We stood there waiting -- and waiting -- while we could literally see employees working inside the garage, yet we were completely ignored. When I mentioned that I wasn't sure if he knew we were out front, he tersely replied, "Yes, I knew. What can I do for you?" When I said we wanted to rent a U-Haul, he looked annoyed and said we would have to wait 30 minutes -- no apology, no explanation, just blatant irritation that we even asked for help. On the good side, compared to most chain mechanic shops, Automotive Repair tends to be cheaper for their labor, which is helpful when you don't make a lot of money. On the bad side, they work one car at a time! So if you need service and drop off your car, it can take days before they even look at your vehicle... our most recent visit, we dropped it off on a Thursday afternoon. It was Wednesday the next week before they actually touched it! Again, on the good side, they do call you to tell you the problem and the price before doing the work! On the bad side, once they find a problem, they only fix that thing! They don't look to see if there may be another cause of the same problem or if anything else is wrong! For instance, we had an oil leak - leaking about a quart every time we drove the car. They said it was the Crank Seal that had pretty much come off. They replaced it, and now one day and $200 later, it is still leaking oil... a little bit slower now, but still leaking! We went right back up there today to tell them it was still leaking. All they could say was "it was nothing I did, it's not leaking from the crank seal, it's leaking from somewhere else!" Shouldn't they have noticed that if they actually tested the car after the repair to see if it was truly fixed? Like I said, they find one problem and only fix that... they don't look for anything else. We seem to have move problems with the cars after we have taken them there. I think we've spent more money there in the past few years than if we had just gone to the big chain mechanics to start with... and we would have had faster service. This visit was our last straw. We've finally seen the light and are looking for a new local shop.
