I love buying from local shops and using local services, but not at the expense of very poor…read moreservice. Bought a new refrigerator in November of 2024 it came with a one year warranty. The ice maker started acting up six months after delivery. We had a service tech come out to the house 4 or more times to fix it, and it still sporadically works. Not happy, I've called twice since the last visit, no callbacks. I wouldn't recommend Max's, service doesn't seem to be their forte anymore.

Sears Tech ( Kris) arrived on time and I recognized him from previous service calls Sears had sent…read morehim out on to us. He's always cordial and gets right down to business. My Bosch Dual Fuel 30" slide in Range suddenly wasn't heating properly. It would pre-heat but never get to the selected temp. Diagnosis was the main bottom Heating Element needed replacement. One was ordered and was sent FedExto my home in 2 days. Kris was assigned to install it. What a project. Nothing was simple or straight forward to get the old one out and new one in. I was horrified when he removed the old element...as you can see from the photo I attached. It's literally broke off in pieces and one section had the internal wires exposed. I'm surprised It didn't cause a house fire!!!!! It took an hour for Kris to remove and replace the element and get all the panels and wiring reinstalled. He made sure we tested it on both the PreHeat, the Traditional Bake, and the Convection Bake selections and it heated up to the proper temperature. It was yet another service call from Sears that complete left us satisfied. I'll be calling Sears Repair Services again in the spring to do our annual Lawn Tractor maintenance including Oil, Filters, Blade change, spark plug replacement and belts checked. You can Count on and Trust Sears when you need them most!!!

I hired Dave to do a number of tasks. Some of them he did well and others he left me and my…read moreproperty in much worse condition than when he started. The most significant project he ruined was restaining my log home. He assured me that he knew how to do it which it turned out he didn't. He ended up using hazardous products without telling me, putting me and my pets at risk, and causing damage to the logs. In the end I had to hire someone else to correct the extensive and, in some spots, irreversible damage that he did. Also, I gave him an item with sentimental value to repair in 2 small spots. He understood the value to me but instead of taking care of it he returned it in pieces, banged up, and missing a large portion. His excuse was that it was in a car accident. No offer to replace it. Further, he is mired in personal problems that interfere with his ability to do any job. Also, he is one of those people I consider very dangerous because they don't know what they don't know. He will undertake projects he is wholly unqualified to do and then make repeated excuses for his failure to accomplish them. In the end he has cost me alot of money, and caused me alot of unnecessary aggravation. I strongly suggest that you do yourself a favor and hire someone else. On a personal note, he is extremely unpleasant to have around.
