When the hardware arrived, I was immediately disappointed with the appearance and quality of the finish. It did not match the expectations I formed from the product page for the item I purchased. I contacted customer service immediately, before installing any of the hardware, and provided photographs. I explained that I was dissatisfied with the finish and requested to return the complete order for a refund. My request was denied because the rods had been custom cut, although I was offered the option of returning only the mounts and rings. What disappointed me most was not simply the refusal to accept the return, but the overall customer service experience. When responding to my concerns, the company referenced photographs of other products in their catalog--including a decorative medallion--that I had never viewed and that played no part in my purchasing decision. My expectations were based on the specific product page for the curtain rod I ordered. Unfortunately, I am left with custom hardware that I will never install. For a purchase of this price, I expected a higher level of craftsmanship and a greater willingness to stand behind the product when a customer was dissatisfied immediately upon opening the package.
