The order

Such high expectations and completely dashed. This (on paper) looked like a restaurant that would be exactly my favorite kind of food (Ethiopian and Indian are my top two favorite cuisines). Once I settled in on the bar, the bartender didn't offer water right away, I order a mix of indian and Ethiopian food. The Saag Lamb was very little meat (1 and a half pieces) and it was given in a overfilled dish. The rice was not basmati, only the injera was good. The chai was super sucky and the whole experience was way below average. Very sad ambience and very disappointed that this establishment is not taking care of its customers.

Indian Vegetarian Lunch Special

This is THE best lunch special! $10 for all of this food! If you are new to Indian food this is a great way to sample everything. It comes with: Saag Paneer, Chana Masala, Mushroom Matar, Basmati Rice, Naan, and Gulab Jamun for dessert! Everything was so delicious and fresh. They also have an Ethiopian version of this lunch special that looked equally as delicious.

I've ordered delivery from Elephant Walk quite a few times but have yet to dine in person. The food varies depending on if the Ethiopian chef is working the kitchen. Their injera and shiro are ok as are the traditional sides such as gomen, atikilt wot and misir wot. The fish, although well-seasoned, lacks an umpff and would be greatly elevated if tossed with cooked tomatoes and sautéed onions. Lastly, their definition of upping the spice level is adding chopped jalapeños! I'd expect any Ethiopian restaurant to achieve this by increasing the amount of berbere. Major letdown in this area as Ethiopian food is usually prepared quite spicy. I'm not convinced I find them good enough to warrant an in-person dining experience but may decide to try after testing out the other Ethiopian restaurant in town. Overall, a solid 3 at this point.

Naan Nachos

Great food and good service. My son enjoyed the naan nachos. Definitely a unique non classic Indian experience The korma was my classic dish and it was made spicy at my request and was perfect. Great flavor, good texture, and healthy portions of protein We arrived late, close to closing and they still happily seated us.

Unacceptable! Rather than receive my food in individual carry out containers, I received all of it mixed up together in a Styrofoam container. The pictures demonstrate exactly what my food looked like when I took it out of the bag. I can't believe this. They should've known better. The food tasted good, but not mixed together. It is also never appropriate to place foods that contain juices in a Styrofoam container that spill out of the sides and create a mess.

We thoroughly enjoyed our food and experience at Elephant Walk! I am a huge fan of Indian food, but I eat it quite frequently, so I decided to give their Ethiopian vegetarian platter for one a try. It was served with the traditional injera, which is perfect for scooping up all of the delicious food. The veggie combo included red and yellow lentils, seasoned collard greens, and cabbage. My favorites were the lentils. I chose a spice level 2 out of 6 and it was the perfect level of spice. I definitely want to come back again and try their Indian food as well!

Decided to try this place because the restaurant I normally go to wasn't open yet. I love that they have a full bar and expansive menu. The wait was about 30 min for carryout. The staff was friendly and attentive and are still practicing social distancing. The carryout portions are huge. I enjoyed the chicken tikka masala. The saag paneer was a little salty, but good. Definitely would try it again.

Indian and Ethiopian; a marriage of the best spices and flavors! This restaurant is a unique jewel. As a traveler from Indy, I'm jealous we don't have such a great menu offered in our city! We loved the curries, the biryani, the spicy beef tibbs, and everything else we ate! We went at night on a Saturday, so they had an open bar and music playing! Great service, great food, and inspired menu! We will definitely be back next time we visit Cincinnati!

Service here is always poor. Portion size is also very small compared to all the other curry restaurants in the area and 2x the price. $$$$

The service was good. The food was good, except the spices were a little off on the seared meat platters.

I ordered garlic naan, mango lassi, and saag mushroom. All were good! The saag mushroom left just a little to be desired, but I'd definitely eat it again. They brought out the sauces/chutneys and they were cold, straight from the fridge and she was very disappointed in that. We ordered our drinks and neither one of us cared for the drinks at all. I ordered the chai tea and she ordered a manhattan. My chai tasted like milk and sugar and that is pretty much all, I was missing the spiciness of chai tea. Also a skin had formed on top of the tea as if the milk was scorched. She did not care for the manhattan at all, not really boozy and definitely not in the right glass and had a bunch of ice in it instead of none or just a single cube. On to the food. We both enjoyed our food. She ordered many items as she likes to take it home for the next day. I ordered the lamb kabob which is cooked in a Tandoor oven. I am going to say this is the single best dish I have ever had in an Indian restaurant and I would most assuredly order it again. My girlfriend said her meal was good in the restaurant and as leftovers at home as well. Our waitress did not have much of a personality and also it was clean inside but nothing spectacular.

It was busier than we expected, but it didn't affect our very attentive service. We started with a different appetizer than usual (for us), the Papadi Chat. A simple cold salad mix of chickpeas, apples, onion, and spices. We didn't really know what to expect, but it was tasty and something I could easily replicate at home. For entrees, we happily devoured 2 saag dishes (Chicken Tikka Saag and Saag Paneer), as well as Dal Makhani. I can't write this review without mentioning the naan. The garlic may have been one of the best garlic naans I've had - flavorful garlic flavor with so many actual garlic pieces adhered. BUT the star of the show was absolutely the Kashmiri naan. Do not pass this up!!! Maybe the best and most unique naan overall I've ever tried. Dramatic statement but true. Overall, this was a delicious birthday dinner and we will absolutely be back for more of that Kashmiri naan :)

More people came in but the restaurant was pretty empty all evening. Our server, Rachel was very friendly and helpful, going over the menu and made sure our waters were filled and we had what we needed throughout the evening. I asked her opinion between two cocktails and went with her suggestion of the chai espresso martini which was delicious! We started with the sourdough bread that came with treacle and honey butter which I thought would be more remarkable, if pretty much tasted like run of the mill butter. For dinner, my husband and I split the pachadi salad and the short rib vindaloo. The salad was crunchy and fresh and very flavorful, I would definitely get it again. The vindaloo was good but I would probably choose something else next time.
