True that it is smaller than the other location but it really doesn't matter to me since mainly I spent my time just sitting at somewhere doing nothing. As long as my kids are happy and love spending time here as much as I do. It's 5/5. Vibe check. I'd recommend getting here early afternoon before the post-work rush. Easy sign in and sign up process - just scan the QR code at the front desk to sign up, enter in address, etc. Then sign in on the paper in the binder for access to either the swimming pool or the fitness center.

They have mini golfing where you can rent equipment inside the facility. They have a great playground area and outdoor fitness equipment. Inside the facility, they have a free pool and gym area. They offer a variety of classes such as yoga, water aerobics, etc. Make sure to check out their website or pick up their schedule at the facility for hours of operation. For first timers, you will have to fill out a form and don't forget to bring a large sized towel for workouts! There's a really great large dog park next door but there's no entrance to the dog park from Mary Jo Peckham. You would have to park at the Katy Library to enter the dog park. If you have eucalyptus oils, I suggest to get a towel and put it on the towel( personal wash cloth) , walk in and kinda inhale it while you in there with the steam. 10/10 !!!! I also like to take showers here lol I've never been to a gym and was excited to take a shower after working out in pool because most of the times gyms don't keep up their bathrooms . But not this gym.! They're about $10 a day which I pay because I don't have a membership and just can't afford one right now but I do come once a month. Late fee is $32 and if you have multiple cards on your account, the primary is locked because you're off shore due to work, YOU ARE still going to be charged the late fee $32 but the very next day they will charge any card on file and of course it goes through. Unfortunately they will not refund because per Villa Sport, "late fee is late fee". So people read your contract carefully because I also had to pay $80 to cancel the membership. Any other amenities you also have to pay more to add onto membership. Lifetime didn't give me all this hassle. Mind you I used the gym a few times per month when I would return back. It was so inconvenient that freezing also came with a specific time lock, 30 days. So if I arrived before the account would unfreeze I still couldn't use it. There are just more classes available in the day than nights. Wish there were more options for healthcare workers that work graveyard shifts.

The initial appeal is that Katy Hustle has its own gym that can host tournaments while other programs lease facilities.. The emphasis is on the older players while younger players are not consistently coached or supervised during practice. Its not a bad program, just that it could be better managed. Considering the cost, more attention could be paid to fulfilling the representation of excellence in coaching and customer service. No question that the gym is nice, but that is the only saving grace for this program until greater effort is made to build the brand of a player-focused program. Fortunately this is in a high growth area so as they lose clients more will come to replace them. The incentive to improve probably isnt there right now because it doesnt have to be there. In a another sense, I would concur that the excellent facility and the program that funds it is well named - the Katy hustle.

At 77yo, I enjoy the pool very much. Before my back surgery I was doing laps but had to back off that until Oct 15th. So I do physical therapy walking exercises in the pool for now. The water is always just the right temperature and it is always clean. Every one of the lifeguards are friendly and helpful and one of them always gets the door for me when I come in and out with my walker. The overall staff here are helpful, friendly and most importantly, patient. I want to mention in particular the custodial staff, who are responsible for keeping Monty Ballard in tip top condition. They are fast to clean up messes and keep on top of all the daily upkeep. All in all, I highly recommend this YMCA.

This Katy Cinco Ranch location is very family oriented and has plenty of space & equipment. I have yet to have any issues with waiting to use equipment even when it is busier. You will find a surplus of treadmills, free weights, squat racks, benches, and more for all your exercise needs. There is also a child care area available for the younger ones. In addition, they also have a gymnasium with multiple side rims, as well as both an indoor and outdoor pool. Other areas available include a stretch room, cycling room, group exercise room, and another smaller weight room. They have plenty of locker/storage space as well, located is some weight rooms, outside the restroom/pool area, and inside the restrooms as well (the ones in the restroom require your own lock). One of the things I love most is they have a water fountain with a filtered water bottle filler so I can bring my empty water bottle from home and fill it with water at the Y for my workout. Another thing I appreciate are the several sanitizing stations for your hands and for wiping down equipment. Overall I'm extremely happy with this Y. The staff are very friendly, they have plenty of parking and allow 3 free guest passes per year (my previous Y made you pay for all guest passes). The only slight negative I've found so far is that they don't provide basketballs for the gymnasium due to people not returning them, which is understandable. Thus, I highly recommend this YMCA!
