Some internet research led me to approach Dr.Karr's office for a second second opinion. My previous dentist finally gave me some advice which was useful after a failed attempt to bridge my bottom molar gap. He said that he recommends implants as the best solution for any missing teeth. Even though he could create crowns in his office, he would have to refer me to his favorite prostodontist for the surgery and implant installation. I decided to find my own prostodontist with a google search and came up with two who offered second opinions without charge. The first suggested two implants and a bridge where my previous dentist failed. He was also appalled at the care I had received to that date. He ignored my attempt to convince him I wanted three implants. Finally, I arrived on my guard at Elite Dentistry where I expected more of the same arrogant and condescending attitudes I keep finding in Austin practices. My confidence had been shattered to the point where I felt I would remain toothless and unable to eat a healthy diet. Dr. Karr's support staff took their own x-rays, made their own exams, and asked me what was going on. They collected everything they needed to insure that Dr. Karr could make a professional and informed decision on my behalf. All he had to say to me after introductions was "You want three implants, good. We will schedule your appointment to begin.". A couple of weeks later, I was eating chicken noodle and ramen soups. We worked together to facilitate a healthy healing process using alcohol free solutions and gels. I actually felt like a partner in my own medical care with the frequent check-ups on my progress. For the first time in my life, I trusted a dental professional and benefited from the relationship. Please understand, Elite Dentistry is a comprehensive quality care facility. Quality care is not cheap by any standard and required me to dig deeper into my scant resources to set aside funds to pay for future cleanings and maintenance. I am still paying back on a monthly basis the money loaned to me for the implants by my relative. They did give me a substantial discount per my payment method which allowed me to carry through with the procedures which were excellently executed. Today, I am pain-free and the toothpaste I spit out is white and bloodless. I can and have been eating to my hearts desire. I actually have all of my teeth to chew food with and a partnership with Dr. Karr, his associates, and staff which insures my dental health. Dr. Karr's office created a discount program which enables me to continue quality care or practice with his office. Thank you everyone at Elite Dentistry. See you in March. read more

I've debated posting this review because when I first came to Elite Dentistry to get implants on all my bottom teeth close to 3 years ago Dr. Le was great and his assistants were so nice and helpful. I was well taken care of and his staff was always checking on me making sure everything was ok. Flash back to this past Wednesday August 12th, 2026 when I needed to get a crown and filling... Shae, his assistant (who is absolutely AMAZING) could sense I was nervous and I just said that the shots kinda freaked me out, she then reassured me that I would be ok. Dr. Le comes in the room and barely acknowledges me and Shae told him I was nervous about the shots so he said he would go slow and he did... usually before the dentist starts his procedure they usually say "you might feel a lot of tugging or pressure or hear the drill going but it sounds worse than what it is" not Dr. Le he just went straight in and it was just like rushing and calling out to his assistants to bring him this and that and if I would move he didn't even ask if it was because I was in pain he just kept going. Then Shae was prepping my tooth for a temporary crown and I could feel some pain and she asked if I wanted to get a little more numb and I said yes... Dr Le. comes in, opens my mouth and just gives me a shot then tears his gloves off and leaves like nothing... It was not a good experience and the only bright side was his sweet assistant Shae, she took such good care of me and his other assistants helped out as well and I have always loved them! I just don't know if he was preoccupied or busy or what but he wasn't the same Dr. Le I saw when I got my implants and like I said I debated writing this review because I am not that kind of person that just sees the bad In everything but this visit affected me such that I had to write about it read more

I have always HATED my teeth. While they were not exactly hideous, they were crooked and discolored. I figured I could live with the crooked if I could just lighten them. I had been told by more than one dentist that the darkness was from within my teeth and there was no whitening them. I have had 5 root canals, periodontal surgery from midline, top and bottom, and too many fillings to even count. All that is said to tell you where we are starting here. I have a friend who is a ceramist (makes teeth) which is not only a skill but an art. She said to be sure I went to a registered prosthodontist not a dentist who does this as well. After much looking I found Dr. Kaar in Austin. The office and staff are so wonderful. Everyone is always so professional and kind. I have never had to wait past appointment times or had any issues with scheduling appointments. The office also has an in-house lab which is an awesome point. No wondering where your prosthetics came from!! I am now about half way finished with the reconstruction. All my front teeth have been done. The top are crowns and the bottom are veneers. I cannot tell you how wonderful it is. They look so natural and they are just beautiful! I can't wait to finish the back! Please know that a full reconstruction is a process and it does take time. Dr. Kaar is nothing short of a genius and the ceramist is truly talented. I chose not to be sedated and was kept totally comfortable and as pain free as possible. I am so pleased with the outcome so far and will update when all is done. Also, the price is affordable. I cannot say enough good things about my whole experience. I drive an hour and a half to get to the office and do so gladly every time!! Anyone considering a reconstruction can come here with full confidence. read more

