I was looking to use this hotel as my home away from home during my 3 month work assignment. After…read morestaying there for a couple days last week, i will not be doing so. The rooms were nice but the maintenance was slow. I arrived the day of an ice storm. Checking in the parking lots were full sheets of ice, some.more than others. I stayed in building 9. I called the front desk 2x to inquire about getting the lot & sidewalks salted. I literally had to slide from my car to the door with luggage. I also watched a elderly man have to do the same. The lobby parking lot was so bad that i couldnt even pull in to parl my car because it was so icy, my car just kept sliding I understand the weather was bad, however it is a HUGE safety hazard to not even attempt to put down salt. Maintenance never came. On the day of checkout, the fire alarm went off in my room. There was no fire in my room so i called front desk to ask for maintenance to come by to shut it off because it wouldnt go off. 40mins went by & no one ever came (again), however when i stepped out of my room there was someone vacuuming in the hall & the housekeeper was a few doors down. So mucj for even checking to make sure things were okay. The biggest deal breaker was the false information, or bait switch that was done. I spoke with the Sales Rep, Sara, prior to my arrival to inquire about a discounted rate for travel nurses for 3-6nights for the next 14 weeks. She quoted me a rate less than $100 after taxes. When i called to book the rate for my future stays she gave me a rate totaling $122/night & stated that the other rate was for 30 day stays only. This was not the information that was given to me originally as i never inquired about 30days. I was quite disappointed in the fact that she changed the info she originally gave & the performance of maintenance. Bar service was good even though they closed an hr early almost every night. Also the guy at checkin was very unwelcoming, & short. He didn't do a good job of explaining how to use the drink tickets either or that you get a ticket every night. Due to this i missed out on some of my complimentary drinks. I mentioned several times that I was in town for work. Out of all the units they had they put me in the building where they were doing construction, which woke me up from my sleeps during the day. I work late nights so sleep in when I can. I'm not really sure why you would put someone that id there for business/work in a construction building, unless that was the last option. Thay didnt seem to be the case as the lot was pretty empty on all sides. Maybe in the future, if these things are resolved I'd return but for now I'll take my business elsewhere & will advise my colleagues to do the same. *stayed Jan '24*

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, which is literally just steps from the campus of Illinois…read moreState University. The front desk, staff and all of the staff that I encountered during my stay were very welcoming. The hotel was meticulous in my room was sparkling clean. That's not something you often see and most well used hotels. The bed was comfortable and I really enjoyed the toiletries provided in the shower. I often find myself wanting to buy different shower gels that I try at various hotels and this one did not disappoint. The positive is that they have a small dining area and shop in the lobby and they're also connected to a Starbucks that opens as early as 6 AM, if you definitely need to have your morning coffee like me.

We were midway on a road trip and stopped here, and it looked so promising online before actually experiencing it. The car area to drop bags up front is a small semi-circle and a bit chaotic. Cars get stuck easily if just one car up front takes too long. So it's kind of a weird 'welcome' as it is. From there, I think I may've experienced the most checked-out-check-in guy I've ever seen working the counter. It was actually impressive, like a caricature of someone who hates his job. I said hello, he stared at me. I guided him through how to check me in essentially, giving my ID, spelling my name out, and a credit card. He said not a word. I had to ask everything; ok and the elevators are that way? Breakfast is what time? Parking is where? etc. One big draw for this summer road trip with our longest day driving so no matter the weather, we knew they could swim here. Nope, pool was closed and that set everyone off. Girls were like "this trip stinks we wanna go home!" The room was fine, smelled a bit mildewed. Nothing too bad, but just fine overall. The breakfast the next day was poor quality, IMO. The oatmeal was impressive in that it was somehow super watery AND super thick and gummy. The fruit options are minimal, and it's sort of more 1990's continental breakfast than Hampton Inn. I was excited to see hard boiled eggs but they left the shell on and they were super sticky, so that was a one and done. Luckily the staff on the way out was friendlier than the guy before (would be hard not to be) and the hotel luggage carts came in handy. Other than that, very forgettable, and I would definitely go elsewhere next time around despite the nice location for this hotel.

Parke Regency Hotel & Conf Ctr., Bw Signature Collection - What's up with the wasted space. This room is missing the arm chair all the others have. It us just looking empty.

The pictures online showed rooms that looked newer than they are. However, considering the age of…read morehotel, it seems to be in good condition and was clean. We had the One bedroom king suite with a sofa bed in living room space and jacuzzi in bedroom. Each space has its own bathroom with non-accessible showers, but showers are large enough for a bench. Just no bars to hold onto. We didn't expect much from a sofa bed, but the mattress was a lower bar than we imagined. There was a bar sticking into my sons back all night, but he was a teenager so he had to deal with it. Lol The remote in the living side was not working correctly, but the tvs are digital and have streaming services you can connect to. The chairs/ottoman were hard, old and stained. The bedroom mattress was thin. It's a cheap and medium firm spring mattress, but as a side sleeper, was soft enough. The jacuzzi jets didn't work, but the tub was super clean and there was enough hot water to use it. There were plenty of towels. The coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave were all fine, but the coffee tastes like dirt. And I'll drink any coffee black, so I'd bring my own. Overall, the staff was friendly, no major issues. Overall amenities for price was a bargain. If this was renovated and modernized it would have been the perfect room for our family.

Even the prime rib was somehow ruined with salt injections... scrambled was full of peppers, Alfredo minus parmesan, desserts from a well-preserved box from Sam's, everything was cold so the pans weren't even heated correctly. Additionally,it was hugely expensive at $45 and they added a fee! A fee for what? They were a nice as could be though.
