I purchased a few gift cards to try this location before I signed up for a membership. 4 of my 6 appointments were cancelled, some as I was driving to my appointment. They did offer me a free session and I thought maybe it was just bad luck. I started a membership and all was well for a few months. Then another round of cancellations. I called to cancel my membership and was told I have to come in to sign the cancellation form. I showed up at 6pm on a Thursday and they are closed. I made my appointment over a month in advance and was so looking forward to a massage which I hadn't had in ages. First time scheduling with this office and was thinking my New Years resolution would be to have monthly massages. I received multiple texts confirming my appointment for 10am. I arrived on time only to find out I was moved to a 09:30 wait list. No one called to inform of this or to see if I would rather reschedule. The front desk offered an apology and nothing more. No solution to the inconvenience their lack of planning and communication caused. I will not be doing business with this establishment. They take peoples time for granted. read more

Had a gift certificate for a massage and aromaritual. When I went to pay with the gc I was told I couldn't use it at their location. I ask why if it's an Element gc. Then I waS charged $139. I asked why it was so high. They charged me $119 + $15. On the web it sTated $89. It was money I wasn't planning on spending at that time. The aromaritual was a cotton ball in a little bag that they place by your face to smell. I sent a message to the to management and have yet to hear back from them. Poor management. Today I had an incredible massage by Meghan H! I felt inclined to leave a review because of how impressed and grateful I am with the therapist and staff at Elements Massage, in Salem,Nh. I was in a lot of pain walking in for my one hour session, and had been for the past 6 days due to a pinched nerve from muscle tension. (A recurring issue that I treat with massage) This was my first time having a massage at Elements massage. The receptionist's at both the time of booking, and upon arrival were SO. GREAT.!! They were knowledgeable in what each therapist was capable of, which would be best to suite my needs, answered any questions I had, and they fit me into the schedule quickly while considering who was the best fit and not just who was first available. The massage was exactly the type I needed. Pressure was consistent, but also, adjusted perfectly to each targeted area. Everything was communicated with me effectively to find the right balance while also keeping me relaxed to enjoy the massage. Their knowledge on the area I needed most help with, was such a relief!! They pinpointed each area where I was in pain without issue, and with very little, if any, direction from me explaining where it hurt. It's crazy to me how spot on they were so quickly! After the session, I could slowly move my head right to left, and had much better range of motion in my shoulders arms and neck. Before I left we came up with a plan for my recovery and future therapy. Which was scheduled based on what rest and healing my body needed, and not at all about a return appt for paid services. They cared about my recovery, and the process, to get me feeling like my best self again. Thank you so much for an excellent first impression and an even better massage! I have to admit that I never thought I would try this place. I drive by it all the time and they advertise a first time special for $49 (55 min). I figured if that was the special price, then the regular price is way too much, as a buck a minute is around what I normally pay. However, someone mentioned that they were great there, and I had a neck problem that I needed worked on. I had some time today, so I thought I would call to see if they had an opening....and they did! I arrived a few minutes early per instructions. When I walked in, I was immediately impressed by the calming decor and cleanliness of the waiting area. After I filled out a brief intake form, they showed me the bathroom and the waiting area, which was very cozy and warm. My therapist, Trudy, came to get me on time and showed me into the room. Again, very clean and warm. There was calming music playing as well as some nature background noise. It sounded great acoustically...sometimes a little boom box set up in the corner sounds terrible, so I appreciated the sound here. Trudy asked how much pressure I liked and I explained I liked a deep massage. She did not disappoint! I actually asked her to let up in a few spots. It was a nice mix of deep tissue work and gentle relaxing strokes. As an athlete, I need someone who knows the muscles and can work out the kinks, wherever they may be. She did great. I ended up signing up for the membership, which is basically a commitment to get 1 massage a month. I'm looking forward to going back and will definitely ask for Trudy again. I love that they can schedule same day appointments (although you may not always get the therapist you want) and the location can't be beat. read more

