My wife and I wanted an above ground pool in our backyard and decided to go with doughboy pool Saratoga. We contacted the local doughboy dealer for installation who gave us a ridiculously high qoute for purchase and installation. So we purchased the pool from swimming pool discounters in Pittsburgh and got it shipped to San jose California. After looking around, we decided to go with Armando of Elite pool services for installation. The work included -Leveling the ground which is very critical - assembly and installation of pool - throw away the dirt after leveling - set up all pool equipment pump,filter, heater - concrete base for equipment - plumbing and electrical work for pool Armando started the work on dec 8th and finished the job on feb 14th.The only issue I had with them was the delay and some of the timelines were not met. Armando has a lot of patience and takes time to explain issues. He always kept me in the loop about the progress. Overall the quality of installation was very good. Some minor issues of leakage was taken care of. There is a 1 year warranty for any issues found. Overall I decided to give 5 stars because all roadblocks, issues were taken care of and it was all well in the end. The quality of materials used for installation was excellent. I would highly recommend Elite Pool services for above ground pool, and electrical work. read more

This company is awful. They have the worst project management and miss meetings and work days constantly. They charge premium prices but use unskilled labor for most of their work. Our project was quoted to take 6-8 weeks. It's been 6 months and they still can't complete the work they quoted. We've paid for everything but still have items that aren't functioning properly. They have come out to correct items 5 and 6 times and still our pool isn't functioning properly. One of the owners, Armando, constantly breaks appointments, shows up much later than he says without letting you know he will be late, ignores texts and makes excuses for why he doesn't respond. Run! Requested a quote. They made an appointment to come to my home between 9 and 11. They were a no show. I left them a message on Yelp, I get a Voicemail that they are very busy and to call him. Extremely inflated price for parts (ebay costs $410, EPS charges $1250; another part: ebay cost $165, EPS charges $770). EPS tried a bait and switch at the very beginning which should have alerted us to their dishonesty. EPS tried to switch to a lower quality material after commited to a written quote. No concept of honor, keep missing date to finish by almost 2 months and lying all the way till the end. Service quality is barely acceptable at best and mostly shoddy. Caveat emptor! Hired them for renovating my pool shed. The owner said he would be able to finish the work in 3 days. Took money upfront and then did not show up after one day of work. The process was very stressful as he kept lying about coming the next day every time I checked with him. Upon repeated calls and follow up he finally finished the work after a month. He was not transparent about the materials he was using. Broke my pool filter in the process and left all the debris after he was done. It was an extremely bad experience and I would not recommend hiring them. I would have given the 0 star if I could. read more

Update on my prior review.....so after agreeing to cancel the contract with Elite on Monday, the weekly cleaning staff show up the following Friday to clean my Jacuzzi....uhh did your boss not tell you that Elite was fired?....sorry no I was not told, okay I will leave. Contact Manager again and ask him why his employee showed up? Response "we are so busy that we did not sync up" Me-Okay not to worry, I will save your company some time, I am no longer a customer. BTW I looked at Yelp, you guys have some very bad reviews, it seems my experience is not unique. Response " Look we have lots and lots of customer, so we can't make everyone happy. You have not been happy since day one." Me- Well I was unhappy because your team did not deliver. But not to worry, you don't like me as a customer and I am not happy with your service, so we walk away and both are good! But I do have to say, Thank you Elite for not performing because it got me to find a cleaning service that actually did their job. My jacuzzi looks amazing today! Why because this service truly did a deep clean! They removed and cleaned out every jet, explaining that is why dirt continued to be in the bottom of the jacuzzi; deep cleaned each headrest; they removed and cleaned the filter, said it was fine, no need to get a new one; they fixed the wooden lattice; armor-all'ed the jacuzzi cover (looks great); and washed down the patio.....jacuzzi looks brand new and water is sparkling! So Elite, thanks to you, I now have an amazing cleaning service! read more