One can very easily go on and on as to how great Dr. Karr is. I've done that on more than one occasion. The only problem with that is until you actually meet Dr. Karr and sit in his chair it's very difficult to really "GET IT". The main point is that he is so unlike your conventional dentist/prosthodontist that the typical rules simply don't apply. Yes the girls in the office run an extremely tight ship (and the flexibility with the scheduling is unbelievable). It's also true that they have an in house lab which speeds things up, allows for more precise and accurate results and very often means less visits. And yes, financing with them couldn't be any simpler. But the most important thing is that Dr. Karr is not only good at what he does he is in a league of his own. Implants.......he's an expert. I knew it after 2 minutes in his chair. This enables him to literally charge half of what the other guys do (and still make money). I got 2 implants, bone grafts, and a sinus lift and didn't even have to take one pain pill! I was also eating solid food in 24 hours. There were no hidden fees, no nickel and diming, and he initially spent plenty of time with me discussing my treatment plan. If you live up north and don't want to drive down south, just do it! You'll make less trips and the one's that you do make will be shorter in duration. You owe it to yourself to check them out. You won't be disappointed. I guarantee it! I was visiting friends and family in Austin when one evening I bit into what seemed a piece of rock at dinner and broke one of my teeth. After some research and recommendations of local friends I decided to go to Elite dentistry and see Dr. Kaar about my misfortune. I was given an appointment right away to see Dr. Kaar the very next day and the office staff were welcoming and compassionate about my situation. After all I was on vacation and spending it in a dentist office wasn't included in my plans. Dr. Kaar came in immediately after I was placed in the patient chair and I did not have to wait unlike I usually do at my own dentist's office back home. I am a giant whimp when it comes to doctors and dentists and my phobia goes beyond words used to describe it. I think Dr. Kaar felt that right off the bat and made sure I was comfortable and explained how he was going to fix the problem with minimal discomfort. True to his word doc was very gentle and made sure I stayed comfortable during the entire procedure. He fixed the broken tooth and it looks exactly how it was before I broke it. I will be back in Austin soon to visit friends and family again and I will be going back to Dr. Kaar to have him work on an implant next time I am there. I am still not a fan of doctor or dentist visits but if I have to go to one, Elite dentistry is it. Now only if I can pursue him to open an office in California so I can say goodbye to my own dentist. read more

Well, I waited a little more than a month to give this review considering the holidays and the complicated services we performed a few days before Christmas. I admit my lips were a little sore for a few days and I felt I should wait until they fully healed. Today, a month later everything is excellent and I need to let every reasonable person know I am extremely satisfied with Elite. Of course, I have had to do my part and patiently trust these professionals to perform the exemplary crown installation necessary for my satisfaction. They have gone above and beyond my expectations in all aspects of my oral care. For example, I think a solid lower molar in the back of my mouth is fine when it crunches what I eat. I would not be choosy for it to be a certain color or size, but what do I know about molar size and color ? Well, Elite does know about these things and more. They refused to install a subpar crown and instead chose to have me return so they could make certain the tooth was excellent. I trusted them, and I am thrilled that I did. I look at those crowns everyday and somehow those hidden molars improve my smile. I must add, I am not the easiest person to give oral care to, I am profoundly hearing impaired and appreciate when the caregivers make sure that I understand what they tell me. That is my participation, I do what they say, they are the professionals, each and every person in the clinic front and back. Thank you read more

Well, first of all you need to read this man's credentials. They're impeccable. I had put down $1000.00 at Clear Choice for major implants. Their pressure to commit was unnerving. However, I had not done my homework. I looked up every prosthodontist history/practice in Austin. Dr. Kaar was worth a trip to south Austin to meet him. Here is confession time. I didn't like the looks of his office or the section of town. I walked in ready to walk out. Until I met his staff. Sheila and Angie were bright, friendly, incredibly knowledgeable and not pushy. I met this tall, handsome and shy doctor. He sent me for ex rays and then a consultation. His diagnosis was thorough but not scary or pressured. I realized this doctor set out to establish a practice solely based on his skill. He hired loving people who could take up the slack where his reserved personality lacked warmth. His practice has soared. His commitment to excellence is a given. If Dr. Kaar isn't satisfied and I am, too bad. He'll expect me back in the office, free of charge, until he is. When comparing my financial out-lay to others, next to his training... it was a no brainer. Clear Choice was clearly not going to be my choice. They were gracious in returning my money. So, take a deep breath, feel confident that soon your mouth will look beautiful :) read more

