It was too expensive to do both, but the childcare has changed so many times. I'm so sick of it. Honestly the kids climbing and playing on the soccer field while I worked out kept me here. Now you only offer a small playscape? That thing gets packed and my kids are always having to deal with the other kids' poor behavior (which most of the time ends up in someone getting hurt). Gold's gym had more to offer for less money. Unless you HAVE to have some form of childcare or you have your kids in sports here... just go somewhere else. I wish this wasn't the truth. I was beyond excited when it was being built I was literally waiting for it to open to get a membership. I will say one thing... as a majority the staff is always positive and puts a smile on your face.

You might have to circle a bit to find parking, but it's not bad at all considering how many shops and businesses are right next door. If you happen to have kiddos joining you, the studio offers to watch them in a designated indoor play space while you get your barre on (schedule permitting). Compared to other barre3 studios that I've tried in the past, the classes at this location feel like a much better workout. The movements are more comprehensive, more challenging, and will definitely work you out no matter your fitness level. I love the variety of hand weights and resistance bands that are used, and how every exercise can be modified to meet your body's needs. I take classes more frequently with Chris and Sheila, and both ladies are wonderful. My only wish is that they had more classes earlier and later in the day!

Over the past few months, Carmen's work with me has significantly improved how I feel throughout the day. With her training, I've discovered entire groups of muscles I never even knew I had. Mainly in my back. Building them up has made keeping decent posture easier throughout the day. That's my primary goal and it's clearly happening. I hold myself differently and feel more comfortable, especially at my shoulders and lower back. My lower back pain is gone. I sleep better and feel more confident walking around. Carmen has a real intuition for the body's movement, reminding me of my ballerina sister. Carmen can tell just by watching when something is off. She's also great to be around; whether it's the exercise, the company, or both, I'm always more cheerful leaving a workout. The app plus video also enables me to continue sessions while traveling. The current owner Mikaela is super personable and friendly and ALL the coaches go above and beyond. All the other orange theories I've been to coaches don't say your name, low energy and could care less if you push yourself and aren't motivating (I've been to about 6 different locations just to see if they're all as nice as lakeway or if lakeway is just doing it right) I highly recommend doing the unlimited plan so you can really enjoy it all! When I signed up, there was a promotion going on and the referring member never received what was promised. I forgave that, but it's not how you should do business. Incident number 2 -- I was sent out of the country and needed to pause my member, which is a great feature of OTF. However, I called the Lakeway studio no less than 3 times, leaving messages. None were ever returned. #FRUSTRATING and a loss of money for me. Incident number 3 - I moved from Austin area. Called twice. Of course, for a second time, my initial message was not returned. When I did reach someone (I think her name was Courtney) she was HORRID. I very nicely explained the situation and that I needed to cancel my membership do to moving. She said that she couldn't do that on the phone and that I had to come into the studio. I stated that I couldn't do that as I was no longer in Austin. She said I was being 'hostile.' WTF. I most certainly was not being hostile in any manner. She did go on to process my request while I was on the phone -- sending me a DocuSign. Something she just said she couldn't do. She was not polite nor was she professional during the entire process. Incident number 4 - raised prices even though I was locked into an evergreen price. #NotCool. Overall, I love OTF. Great coaches. Great programs. Great system. I love going to all the OTFs across the country, but NOT the one in Lakeway. #Unprofessional #Rude #Unkind are the nicer words of how I would describe Lakeway. Great location. Nice members. Horrible staff. Just my 2cents. Thanks for listening.