I hate giving poor reviews to businesses, especially ones with little reviews. However, I also feel like it's my responsibility to share honestly so others don't fall trap to my mistakes. My hot tub's "flo" error came on and after doing some online research and going through some suggested quick fixes, the error didn't go away. So, I contacted a few hot tub service provided and Elite Pool Service (EPS) was the first to respond so I went with them even though they charged $130 just for a visit no natter whether any repairs are made. This is on the higher end, most will charge less than $100 which I found out after. A few days later, Armando and the owner (didn't catch his name) showed up barely within the time range they said they would. But after I called and asked when they would come. I have a feeling they had forgotten or communication got lost along the way. Armando and owner looked at my tub for 20 minutes, ran the pumps, asked a few questions, and said that I needed my circulation pump replaced and will cost $600. Two red flags: 1) The circulation pump is running fine and heating the pool. If the circ pump is not running, the tub wouldn't heat and water would not be coming out of the circ blower. Armando touched the pump by hand and said that the pump is cold and therefore not working. After he left, I restarted pumps using the breaker and the pump was warm and running. I can even feel the vibrations. Conclusion: they didn't find the problem and wanted to fix a wrong issue that was going to profit them. They probably would have kept replacing every part until the problem was solved somehow. 2) When I asked what the breakdown of parts and labor was, Armando told me less than 2 hrs labor and $400 for pump parts. I had looked up a replacement pump, and it costs less than $200. Even with a markup, this is not an honest deal. Armando did tell me that if I bought the parts, I can pay him for the labor to install. I paid them $130 for 30 minutes and said I would think on it. I was thoroughly disappointed with EPS' knowledge and results. They didn't find the problem, want to fix a non-issue, and over charge for the work. After EPS left, I drained, cleaned, refilled the tub, and also replaced the flow sensor for $60. The tub is running like new. read more

My pool pump and pipes broke. I called first thing in the morning left a message and Armando called me in about an hour later. I explained what had happened he told me he would have someone come by same day to take a look. They came by and were able to fix my system. They were very nice and very helpful and fixed everything. They just finished our pool and spa remodel and it's beautiful. We had a thirty year old, stained pool with concrete deck and no handrails. They pebblecoated the pool and plastered spa and did amazing coping and waterfall and rock wall. Estimate was kept to and timeline, took longer than expected, but was worth the extra time. Elite Pool Svc refinished our pool and replaced our deck with travertine stone. The price was reasonable and the work on the pool was very good. However, the deck has some big problems and they are unwilling to fix their errors. The coping around the pool is good but the travertine stones in the deck have settled and moved. Some rock back and forth and there are now gaps of 1/2" in places. There were a couple of things they were supposed to come back and finish but I made the mistake of paying them and trusting them to come back and finish the job. If I can give them negative stars I would. They sold me a faulty pool heater. They were really responsive when selling and getting services because they are getting paid. However after a week of installing my pool heater, it gave me a fault ign. They answered me, "call insurance and have them fix it, we just install it, it's under warranty. This was about june 2020. It's almost the beginning of sept 2020 and still the heater doesn't work. They duck calls really well. They don't communicate with anyone or each other. I would NEVER work with these people. When I questioned when they would be there I got a displayed response & message the owner needed to contact a technician and again delayed response on a prearranged time. Adrian is quick to answer the phone or text for new business. He visited our home and estimated about $2k to replace one filter pump, but said the backup pump might also need replacing. A few days later when trying to schedule, he said both needed replacing and the job was now $4k. The pool equipment was over 30 years old and I figured just replace it all. Never saw Adrian again, but instead someone that worked for him, who showed up on random days, unannounced, sometimes for a few hours but mostly for a few minutes. A 1-2 day job ended up taking 7-10 days of sporadic work. Plus they removed the temperature control and stated that they could install a new one for more money. The robotic filter arm still doesn't work, and Adrian now won't answer my calls or text, despite a one-year warranty on their work. read more

Within 1 day of calling, they were on site assessing the job. They beat 3 other previous quotes to completely resurface my pool. They came to troubleshoot and fix a waterfall feature that was broken. I had assumed it was the fuse/circuit needing to be replaced and the service person confirmed and fixed it. I don't have issues at all with the fix. The reason for the 3 stars vs. 5, is trying to sell me their weekly or monthly pool service. We have had our pool for 5 years and I have serviced everything and only called in service when I needed it (circuit needed to be replaced, solar heater panel broken). The service person went on and on about everything that was wrong with the equipment and how it was being maintained. Although there were some points that were true (and which I knew about beforehand since we hadn't done our annual fix to get the season started), a lot was BS as I have been working on and researching what to do for 5 years now.