I lost all hope after suffering a terrible accident at only 21 years old... I broke my jaw in three places, had my jaw wired shut for months, lost several anterior teeth as well as molars. The few molars I had left were broken and painful. There was severe bone loss from the accident as well. When my oral surgeon removed my wires, I was left devastated. It felt as if I didn't own the same mouth... At such a young age, I was completely hopeless. I was blessed enough to cross paths with Dr. Kaar and his team of miracle workers. Thanks to him, I have hope. I have been beyond satisfied with the entire process and outcome of the work I've have done thus far. I am confident in the fact that I'll be able to smile proudly by the time this journey is over. Dr. Kaar's front staff are the sweetest group of ladies I have ever had the pleasure of meeting as well as his assistants... they are very thorough and make me feel right at home all at the same time. Dr. Kaar himself is a very respectful and professional man. He is a perfectionist and if you're looking for someone to trust to give you your smile back... he is your answer. It is to you, Dr. Karr, that I say thank you. Thank you for not only making me smile, but making my heart smile. read more

I have an auto immune system disorder so my 5 dental implants and bone grafts repeatedly failed due in no part to Dr. Karr or his staff. It was a grueling process over 18 months to get my body to accept those implants and grafts, which Dr. Karr painstakingly and professionally replaced at his own expense. I will never forget sitting there with my husband crying because I knew there was no more money for more implants and asking Dr. Karr what would I do now and being astounded when he assured us that as many surgeries as it took he would honor our original agreement. I might add that I became his patient because NO ONE, AND I MEAN NO ONE would accept me as a patient due to the extreme amount of bone loss my jaw had suffered. Finally I visited a cosmetic dentist who said he knew of only one surgeon who was having good results with difficult cases such as mine, Dr. Karr. This man is a genius and I would never trust my cosmetic dentistry to anyone else. He is a cupcake don't be dissuaded by that type A personality that drives his tenacious perfectionism. He has your best interest at heart and will always strive for the highest and best for his patients. read more

Years of repair left me with little to work with, when I was faced with the bleak reality that my options had run out. At first I decided to give a denture a try and to my disappointment realized my quality of life had depleted to one of no longer enjoying my eating experience. I reconsidered implants. This began the process that would have been only six months for a normal mouth but wear and tear of an aged situation left it quite challenging. Dr. Kaar's determination proved very valuable with his expertise and self confidence to get the job done correctly. I am very pleased with my choice and end result. Besides regaining confidence when I smile, my eating experience has improved beyond expectation. I highly recommend Elite Dentistry. I felt taken care of by staff as well as technicians that were there to aid in procedures. I, also, want to mention the lab tech did a wonderful professional job with the final prosthetic. One more thing, when I was having a time crunch, Dr. Kaar met me on his day off to help keep me on my time schedule. You cannot get better than that. Thank you! read more

After going through several unhappy experiences with other Dental Plans I was fortunate enough through my Tri-Care to get the opportunity to search for a plan they offered on a list of Dentists that appeared on Tri-Cares approved Dentists List. I searched and finally selected Elite Dentistry. One factor in my favor was, Their Office was within several Blocks of My Home and during my initial contact with them I was greatly impressed by every ones Professionalism and Friendly atmosphere. Right a way, I knew that I had arrived among People I felt comfortable with and from day one they have never dis-appointed me. I have had several Dental work visits and am extremely satisfied with all the work that has been done, I,e, " never" had pain after Dental work, concern by Technicians and Staff before during and after procedures to include Phone calls or E-Mails after each visit(My kind of folks). My plans are to continue to have Elite to help me keep these Teeth well oiled and Healthy, Thanks Elite... H. Jefferson, Jr read more

I started seeing Dr. Kaar about a year ago. My teeth (what were left) and gums were in horrible condition. I not only had a terrible experience with dentures and not wearing them, I was getting infections, abscesses and additional breakages. Dr. Kaar literally started rebuilding my mouth. Bone grafts, 10 implant supports and an entire mouth of new, permanently implanted teeth. He is a perfectionist and extremely attentive to any complaints or concerns I have had. If you have any discomfort, he's on it immediately. Although I'm still wearing the "temporary" version of my implants, they look real, are exceptionally comfortable and have done well. I'm almost done with the process, just getting the final touch-ups on the permanent teeth which look remarkably like the teeth I had as a young woman, but better. The amazing part is that he never saw me with my real teeth. He's not only a doctor, he's an artist. He has a large, attentive, friendly staff. Appointments last awhile, but are well worth the time. read more