It's pretty hard to get me to relax in any significant way, so when I say this place is amazing, I mean it. I've had hour long sessions with 3 different massage therapists (Victor, Jackie, and Matooka) and they were all incredibly professional. They are considerate about preserving modesty and explaining benefits to different massage techniques and areas. One thing I definitely appreciate is that they will check with you to make sure the level of pressure they're using is okay and will avoid any area you'd rather not have massaged. The atmosphere of the whole place is lovely and warm. I'm a bit hyper-focused on sanitation and I swear I haven't even seen a speck of dust on a flat surface any time I've gone. I highly recommend their membership offer because I can't think of anywhere you'd get more bang for your buck! read more

Saw Jacklyn today for a 90 minute. Wish we could still do two hour massages! I have been to a few different therapists at the Salem location and all have been great but I love this girl. She gets the pressure just the way I like it (at my request firm) and checks in throughout the massage as to whether more or less pressure is needed. She is always on time for our appointments and is always pleasant and genuinely caring. I have also been feeling less achy and rickety since seeing her. Would recommend Jacklyn!! read more

I've been a long time Elements member in multiple states since 2011. I've been to multiple locations in many states but this has to be the worst location. I've recently relocated to. NH and immediately signed up for membership here. First visit no issues. Second visit not great but no real issue. 3rd visit it goes downhill from here. I book my 3rd visit at the end of my 2nd visit. I've purchased a 90 min. Membership package so my next monthly spot should be the same. The day before my appointment I receive a confirmation call that I have an hour appt. oh no!!! I call and confirm they've made a mistake, they cannot accommodate me and I'll need to wait a week. I schedule for a week late and ask to add on hot stones. I arrive for my appointment and to my great disdain, the room is not set up with hot stones and the masseuse has no idea what I'm taking about. Now I enjoy deep pressure, but I've never prayed for a massage to end early in my life. In fact after I was flipped over I asked if we could just not rub anything anymore. My body was screaming. I must have asked 10 times to rub less deep and less hard. In fact at the end I told him just don't rub anything anymore. In fact, members are supposed to have hot towels, no hot towel either. When I left to pay, I told the receptionist I was unhappy, in pain. She tells me his sorry she is and that a manager will get in touch with me the next day. About 3 pm, the receptionist calls and says all they can do is offer a free hot stone service. Really?!?! That's it?!?! I'm in so much pain I've actually called my Dr for a muscle relaxant and made an appointment to he seen and not even the courtesy of a call from management? I told her thanks but no thanks. I'm. If interested in another massage, err excuse me, torture session and I'd like to cancel my membership. I have one massage left as I need to give a 30 day notice apparently. I think I'll pass, there isn't anything I'd give to go there again. I'm in so much pain, no massage should lead to a muscle relaxant. read more

DO NOT BUY A MEMBERSHIP TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. If you are a person who likes messages and looks forward to the time and really needs one... Pay as you go or go somewhere else. Getting a clear answer out of management is like playing cards with a 4 year old the rules change as they see fit. The individual therapist are not bad but they can't keep anyone on staff so I imagine management is as bad to them as they are to their customers. I got a membership when I lived closer. Great love massages... first massage was "relaxation" its all they had available.. this translates to therapist will rub you down with lotion an leave you wishing you got a massage. I waited and let time slip by so massages started to pile up. I got an appointment with a level 4 guy... pretty good I will say that. I asked to cancel membership because I had so many piled up... they said sure but you have to use all of them by the end of the month or you have to pay additional money to keep them.. What kind of bullSh@t is that. I already paid for the massages I should get my massages at the price I ALREADY PAID. I put membership on hold for two months.. and was going to use them in that time. I assumed they had started billing me again,... they had not. Randomly called today to book a massage... and luckily I did...or all 8 remaining massages would have disappeared into the wind.. 8 already paid for massages just gone and no one would have called to say a word. that is over 450.00 that would have just disappeared unnoticed. I have had massages here before and they are just average. However, today when I went to book a prenatal massage I was told it is a $10 up charge. When asked what makes it more expensive the response was "Well we use a pregnancy pillow and have you sign a release form..." Hmmm, typically because a prenatal massage is more limited than a deep tissue massage, the charge is less and not more! Won't be booking here, especially when Bella Viaggio just up the road in Windham provides a much more "spa-like" experience for less money. read more

