Eleni's is a great Greek restaurant. The establishment is sophisticated and has low lighting, something I like in any restaurant. The workers are professional and courteous. The food is magnificent and comes in great portions. I would recommend the Kalamari Caesar Salad, the Hunter Schnitzel and the Oscar-style Steak. My only issue with this restaurant is that they are no longer open for lunch. Besides that, I highly recommend anyone who loves Greek food. read more

We arrived at about 5:30 pm on a Saturday. Lots of street parking out front. Was busy-ish, no reservation, seated promptly. Server was courteous and consistently popped by to see to our needs. The restaurant hasn't changed much over the years but still looks good and is a comfortable place to eat. We ordered the seafood linguini with a Greek salad to start. The salad was fresh, crunchy and so delicious, as well as a really good portion. The linguini came with two pieces of fresh but crispy garlic toast and a mountain of shrimp, prawn and scallops. Lovely creamy sauce and the pasta was just right. Neither one of us finished it as it was a large portion, so leftovers for lunch tomorrow, yum. The only thing I will say, is the prices seem to have really crept up. While I didn't feel taken advantage of, I didn't feel like "what a great deal". Having said that, we did take both entree leftovers home. It's delicious food, it's good service and a decent value. The Greek side of the menu is small, and they do serve everything from burgers to bbq. They have a kids and seniors section too. A great family restaurant that still won't break the bank. read more

Oh my gosh. I was soo full 1/4th of the way through our orders. Seriously, either too much to eat or my stomach decided to shrink for the night. Greek food tends to do that to me but this one was so good and extremely filling, we had to take home the rest of our orders. I ate the leftovers the day after and food was still delicious. We really enjoyed the deep fried zucchini. Veggie teriyaki was delicious but probably made for two of me. I will come back again! read more

I was here with my parents last night for my birthday dinner, and Eleni's seemed like perfect spot while we were in Mission. We were planning to go eat somewhere in Coquitlam, but I realized our bus wouldn't come until 4 hours after the arrival. Anyways Yelp showed me Eleni's for hearty portion of Greek and Italian food; previous reviews were true about huge portion of food. My parents and I ordered Seafood Fettuccine ($21.95, came with salad or soup) and BBQ Ribs and Lasagna ($23.95, came with salad or soup to choose)to share, and it was big for 3 of us to eat. Seafood Fettuccine was fantastic it had lots of seafood, and the sauce was creamy and smooth. Lasagna was tasty too, just that I found it little salty. As for BBQ ribs it was nothing special. Just some dry ribs lacking tenderness, and it had a smell of pork. I would've liked it if the meat was tender with no smell of pork. It fell off the bone at least. Garlic bread was great my mom loved it. Salad was good too. All of their Pasta dishes were spot on. Forgot to mention that Tomato Macaroni soup was so delicious. Service was fantastic. Our server Venise made sure we're doing good, and she offered me a birthday cake for 3 of us. Mine came with a candle on it. Besides she gave us a water refill often. I highly recommend this place if you come to Mission. There was no wifi at the restaurant; however there was one under #Telus and the connection wasn't consistent at all. read more

