Gail is the absolute best!!!!! I've been seeing her for color and cuts for years and have never been disappointed

I decided to check out Elevate Creative after being tired of driving into the city for haircuts! I started getting my haircut by Renee last summer. I let her know I wanted to grow my hair out and she advised me to come in every 3 months to give my hair a chance to grow out. I appreciated this advice because the other salon I was going to was very adamant about me coming every 8-10 weeks so my hair never got a chance to grow. Absolutely wonderful! Gail is a gem. I've been wrestling with dying my hair but now I realize I waited too long. My confidence is elevated

So, I initially wanted to get my hair done with Gail because of her high reviews but she had a limited number of openings and I had put off getting my hair touched up for way too long so I went with Katie. I ALWAYS let my stylist know at booking that I need extra time allotted because my hair is very thick and long and I don't want the stylist to feel rushed or make mistakes. Unfortunately, that advice wasn't listened to and I was rushed out of the salon with sopping wet hair and an uneven dye job. She mentioned she had to push back all of her appointments by 30 minutes because of my hair, and I absolutely did not appreciate leaving with wet hair. Dry hair is how you can check to make sure you like what was done, so I went home and blow dried it and found that the dye job was so choppy and uneven. Katie attempted to do a gradient of purples into my balayage similar to a picture I had shown her, but was rushed and didn't check for eveness. The dark purple sits high up on my right side and the left side has patches of missing color. I did reach out to have it fixed but now I have to wait with uneven hair until my next day off. For $280 for the service, I shouldn't leave with wet and uneven hair and made to feel it was my fault that my stylist was running behind when she was given a heads up days prior to the appointment. Up until the last 10 minutes, I enjoyed Katie and wanted to come back with her specifically for touch ups. I would have been really pleased had my hair been dried, checked, and fixed before I walked out. read more

I was having a real hair-mergency. I'd turned my hair orange with home products on a late Saturday afternoon! Realizing I needed professional hair help before getting back to work on Monday I hopped on yelp but most places were closed or booked on Sunday. The Elevate Hair Boutique website directed me to text Gail and Katie directly to book an appointment and Katie fit me in. She was amazing - got a color fix, highlights, glaze and cut and blow dry all within 2 hours- and I have a lot of thick hair. She was so nice - not a bit of judgement- even though I totally had goofed up my hair. She got to work and understood what I was looking for. Cute location in the Oak Park Arts district. Nice salon. Prices about the same for chain bargain or more upscale salons in the area- but with amazing results and service. read more

If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. I had a 1pm appointment & was running 10 minutes late. Gail wouldn't see me because she thought my appointment was at 12:45pm and called the person whose appointment was after mine & asked them to come in early. So because of her mistake, she decided it was appropriate to not see me for my appointment. To be fair, I had an appointment two weeks ago that I missed because I did not have it in my calendar (totally my mistake), we spoke immediately afterwards and she rescheduled the appointment for today. Today she said she made an exception for me last time and couldn't do it every time. That she normally has a cancellation fee for missed appointments. I get that & think that is fair, but she never mentioned it to me when I missed my appointment two weeks ago. I would have been happy to pay for that appointment because I understand that time is money. In fact, it likely would have prevented this horrible experience altogether. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Gail is the best!! She always spends time talking through how my last hair cut / color was and then has suggestions for how to modify to stay on trend! She understands when I say I don't want to spend a lot of time on my hair and recommends easy to use products. Booking an appointment is always easy, as she is prompt to return calls/texts. You also get lots of reminders on when your appointment is which is super helpful! I love the private, clean and easy to find salon. I highly recommend Gail!! read more

I am so thrilled to finally meet Gail. It has been a year already and I continue to be very happy. Full professionalism, consistency in delivering best customer service experience any girl could ask for.
