After meeting him and having him in my home for several electrical jobs, I am even more impressed. He and his wife (also an electrician) are superlative in all aspects. I have craftsman who have done work for me for 30 years, and I can't remember the last time I added someone to my list of "professionals for whom I never need a 2nd opinion or bid" who is so completely above and beyond in the quality of workmanship and personal/professional interaction. Their communication, assessment of the job, professional skill and knowledge, experience, courtesy, creativity, initiative, integrity, problem solving, humor, thoroughness, $ fairness, courtesy, diligence, tenacity are what we, as customers, want and seldom find. AND they clean-up completely before they leave the house! Bottom line: They treat my house and my electrical challenges as if they are their own, and I am grateful! I have a…read moredecently high end home (not bragging just saying that I am particular about who I let work on it) and I had Travis out to install some smart switches to help with a home automation project and I had Peter out for twice for a drywall repair and cabinet installation. I know Singletrack is known for electrical but they are equally competent in the other areas they service. Travis and Peter were great: Showed up on time and pleasant to work with and completed the work perfectly. Noelle, the scheduler, is the most courteous scheduler I've spoken with in a long time. She really has the gift of customer service. There have been other companies I've called where I was left feeling like I'm interrupting their Facebook time. Not the case here. Call her and you will know what I mean. I may call her just to chat about random stuff! My next jobs with Singletrack are more smart switches and a home backup generator, scheduled for next week. It's tough to find impressive workers in the trades but this is my team moving forward. They have taken the stress out of these projects because I don't have to wonder if they will show up, show up on time, make a mess of my house, do a poor job, or make me feel like I have to babysit. Also, they have a big enough team that I'm not waiting weeks to get on the schedule. The longest I've waited to have someone out was 3 days. Then they just get the work done right. That's all I ever ask of a contractor.

I received a verified quote from this company 2 weeks prior to beginning the job. It outlined all…read moreof the duties and the project cost. When they arrived today to perform the work, they informed me they could not complete one of the previously agreed upon duties and that I would need to hire someone else for that portion of the project. This set my whole project into a tailspin as that portion was a very intregral part of the work to be completed. As I scrambled to find someone else to perform that job duty and keep the project on track, they then informed me they could not honor any portion of the original quote and would instead be switching to an hourly rate. A rate that again they could not confirm would not exceed the original agreed upon amount. It was a complete bait and switch that left me completely in the dark. This is a very dishonest company.

We had a challenging experience working with Tru Craft. During the initial walkthrough to look at…read morethe various projects, it seemed that Tru Craft would be able to handle the various jobs we had (installing recessed lighting, replacing bathroom fans, replacing ceiling fans). After work was started, we started hearing excuses/justifications as to why certain parts of the job could not be completed properly (or completed at all). Mostly they blamed us for selecting equipment (new Panasonic bathroom fans and Minka Aire ceiling fans) they they did not prefer. Similarly, they objected (after the job was started, of course) to installing Lutron dimmer switches on the recessed lighting because they did not like the style of switch we wanted (again, a major name brand that we would have expected electricians to be comfortable with). All told, they left the bathroom fans only partly installed (we had to hire another contractor to redo the work correctly) and the ceiling fans click and wobble. We were told many times that things would have gone better if this had been "new construction," which was strange considering it was clear from the beginning that the work was to be done on an existing home. They did do a good job installing the recessed lighting, which was the only part of the job that went smoothly (except for installation of the switches, which had to be completed by someone else given Tru Craft's objections around using the Lutron switches we wanted). Tru Craft may be good choice for smaller/simpler jobs, or jobs where specific equipment is not required, but we ended up needing to use another company to complete our scope of work. (For what it's worth, the other company repaired/completed Tru-Craft's work quickly and without complaint regarding the equipment).