A group of 6 of us came here for valentine's we had no reservations but came just before the dinner rush. The staff after confirming we didn't have a reservation were extremely happy to make room by moving a few tables together for us. The service we received was helpful and friendly. We shared the mushroom caps and then we each had a salad to go with our mains. The mushroom caps came with tons of shrimp in them and garlic toast. I got the Caesar and my wife the Greek salad CAUTION THE CAESAR CONTAINS SOME GOOD GARLIC PUNCH! For entree I got the chicken parm with roast lemon potatoes My wife got the souvlaki platter both with pita and rice pilaf. The other entrees at the table were a steak, spaghetti Bolognese with garlic toast & the captains seafood platter. The food was all there in quick time. All were very well cooked and the sides (and portions ) were huge. Delicious food at great prices. Don't forget to try the house made baklava wow just wow it is so good! Firstly if you say you have free wifi for your customers then you should have wifi. Shaw Open is not free wifi if your not already a Shaw customer. Guest option doesn't work. And the waitress being snotty about it didn't help matters much. Now for my meal. The Hunters schnitzel. Garlic toast was made with cheap margarine, the menu did say veal and not baby beef, was pounded so thin that it almost wasn't there, ( I am of Austrian heritage so o know schnitzel), the breading was stale, the sauce was that cheap powdered brown sauce that you get from the cheaper restaurant wholesalers. I'm so surprised that people still come here. I have given it a shot...and then another! It's just plain awful. Let me start with IM A FOODIE. I love food and my reviews are usually sparkling with amazing ness. But I am also honest because it angers me to see people waste money on a business that is charging them threefold for pre made packaged food. Almost all the food is from a can, I'm positive. The mushroom soup...yes it was Campbell's mushroom soup. The lasagna...that is Chef Boyardee's very own sauce recipe. The chicken...keep chewing. The owners need to re-evaluate themselves and the quality of food they are deciding to affix their names to. It was very very very bad. The side Greek salad was good. That's it. The people who eat here must be long time regulars, ordering the same thing each time, 5 stars for a routine meal. No one who has been to any other Greek and Italian restaurants would call this good and keep coming here instead of driving 20 minutes to another 5 times better option for the same money. To be clear, my review would not by so harsh if they fixed their prices accordingly! If I pay $9 for a lasagna, ok I can expect something not so good and not complaining because...well what can you expect for $9 really. But when they're menu is completely plastered with $20-35 worth of dishes.... the quality to be received better be amazing, even great or good, please! and our party of four people/meals with appetizers, well none of it was anything near the cost and all of it was very lacking and disappointing. To top it off, the service is awful. Our server forgot almost everything, any deviations weren't happening, our salads didn't come out, side of soup instead of salad forgotten, even the bill took over 25 minutes! When you dine and spend almost $200, please can you present at least a 3-4 star meal? No one is asking for perfection, but we are asking to be fed quality ingredients, and not pre made, pre frozen microwaveable meals. I have dined in and taken out here, truly gave it a good chance, and will absolutely never spend another $ at this place. Mission needs a serious food overhaul, I hope that no one visiting from out of town stops here. Don't waste your money, drive to Abbotsford for a night out and enjoy your meal. My criteria for a Greek restaurant is how good their Tzatziki is. If that is good, then the rest of the meal will be. If it tastes like yogurt mixed with no name brand sour cream then don't bother ordering an entree. Eleni's has been voted Mission's favourite restaurant for some crazy length of time like 14 years in a row or something like that. I can see why. The outside and interior decor is nothing to look at. This is not a stylin place, and it sits right across the street from the Mission's train station for the West Coast Express. So... we were out for thanksgiving dinner because I didn't feel like cooking for 7 hours to eat for 20 minutes. We all ordered Greek stuff, salads, Keftedakia (meatballs) and Souvlaki. Our kids ordered Spaghetti and meatballs ($5.99) and they ate as much as they could, we doggie bagged it, they both had it for lunch today, as did my husband and there is still a full serving left in the fridge. And it was tasty. I ate the rest of mine for lunch today. All our meal portions were HUGE and very very tasty. Their Greek salad was perfect. Their Tzatziki was outstanding... I swear it was better than any I have had in Greece. We ordered a 500 ml container to go ($6.00). If you are hungry and like Greek food, this is the spot. They lost one star for not allowing me to switch the drink that came with my kid's meals from orange juice to apple (how lame is that?) and the decor is clean and new, just in bad taste. Eleni's is a great icon of Mission. Family run with fantastic service, huge portion sizes, a delicious menu and great pricing. If you know a school-aged child - buy the little coupon book from them for $10 and it includes by one get one half off entrees for the whole year!! The dessert is also amazing. No 1 Greek restaurant in Mission because there is no other Greek restaurant in Mission. I suggest going to Abbotsford instead. Why? Because food at Eleni's is simply meh at best. Service is subpar. Then again you may disagree if you have low standards and haven't had decent quality prepared Greek food. For whatever reason, Mission has a low standard when it comes to restaurants. However, drive 20 minutes to Abbotsford things are on a significantly better (higher) level. And I realize that the standard won't be the same compared to the high standards in Vancouver but Mission hits rock bottom in my opinion. read more