I have been a subscription holder since 2015 at the Salem location. First the GOOD... the place is clean, relaxing and, mostly, the therapists and staff have a professional demeanor. This should be expected for the price charged. More recently, scheduling appointments requires a longer lead time, but that's probably due to their growing popularity. Now for the BAD...over time I have accumulated 12 sessions. Yesterday I stopped in to temporarily stop my membership until I have time to catch up. I was told that I would need to pay for one more month before being "allowed" to cancel...per their "policy". "OK," I said. But then, I was told that I had 2 months to use ALL 13 Session... REALLY???? After some polite push back, I was told I could convert 3 sessions to a gift card and I could give away the sessions I couldn't use. After more polite push back, I was "allowed" to extend the timeline to 6 months. Well, thank you! That averages to a massage every 2 weeks. I guess that's better than 13 massages in 2 months!!! Bottom line - beware of signing up for an Elements subscription because their "policy" is only thinly veiled THIEVERY if you let sessions accumulate like I did. My expensive mistake will definitely become their profit, but considering how many fine spas are in the local area, I will NEVER step into another Elements again and will warn anyone I can about the pitfall of their "Cancellation Policy" BTW, I was told to expect a call from "management" the next day, but it never came....maybe a poor review will urge someone to respond! ~~Martha read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I was a member for 3 years. I have had several problems with this place. Not only do they not give you the 50 minutes you pay for and deserve but they rush you out. I had to cancel an apt before Christmas and text them back on their confirm only to learn later you cannot and so I called before the 24 hours before. When I showed up to my new appt, and went to check out the girl said she INVESTIGATED my cancellation and they have to charge me. I asked her to have the owner Jackie call me but no she said if I don't pay then she would have to call the cops, seriously! I received no call and they proceeded to pull money out of my account without my knowledge and I will be taking them to court. I told her if you need the cops to handle this situation then you can cancel my account. My husband and mother are both done with them l and are cancelling as well! I really enjoyed my experience at Elements in Salem, NH. The people were very nice, the atmosphere was relaxing and the provider was excellent in her skills. She targeted the spots where I was tense and had pain even though I didn't tell her about them. I felt really good after my massage and will go there again. We even went on a day when it was snowing and were afraid they would close, but they were there for our appointment without any delay (well a short delay, but nothing to worry about). read more

My mother recommended this place to me and I was down in the area. When I walked in it was a great environment. I felt very relaxed just sitting in the waiting area. They had a book informing you on the people and what type were offered by them. Gina gave me my massage, she did great. I felt welcomed and walked out of there relaxed and feeling great. Update to my previous review: the owner reached out to me to address my concerns. Happily, the issue of the length of the massage has been resolved. Previously, there were times that the 90 minute massage were actually closer to 60. I understand that there should be time for dressing before and after, but I feel that 10 minutes on each end was excessive. Since my review, I have had no issues with short massage times. There is still the problem of therapist turnover. This is not the fault of the owner, it's the way this type of business is. The difference with Elements is if you have a membership (which I do) you have to go there. So when a therapist leaves, you have no choice but to stay at elements. What's good about Elements in Salem: the owner is responsive to customers; The therapists are professional and caring; the atmosphere is relaxing from the moment you walk in the front door (not an easy task considering route 28 is only steps away!) and the front desk employees are attentive and are personable. read more

I loved everything about my experience at Elements Massage . When I walked in I was greeted by a lovely lady who asked me to fill out some basic medical history. She then took me on a tour of the facility. When that was done Trudy was ready for me. She gave me a wonderful relaxing massage, which was what I wanted.
