I certainly wish there was a way to get reliable help with anything construction or home repair…read morewithout being a contractor. But since our area is obsessed with new construction the rest of us get half-effort service. We went through Lowe's in Franklin, who sent these guys. Matt & some silent guy did the typical work-as-fast-as-you-can-to-be-done-by-4:00 routine and then blow smoke up your hind end about how much pride they take in their work. He told us all the things he did right. Yes, he did install out upstairs HVAC unit located in the attic but "had to leave" without making sure it was working effectively. And then told stories about how he'd have to do the heat when they came back (because it's now 4:00, oh & it's Friday). Promising to return on Monday ... we then don't see or hear from him until he shows up unannounced over a week later. Promising the heat works great, and what pride they take in cleaning up their workspace my husband signed off on a job completed. BIG MISTAKE. Sharp screws all over the carpet in my walk-in closet where the attic door is located. In the attic the old unit still sits... and all the left over materials strewn around. What in the H? That's not even remotely professional! And a month later when the heat index is 102, it's like we never even got a new unit. A-1 sends out a repair guy. "I'm not hauling anything away, I don't do installs. I'm just the repair guy." He tells us that Matt over charged the compressor and now it should be working fine. He takes the time to point out what a great job he's done because it's now after 6pm on a Friday and he's still working. "Because you aren't done until the job is done." Yeah... well, 45 mins later it's hotter than ever upstairs and nothing was better. My husband calls Lowe's to "rip them a new one" and the dude calls back. Turns out he's the one on call tonight from A-1. But he says: "I'm not coming back tonight." He says he'll be here tomorrow. Well it's tomorrow. And he called to say "oops! It's Sat. My bad. I'll see you Monday." ON THE HOTTEST WEEKEND ON RECORD. I had to sleep downstairs on the sofa. We have to have it freezing downstairs so that upstairs doesn't hit 90. I cannot even believe how UNPROFESSIONAL and SHOTTY this place is. And furthermore...after now having had multiple home-improvement projects go horribly wrong because we went through Lowe's... my husband made me PROMISE to never let him go through them again. Good luck MdTn. So far we've never had anyone do us right in the HVAC world.

I can't say enough good things about Anthony and A-1. Our 26-year-old unit stopped working in the…read moremidst of the cold weather following the ice storm, recently. The next morning, I called A-1 shortly after they opened, because they were recommended by a co-worker. Within 10 minutes, Anthony, the owner, called me back and put us on his route. He was out here within three hours, diagnosed the problem as a locked-up inducer motor, which he would have to order. This was on a Friday. The part came in early Monday and he had it installed before lunchtime. My wife, after feeling a little heat from the vent, told him he could leave; but later messaged me because the fan never kicked on. I called Anthony and he came right out the next morning, quickly found the problem and fixed it....for NO ADDITIONAL FEE!! So, in conclusion, A-1 was fast, efficient, professional, and beyond courteous. Speaking as someone who has been in retail for the last seventeen years, I can't speak highly enough of the customer service Anthony displayed. He truly went above and beyond to get us warm during the coldest time of the year; and really, really knew what he was talking about while diagnosing the problems. Furthermore, unlike the big chain HVAC repair services, he didn't try to "sell" me anything when he came out. He just fixed the problem and treated us like valued customers, even though this was our first time meeting. Six stars on a scale of 1-5, if it were possible. I can't thank him and A-1 enough.

It has been close to 20 years since A-1 installed my heating and air system. A friend and I have…read morebeen doing some reno work on my house, and he crawled the entire heating and air system to repair rodent damage. While repairing the system, he found numerous issues that were a result of the shitty work done by A-1. One register in the front bedroom was never connected, and the wrong vent was used. Other issues found were a main trunk line that was laying on the ground blowing cold air under the house. Another vent was also not connected, with the duct connected to the vent but not to the trunk. I would never ... NEVER recommend A-1 to anyone I know, and I will also be posting this on my social media platforms as well. I have them one star only because it wouldn't allow the post without it. Realistically ... I would give zero stars if possible.
