Awesome rock climbing gym, especially if you're looking for a place to host a large group. The owners and workers are great to work with and help you every step of the way. I was looking to host a group of about 20 for a networking event at my company and we wanted to make it fun but also affordable. Elite Climbing certainly fit the bill. They guided us through setting a date and time as well as ensuring we get our waivers in before arriving. When we arrived, they got us right into the swing of things. For the casual climber, they have harnesses, teach you how to belay, and let you go on your way around the gym! It's a cozy rock climbing gym but certainly has walls with varying difficulty all around. There are bouldering areas but I was not quite ready for that challenge; many of the more seasoned climbers would go there. All in all, our group had a great time at Elite Climbing and I look forward to returning at another time! read more

My husband and I have climbed other places, and this is a GREAT climbing gym! We personally enjoyed it, and so did our kids (9,7, and 4) who are all newbies. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! Elena gave us the intro to belaying (they use safety locking belay mechanisms) and was available to help whenever we needed her. There are many different routes mapped out for different levels, a very large bouldering area for experienced climbers, beginner walls with an incline, and reverse incline walls for more of a challenge. So I have to say you have to rate this place two ways. 1. for kids 2. for adults Kids its amazing place with a lot of opportunities to grow and have fun! GREAT STAFF Now for Adults its great for bouldering and the setters take really great pride producing some amazing problems! Living in Philly but I go across the bridge to try out Elite because I heard so many horror stories about rude and unhelpful staff at Go Vertical (They were less than friendly on the phone when I called a couple years ago inquiring about going with my friends. I know nothing, not even what question to ask and the person was impatient and just didn't seem to want our business). Elite has extremely friendly and helpful staff as well as the regulars that frequents the gym. Made me feel very comfortable and welcomed especially it was my first time rock climbing. The routes are challenging (I was a total novice but quite fit and I've been climbing with the seasoned climber and seen them tackle the routes with glee) and periodically changed. I am hooked and has been back every week since. Oh, Girls, take advantage of Tuesday's Lady's night, $6 day pass and 50% OFF on gear rental and beginner's package. Awesome place!!! Many difficulty levels for new and experienced climbers, both kids and adults. Two-handed and auto-belay systems, and many (~30 ft) high walls and nice overhangs. If you push yourself, it's a great way to get a whole-body workout. A very easy sport to get into, very safe, and exciting. And they have candy at the top!! read more

Decent place for climbing I suppose (I have only climbed once before). They have color-marked paths based on level of difficulty. The walls aren't terribly high-- 20 feet maybe-- but experienced climbers can find challenge on the black and red paths. They do have a number of free-climb walls, though you'd have to be in either 1) incredibly good shape to do, or 2) be mind-boggling nuts. The staff were friendly, and they were helpful teaching us the proper techniques to climb. I'd go back if I could get more hand strength and tackle those free-climb faces. read more

I forgot how much fun rock climbing could be. I can't compare it to other gyms bc it's been so long since I've been anywhere else but the beginner's price here is very good. On Tues, women are half off so my lesson, equipment, and pass were a combined total of $17. Definitely reasonable. read more

Brought my daughter here for a birthday party and she had such a great time. Great place to bring the kids to keep them active and off the video games, ipads, and other electronics. They have many different walls for all different levels and skills. I didn't get to experience it myself but will definitely be back to try it out. Looks like a great workout. I loved there when I first visit elite climbing. Not many people, Clean, Good music and vibe. But, second time I went there wasn't that great. As soon as I get in there, it smelled so bad and empty drinks bottle everywhere. Very crowded, and their staff was giving my friend attitude when she asked her for other size shoes after she tried one. Their female staffs were very not friendly and giving us attitude all the time. I'll update my review after I visit them again. read more

Only been there twice so far. Really fun place! I don't know much about rock climbing but I have been to another rock gym before. The belay class they offer does not include a lesson in knot tying as they use some kind of pulley system. Which works for me because I have a short attention span anyway and this way even a monkey could spot me. Place is really laid back, has couches to sit on for when you get tired (and my arms and legs do get tired quickly). I also saw some kind of bouldering cave that I did not try out but looked kind of cool. Place is expensive to me but a fun way to get a workout in. Would definitely recommend if you're tired of the gym. I also really like the music they play. Gets me in the mood to climb. read more

I've visited this place couple years ago when it had a different name. That time we went rock climbing. This was my first time bouldering. It was a busy Sunday afternoon inside but since mostly everyone came for rock climbing there was plenty of room for everyone who opted for bouldering. My cousin did mention that they do change the position of the holds. As a newbie, I had fun. It was challenging and you definitely get a good work out after about a couple tries. I highly recommend renting the shoes to get a better footing. Only thing i wasn't too fond of is the smell. It does get a bit stuffy in here with the stench of sweat and feet. read more

Great fun for a weekend! The walls are challenging and you will be sore the next day. After about 2-3 hours yours arms feel like falling off and your hands won't be able to grip anything, but you'll feel awesome! Recommend going there early on weekends before all the little kid parties arrive. The place is very laid back, casual and friendly. Awesome! Booked my daughters birthday party here on a Saturday morning. Ivan was so amazingly professional, helpful and even went out of his way to do something we took a shot at to do. I had no idea that every staff member would be so patient and understanding with the children climbing. The ages of children ranged from 7 to 13 from experienced to amateur and the staff encouraged all. The fact that I could bring my own food and whatever else I wanted was a huge weight lifted off since my daughter has food restriction. The zipline was a huge hit for all children and the helpfulness and mere gentleness from everyone made the party extremely feasible for everyone to participate. The options for corporate and ladies nights as well as discounts and packages makes you want to keep coming back. Overall the best party my children and I have been to. read more

I moved recently on East Coast and live in PA but prefer going to this gym as is a nice friendly atmosphere. Lots of routes with all the difficulty levels on both boulder and ropes. Their staff is careful on keeping the things challenging so they usually set up new routes every month or so. Is also a great place for taking kids to get good exercise; my son is enjoying his 'climbing' so I have 'time' to try short boulder climbs. Definitely worth the money and experience. We came here specifically for bouldering and the routes were very challenging but manageable even for beginners. The gym wasn't too crowded. The guy who showed us around and what to do was a bit awkward and it made us all uncomfortable. He wasn't as outgoing as most and didn't seem like a climber himself. The woman who was at the desk when we walked in was a little bit rude and commented on our way out that she was surprised we had lasted so long on the walls. Their hours are a little bit scarce, I wish they were open during the day on weekdays or late nights on the weekends. The climbers were very respectful and took turns climbing in the desired areas. Don't be discouraged if you are bouldering for the first time and struggle. You will get the hang of it! read more

I live in Philly and I cross the bridge to go to Elite quite often. Go Vertical may only be 5 minutes away from me but they are not nearly as welcoming there. In fact, they are quite pretentious. The staff and patrons at Elite are incredibly nice and helpful. read more

We went with our 5 year old who sometimes changes her mind so they let us try it no charge and were very patient with her. They could have charged us for the half hour we were there but they did not. When I first went on the website and saw the beginner package I thought this was the perfect option. I had never been rock climbing before and was looking foreword to learning the ropes from a professional. When we arrived the place smelled like stinky feet. It was disgusting. The staff seemed less than thrilled to be there. We filled out the necessary paper work and were left to figure out how to put on our harnesses ourselves. Our "guide" was less than helpful. We barely got an introduction on how to use the gear when we were left on our own. It was not worth the money we paid and they certainly didn't live up to my expectations.
