Cliff notes: overcharge, give you the runaround, misplaced X-rays... sent a bill I didn't even know…read moreabout to collections This place is a bit of a mess. I had a few cleanings done here, which were pretty normal. Like others have said, I had to wait longer than expected but nothing too drastic. I did end of switching providers though after one too many bad experiences that could not be coincidental. Saga as follows: -They switched dentists between my 2nd and 3rd cleaning here. During the second cleaning I was told I would need multiple fillings (which I kept procrastinating...) During the 3rd cleaning the new dentist said I did not need any... (to give benefit of the doubt, maybe every dentist is different...? But I felt like the previous dentist was just trying to get money out of me! -They were VERY hesitant to give a referral for a wisdom tooth extraction to anywhere but one specific place (which didn't take my insurance) Once I finally jumped through all the hoops for them to finally release my information to who I was asking them to, they only sent part of my record and I had to get X-rays redone at the place I was getting my wisdom teeth out because they "didn't have it" -During my 3rd cleaning they took the X-rays again because the "didn't have them" How do you misplace X-rays...? ‍ - the new dentist was really demeaning, mansplained EVERYTHING to me, even restated something I literally just said, and used my name every other second thinking he was "connecting with me." I did not like it! But I was thankful he retook the X-ray "for free" (not my fault they misplaced it though...) and did not lie about my filling so that was nice... mixed reviews on him -Nail in the coffin, my last appointment was 7/22 and i have not heard from them since (except to cancel a cleaning 1/23 because I decided not to continue with them...!) All of a sudden I get a collection notice in the mail saying I owe them money for my last cleaning.... I called to ask why I didn't get a bill or a call or anything. They claim they sent 8 bills before sending to collection but I did not get 1... Needless to say: proceed with caution. The people are not bad (also not the best...) but I had one too many bad experiences for it to be coincidence.

I get a message months later that they need to reschedule the cleaning and that they don't have hours past 6pm. It entirely unreasonable to cut your hours so people have to take vacation time to get a cleaning. The receptionist was an immature person incapable of explanation as a reasonable adult. If you're going to reduce your hours, the very least you could do is plan ahead and honor the appointments you have and not inconvenience patients. It's clear this practice does not care for its patients. And a good family practice lost in Lancaster.

I corresponded with the office staff via phone and email to accomplish the transfer. They were very professional and efficient. One reminder is fine, especially when I confirmed, but the repeated texts were a tad overkill. When I arrived I was greetly warmly to a very clean and beautiful office. I've never been to a professional health care provider that was decorated as homey as here. It was nice, without being too much. My dental hygenist was running late, as I wasn't called back till 30 minutes after my appointment time. No one informed me of that. Than it took her longer to actually build my chart, and get the front desk to pull and download my previous xrays from my old provider, all while I sat in the chair and waited. I feel all of that should have been done prior to my appt. To be honest I was very annoyed at how long I was there. The cleaning was good, and they provided a courtesy scan of my mouth. Dr Scott was charming and easy on the eyes. He answered my questions in an easy to understand manner. The welcome goodie bag was a nice surprise, with merch I will actually use. Obviously I'll be back, I hope the running that behind is an isolated incident. I also opted out of the text messages, so moving forward I hope to give them an additional star.

I asked about being on a waitlist if someone cancelled last minute and the receptionist acted like I was crazy. Interestingly enough, I had an issue in the past where a hygienist berated me for not getting frequent enough cleanings. I work for the defense industry and buy supplemental policies to keep bills to a minimum. Throughout the three years we've gone to Yorkshire Dental its "discovery learning" when it comes to billing. IT seems there's never a problem until we come in for an appointment. At first, there's a mix up between assigning our primary and supplemental insurance (which they had the nerve to blame on my wife). Then my spouse wasn't covered by any policies at all and we received bills (since rectified). Then there's mix ups in submitting insurance claims. Then they couldn't properly submit claims in a timely manner. The law says claims must be submitted in a timely and reasonable manner. I now have an outstanding bill for $1700 from May of 2024. They are working through it and have three options in my opinion: 1. Fix it with the insurance company (who normally set 90 days to one year to submit a claim), 2. Write if off due to their own inefficiency, or 3. send me the bill have force me to take them to small claims court (where a lawyer would cost them more than what I owe with a judge possibly seeing them not being "timely and reasonable". Either way, enough is enough. We've cancelled out appointments and will find a new dentist. It's a shame that an inefficient front office staff cost Dr. Bommu a customer who loved her work.
