Made an appointment to have pedicure and when I arrived on time I waited and was taken back to pedicure room. When I made appointment I told them I had shellac and wanted same. The girl said well they were running late and I would have to soak off. Ok? Then she acted like it was a problem and I told her I stated that when I made my appointment. I also have a fake toenail so she said it would take that off and I replied well can you replace it and she said no. Ok, than remove with nail drill. No they don't do that. Ok.... I made my appointment over the phone. Whoever I spoke to was very kind and helpful. They sent me reminders and confirmation text messages. Also, very helpful. I got an airbrush tan. My anxiety was through the roof. That was totally on me they were patient and professional. Everything about my experience at the salon was great. The tan however was just o.k. Done with this place. Got a gift card for my wife for Christmas, which took a few weeks and multiple phone calls to get. Cut to tonight, when me now seven months pregnant wife had schedule a prenatal massage for her sore back. She was looking forward to it all day and headed there right after work. When she got there, they told her the person who was scheduled to do it was sick and not there. No one attempted to call to tell her or to try to reschedule. Elevate is fabulous...the type of place where you leaving feeling like a million dollars (and spent a million dollars). Ok, it's not the most outrageously expensive place out there, but their services are higher. There's a reason for that. Professionalism. Upon walking in you are immediately greeted and welcomed with your choice of beverage. While waiting, peruse the fabulous inventory. Although it's an Aveda salon, many other high end brands can be purchased here. The entire building is fresh, chic, and modern. The attention to detail and cleanliness is top notch. Many of the stylists went to local cosmetology schools (so I'm told), but must also go through their own Aveda training and mentoring before hitting the floor. Elevate also has the resources to bring in renowned trainers in the hair and beauty industry for their own personal training. Wow! I am impressed. I went to Elevate and found a real gem....Brooke! My hair was a mess, as I tried to color and highlight it myself, it had an orange cast to it. Brooke did three different foils and finished with a hair cut. I have never received so many compliments on my hair. The colors blend perfectly and the cut is the best. I was greeted with a smile when I walked in, Brooke offered me a beverage of choice and she went to work on me. I will most certainly make my next apt with Brooke and highly recommend her! read more

I am VERY particular with my hair and do not trust just anyone. I had been traveling for years out of town and even to Chicago to get my hair colored. I knew of a stylist (Jaime Warbasse) for years and although I got my hair cut with her years back it Took my several years, to decide it was time she did my color. It is truly amazing! She did exactly what I told her I wanted her to do. It is truly perfect! Not to mention the many many compliments I got from my cut and color, asking her I got my hair done. I am very frustrated with this store. I went in to have my purple and blue faded hair color turned back into red and it took 5 hours when they said only 3 hours were needed. She was not gentle with my hair and was asking very personal questions. Green started to show again in my hair so I went back and she gave me a hair color correction conditioner and it colored only the top of my head a bright orange and the rest is now a neutral grey. I paid 250$ for red hair and only expected the one visit. Also my boyfriend got a trim and she cut his hair completely uneven on the sides, one is longer than the other. Worst customer service and very unprofessional. The manager at the Edgewood Salon, has the worst attitude and very unprofessional. I will be reporting to the Better Business Bureau. For someone, paying over $800.00 for a service, your attitude and professional skills suck. The Manager was very rude to my wife. I will be getting a hold of the General Manager as well. AIDET+ is a good place to start. Customer service is huge to repeat business. When someone walks away with great service and a great customer experience they will share it with everyone! Maybe someone hasn't heard of your brand or business but after speaking to someone and someone saying that they had a good or bad experience they are creating a touch point for others. So now that other person has a very general idea of the service your business provides is going to influence them even though they haven't actually used your product or services. I came in with a friend to have a trial run for hair and makeup for her wedding. I figure I am working with professionals who care and who are going to take time and who know what they are doing. Now I am not crazy and think I am going to show a picture of a hair style and have that exact one (many things vary like hair thickness and what not) but the lady who did my updo took like 15 minutes and was done. I felt like it was a subpar job. My sister who is also a stylist said it looked like I went to a new student at Capri, not someone who has been doing hair for a long time. When we got to the makeup portion of my experience, well, I felt like that was a terrible experience. When I have my makeup done PROFESSIONALLY the ARTIST does not use Q-tips to apply make up, nor does the artist scrape eye shadow on a plate. What bothered me the most was she kept asking me what I wanted fir colors. What part of dramatic eye bridal glam did she not get? All the colors were very muted and I don't even want to start on my bride fiends make up. She looked like a freaking ghost! I had to say that there needed to be blush and the lady kept adding muted colors on her. Her make up was cakes on. I am not sorry to say this but do not go here for make up application. Find some one who does airbrush, someone who uses actual makeup brushes and knows what the hell they are doing. Overall I had to get back to work and I called back and was refunded 75% of the money I spent. Received a deep tissue massage. Elevate is a little more expensive than most places but it is worth paying if you want to feel like a VIP. The massage therapist was informative, educated and gave me advice on how to help relieve muscle tension at home between visits. Making an appointment was quick and easy. My first choice for availability was not possible but that's the price you pay when you go somewhere high in demand. (They were very busy when I was there) When I arrived to my appointment I checked in. The massage area is kind of hidden from everything else, which is a nice touch. Almost immediately I was taken to the relaxation room. After waiting about 5 minutes or so I met the therapist and we went over my aches and pains. She then showed me to the "locker room?" Which sounds weird but it's a clean, neutrally decorated bathroom with lockers you are allowed to use for your stuff (never seen this before anywhere) they also have fresh clean robes for you to change into. Okay so I'm not generally a Yelp kinda gal but my experience was so bad that I had to leave this review. So before my most recent experience, I had always been okay with Elevate. I'd gone there to get my eyebrows done and that was okay. So I decided for my prom hair this year I'd splurge and go to Elevate (because it's not cheap) to get my hair done. I got there, and was soon taken back to the lady who was gonna do my hair. I showed her multiple pictures and had a specific hairstyle in my mind that I explained to her. Nothing too unusual either. I just wanted full curls with some braiding done at the top. She went through and fixed my hair...but as she continued I noticed my hair didn't look very good at all. The curls were flat, the braiding was sloppy. It looked like I did it myself. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to hurt her feelings. So I paid and went out to the car and my mom immediately told me that my hair didn't look very good. I knew it didn't, but I didn't want to hurt the hair dresser's feelings. My mom took me back in and asked for the hairdresser, and if she could redo some parts to make it look better. The lady quickly became very rude and snippy and I felt like a burden. She recurled a couple pieces and did the braids differently, but it still looked bad and now my hair was crunchy from all the hairspray. We left and I was still so unhappy with my hair. I cried when I got home because I didn't feel good about it and I knew I really had wasted my money. So thanks Elevate, thanks for being rude to me on my prom day and also making me feel awful about myself. I paid $70 for a sloppy, mediocre hairstyle. Never going back to Elevate for anything ever. I would give a 0 stars if I could. read more
