by the beauty of the area. I clocked extra steps, which likely was a good thing because I noticed the tightness of my jeans during the walk; and let me tell you this! The tightness isn't from all the Peloton bike rides I have done since being in New York City, it is from the food, tehehe. I encountered many individuals in the area capturing pictures of the landmark, and pictures of themselves with it in the background which appeared so gorgeous, and larger than life. The infrastructure is hard to ignore along with the cobblestone streets in the area which add a classy appeal; it will certainly take your breath away and give you a different view of Brooklyn. Each time I visit New York City, I fall in love with it more, but after visiting DUMBO, I just could not get the view of the area out of my mind. Post leaving the area, I found myself identifying potential restaurants that will lure me back out to the area again. If you are looking for trendy spots to visit while visiting the borough of Brooklyn, then look no further than DUMBO. ~Have courage. Be Kind. ~ Thomas G

This is a picture perfect spot. Such a beautiful view. I'm so thankful it has been shared with the masses and I hope the locals don't mind us. Can be reached on public transportation and a little walk.

Walk over the Brooklyn Bridge and you will be in the trendy section of Dumbo ( Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) with its cobblestone streets, great little restaurants, and some really cool shops. Beautiful views of the Manhattan Skyline. This historic area was once industrial and has transformed into a vibrant community with trendy boutiques, art galleries, cafes, and parks. Saturday and Sunday from 10-5 there's a nice outdoor market. If you don't want to walk the bridge it's easily accessible by Subway.

Completed in 1883, this suspension bridge with its visually familiar stone arches has been featured in many Hollywood blockbusters including: Spider-Man, The French Connection, Enchanted, Sex and the City, I Am Legend, Cloverfield, Godzilla, Deep Impact, Moonstruck, and Sophie's Choice. Fun fact: in order to prove its safety, P.T. Barnum once crossed the bridge with 21 elephants. Today, this bridge averages nearly 29K pedestrians and over 103K vehicles PER DAY. Although I've been in NYC a handful of times, I've only ever walked across this bridge once in my life. Started on the Manhattan side and made my way over to Brooklyn, before walking it back over to Manhattan. All in, took me about 20mins with multiple stops for photos. On both ends of the bridge, you'll find a variety of merchants hawking their goods. Although there is substantially more on the Manhattan side than Brooklyn. A lot of the vendors will carry the same goods, but the prices are not all made equal. I recommend walking a bit deeper in if you spot something you like to see if you can find it cheaper. You can always double back if you cannot find it again. The pedestrian promenade is pretty wide and accommodates a pretty heavy flow of foot traffic, with plenty of room to stop to take pictures. And speaking of pictures, you'll definitely be treated to gorgeous, unobstructed views of the Lower Manhattan skyline and the East River walking in either direction. There is also separate protected bicycle path which is great in preventing collisions between pedestrians and cyclists. Come here on a beautiful day like I did and enjoy the extra cardio while soaking up the view. It's definitely worth it and something you should do at least once when visiting NYC.

It's one of the most iconic structures in the world. The architecture and infrastructure of this bridge are mind-blowing. As others have mentioned, it takes a good 30 minutes to walk and it goes by quickly. Don't hesitate to do it. Walk the bridge! It's a bucketlist item for sure.

(It was under my leg. Typical.) I originally came here to get some work done, but that plan derailed when I got distracted by a group of people practising acrobatics on the lawn. Watching someone casually flip through the air while you struggle to open a granola bar puts things in perspective. They fell a few times, laughed it off, and tried again--like failure wasn't even a thing to consider. I respect that. One day, a woman with calloused hands sat next to me and began carefully arranging leaves on the bench beside her. She sorted them by colour--deep reds, crisp yellows, tired browns--before pressing each one flat against the wood as if committing them to memory. A breeze came through and scattered her careful work, but she only smiled and started again. I almost asked what she was making, but some things don't need a final form to have meaning. Five stars. Come here if you need space to think or if you want a reminder that the world is full of people quietly working on things that matter to them.