(Well, maybe not well hidden but a gem just the same) Actually, my review is based on the three staple foods I have only eaten at Eleni's. The food was just ok...not the worst but not good. From mostly decent reviews I figured we were in for a treat tucked away in our little town (we just moved here). You walk in and it is a bit dingy, no biggy, I've eaten at lots of diners and dives, but there wasn't anything really welcoming about the place. The hostess was friendly as was the server. The decor isn't much to look at but at least clean, just not a really inspiring nor is the outside view... The saganaki was really oily and greasy and had some sort of weird after taste. My chicken souvlaki was super dry and over cooked Hubby's lamb chops just ok and all the food was luke warm. Our server forgot a couple of things, like my salad and MILs soup. It wasn't very busy but we were left wondering if our server had gone home as we didn't see her again until about 15 minutes after we finished eating. I wonder what happens when it's busy...? I am not feeling well (ate about 5 hours ago) based on this experience I will not return. read more

Tried this place a couple time, to be fair, they can be alright but but would depend on if it's lunch or dinner. Lunch is not great, fish burger had onion sliced so huge I couldn't eat it and bun was poor quality with a sprinkle of lettuce and a huge pickle. Pretty disappointing presentation and service was rude and non existent, no one checked on us and we had to wait quite a while just to get the bill. Dinner was much better but the service was still subpar. Lasagna was good but the meat could be better tasting and didn't seem fresh at all and seem to have a weird filler in it as it didn't taste completely like beef. read more

My husband ordered the Eleni's burger and it arrived cold, we both ordered ceaser salads and all we mostly got was the lettuce you needed a magnifying glass to find the rest of the ingredients. I could not eat the broccoli and carrots, way to hard and the desert I ordered was a very small piece of cake with nothing on it, very plain and not very enjoyable and we got charged a outrageous price for it. I would like to first comment on the reviews about the wifi and the heat. If the can't leave your device alone, or you can't dress properly, maybe you should stay home. Usually I love Eleni's, my family eats there often. However, yesterday we had a very unhappy experience with them while ordering take-out. I was quoted 45 minutes for my food to arrive at my home. However, an hour and 5 minutes had gone by so we called to see where our food was at. We learnt that 20 minutes ago the delivery girl had been in an accident. We are very sad to hear this and hope that she is okay. However, it would have been considerate for Eleni's to call us and let us know that our food was going to be delayed. Once the food arrived approx 1 hour and 20 minutes late, it was cold. We had ordered the Roasted Lamb dinner and the Chicken Souvlaki dinner with a side of hummus. Our meal cost $42+ dollars. We had to heat up a $42 dollar meal in the microwave. We called and asked to speak with the manager. He was extremely rude and offered no appology. He did not seemed bothered that he has lost customers. Oh well there are other better Greek restaurants just waiting for our business where we will be treated fairly. read more

Hits and misses at Eleni's. We have been a couple of times and may or may not return. Moussaka: the meat/eggplant filling is scrumptious, but the topping isn't. It isn't a bechamel, which it should be, though it might be close. However, it has flour in it to firm up the texture and give the top a golden colour, but the flavour just isn't there. Eleni's Greek salads are prepared ahead and kept in the fridge. Too cold, far too much cucumber, and an unappetizing, non-Greek dressing. Excellent veal and gravy. Lousy French onion soup: instead of sherry, they put red wine in it sours the soup and ruins the flavour. Then a single slice of French bread is floated on top, guaranteed to turn to mush before it reaches your table, followed by a little mozarella (too little) which should be Gruyere for authenticity. Chocolate/almond cheesecake was excellent but quite small. Good coffee. House wine is Domaine de Chaberton, which is very good for a house wine. Nice decor and good service. read more