i went in for two implants. everything went smoothly. i received a treatment plan with prices. i let the receptionist know that it will take two months to save the cash. she said, "no problem". she said she will email me the proposed plan and amount in a few days. well, i waited for two months and i gave the same receptionist a call. she said she remembered me, however, she said that she had disposed my proposal. without hesitation she said the price had gone up. i told her to sent me a proposal so i can look at it and see how much money i need to save. guess what, it has been another week and she has'nt sent me anything(via email). there was never any mention of a reduced price for paying with cash, either. what kind of dentistry is this. my next move is the bbb. i do believe raising the price after having me sign a proposal is legal but most of all it is unethical(just ask the big wigs for sears). read more

After some extensive research about dental implants I decided to give Dr.Kaar and Elite dentistry a try and I am very happy about my decision. I was greeted by a friendly front office staff that took care of paperwork seamlessly. The dental assistants made sure I was very comfortable before the procedure began and Dr.Kaar himself was very clear about the treatment I was about to get. I had two implants done here and the end result was flawless. The implants look straight and very natural. I don't think anyone can tell them apart from my natural teeth. I like the fact that Dr. Kaar is a perfectionist and made sure to go over a few extra steps to ensure perfect results. I will be back here for a crown work soon and if you need implants, I recommend giving Dr.Kaar and Elite dentistry a try. I'm still not a big fan of being on a dentist chair but if I have to, this place is it. read more

in 2013 i went to Dr Karrs office for an evaluation on a possibal implant denture i had a bad condition of loose teeth due to bone loss in my upper jaw .at the time i had money from my pension plan to do the procedure. he pulled all the bad teeth. and made a temporary upper denture while the bone-grafts for the implants healed.when it was ready for me to have the permanent denture i had it finalized . i was so happy to have this done. no floppy upper any more ,i could eat anything i want apples corn on the cob nuts etc.i couldn't be more happy with what the doctor did for me. the staff was professional, friendly, and helpful .i am getting more work on my lower teeth as of today and im sure it will be as successful as the upper jaw work. thanks to Elite Dentistry im a happy smiling patient. thank you Dr Karr and staff. 4 star review..... I took my mother because she broke her bottom dentures of 30 years. They opted they were unable to repair them. They offered me a special they had for $595 full set upper and bottom but her insurance does not cover me here. The places her insurance takes takes almost a month to get first visit, then three to five additional visits plus a month sending the order to California. I am still waiting for our first visit. Elite was super friendly and understanding of our situation. I ended up going to Affordable to get the old dentures fixed for $160. They were night and day terribly treated. I wish I either had insurance with Elite, or they would have been open to fix them as an interim solution. Although I did not do business with them I am gladly recommending them for their professionalism. read more

Because of my prior experiences, I have always been nervous when I step into a dentist office, but at Elite Dentistry. From the time I stepped into the doors for my initial consultation and up to my implant surgery, I have felt nothing but comfort and professionalism. Now don't get me wrong, I still felt the anxiety creeping up on my before my surgery, but Dr. Michael Le and his team took very good care of me by explaining everything in detail and making sure I was relaxed. Since my implant, I can say that I am very happy with the results as there was minimal bleeding, swelling and pain. I will definitely give "props" to Elite Dentistry (which is not something I have done in years) and look forward to a continue relationship with this office. read more

The doctors and dental assistants were fantastic. I had 2 implants a sinus lift and 2 crowns. Doctor Karr and Doctor Yang performed admirably and the end result was as good or better then I anticipated. The price for the work was much less then other practices. I previously had an implant done by Clear choice and although their work was exemplary the price was significantly higher then at Elite. The only negative part of my experience with this organization was the wait time per office visit. This increased over a 7 month period. I think that they are experiencing growing pains due to their excellent prices and over all work done. This is my first ever on line review and am taking time to do so only out of appreciation for a job well done! read more

I whole-heartedly recommend Dr. Karr! Because of his skill and work, I have my smile and my confidence back! He and his staff delivered on every promise--not only to me but to each of the other patients I struck up casual conversations with in the waiting room. Before coming to Dr. Karr, I had already been evaluated by 6 other doctors so I knew that I need a radical procedure. Dr. Karr distinguished himself immediately by providing the clearest solution--one that took into consideration my dry mouth issues. I cannot say enough good about the level of care and the professionalism provide at this office. Today, I can eat anything I want to eat, I am pain-free and comfortable, and my friends and family rave about the visual results. read more
