I certainly wish there was a way to get reliable help with anything construction or home repair…read morewithout being a contractor. But since our area is obsessed with new construction the rest of us get half-effort service. We went through Lowe's in Franklin, who sent these guys. Matt & some silent guy did the typical work-as-fast-as-you-can-to-be-done-by-4:00 routine and then blow smoke up your hind end about how much pride they take in their work. He told us all the things he did right. Yes, he did install out upstairs HVAC unit located in the attic but "had to leave" without making sure it was working effectively. And then told stories about how he'd have to do the heat when they came back (because it's now 4:00, oh & it's Friday). Promising to return on Monday ... we then don't see or hear from him until he shows up unannounced over a week later. Promising the heat works great, and what pride they take in cleaning up their workspace my husband signed off on a job completed. BIG MISTAKE. Sharp screws all over the carpet in my walk-in closet where the attic door is located. In the attic the old unit still sits... and all the left over materials strewn around. What in the H? That's not even remotely professional! And a month later when the heat index is 102, it's like we never even got a new unit. A-1 sends out a repair guy. "I'm not hauling anything away, I don't do installs. I'm just the repair guy." He tells us that Matt over charged the compressor and now it should be working fine. He takes the time to point out what a great job he's done because it's now after 6pm on a Friday and he's still working. "Because you aren't done until the job is done." Yeah... well, 45 mins later it's hotter than ever upstairs and nothing was better. My husband calls Lowe's to "rip them a new one" and the dude calls back. Turns out he's the one on call tonight from A-1. But he says: "I'm not coming back tonight." He says he'll be here tomorrow. Well it's tomorrow. And he called to say "oops! It's Sat. My bad. I'll see you Monday." ON THE HOTTEST WEEKEND ON RECORD. I had to sleep downstairs on the sofa. We have to have it freezing downstairs so that upstairs doesn't hit 90. I cannot even believe how UNPROFESSIONAL and SHOTTY this place is. And furthermore...after now having had multiple home-improvement projects go horribly wrong because we went through Lowe's... my husband made me PROMISE to never let him go through them again. Good luck MdTn. So far we've never had anyone do us right in the HVAC world.
