I *highly* recommend this place- ESPECIALLY the massage therapist named Michael! He was incredibly knowledgeable, made me feel so comfortable, was professional while still being warm and friendly, and best of all, gave me the absolute greatest deep tissue massage I have ever had in my entire life. Not only that, but he was nice enough to write down all of his at-home care recommendations for me to take home with me! I suffered a a couple of fractures to my vertebrae last year and he was able to take this into account and go slowly while checking on how I was feeling the whole time. I was still able to get the amazing deep tissue work that I needed and not risk any sort of hurt to that area. I'll definitely be coming back for more massage therapy with him in the future, and I'm so thankful to have found this place. This company has an F rating on the better Business Report. I can see why! I purchased a Groupon that they will not honor cause I was a customer years ago. This franchise is different than Desert Ridge that lets you use a Groupon every six months. Excuse a customer for thinking all elements were the same. Don't use this place! Since you are the area manager for both locations and since I was a member of your location several years ago you would think you would honor this. This location is new to me - I'd never been there before. They sent me an email, offering me a free enhancement for my bday. That got my attention & so this morning I checked web site for availability & there were plenty of spots open for today. Probably b/c summer's not as busy. Out of the three choices - aromatherapy, Himalayan Salts and Cupping - I chose aromatherapy. I took advantage of the summer special (or first timers?) rate of $79.95 vs. $119.95. My MT's name was Brooke & here's the lowdown: YAYS! * Variety of strokes, including using forearms, which is an underused way to massage but provide relief to tense muscles * Good pressure * She worked on an unusual area - behind my ankle - that had tension NAYS! * Incredibly choppy massage b/c ------- Every time she did a stroke she went back & forth to the shelf where the massage lotion bottle sat to get a pump of massage lotion/gel & then mix it w/ the aromatherapy oil. This makes no sense for a few reasons & has got to be the most inefficient thing I've ever seen: 1. most other therapists either wear a belt to carry massage lotion on them or put bottle in their pocket 2. Why not pre-mix the massage gel w/ the aromatherapy beforehand so it's already mixed and available? Doing both of those things would have probably added 10 more minutes of hands-on massage time. Also: every time she "traveled" to the shelf, her hands came off my body so again not smooth - as the client I'm wondering what's coming up next. Will she go back to the same arm she's been working on or will she move to my back? That puts me, the client on alert, instead of being able to relax. I paid $10 more for this therapist b/c she's called "Elite" based on the volume of clients she's served &/or additional training/schooling. This is an Elements-specific feature. But this was not "Elite" service. Please re-train her so that she can provide a smooth, fluid massage b/c she has the foundational knowledge down to truly be "Elite." read more

Second Review, First review Manager asked me to take down, my experience started 3 weeks before valentines day when I called and asked for a Valentines day massage for me and my husband ( is very sick so this was a big deal for us) I requested off valentines from work, I work at a restaurant for tips, and I support my family this way. On valentines day the manager calls me and cancels, and informs me that it was scheduled for the 15th anyways. I hung up left a review, and she called me back and said she would make it right if I removed me review, so I did, she scheduled us for a couples massage free of charge for Wednesday, I said okay, at the end of the call I said let me just be sure I have this right Wednesday, Feb 26th, she said no its march 5th, the 26th is full. This is exactly how we got here, changing dates and not telling the customer. So here we are almost a month away. I took it off work, again. SHE CALLED ME ON MARCH 5th and canceled AGAIN! Not even joking! I said no way, she said she can get me in two more weeks, I asked what's to stop you from calling and canceling again, I cannot miss a third days work, this is no longer free its costing me and my family money, she said if that happens she will call another location and have someone else give us a massage. I told her no thanks, she said fine get a gift card on Monday the 10th that I can use at any elements across Arizona, it is now Friday. I've called twice, and the front desk has taken a message for her. Time is something I do not have a lot of, and for a business to not respect my time, it's truly the worst thing you can do. They have since charged me for a membership fee every month after canceling and I have to call and ask them to reverse the payment. There has been no apology or explanation from their end on how this is even able to happen. Horrible customer service... how is this even legal to do?! I purchased the wellness program from this location. I did this because it seemed like a good price and a way to ensure I was "good to myself". When I signed up the girl kept telling me I can use it any place in the United States. I had NO IDEA you can't use it across town! I happen to be at this location when I bought the package, but, now I am staying 45 minutes away in Chandler and I am mandated to use the treatments I am paying for at that location. That is a total of 90 minutes of my time in driving, the wear and tear on my car AND with the cost of gas it is a nightmare. There is another location 3 minutes from where I am staying but, Moon Valley won't allow me to use my credit anywhere but, at Moon Valley. Be aware before you sign up! It's completely inappropriate to have your phone out while your client is naked and face down. The only other issue I have is the reception doesn't keep change. I've been here 3 times now. I have a monthly appointment with Victoria. She is fantastic. She checks in at the beginning to see if there are any problem points that really need focus and then again throughout to make sure that she's using the proper pressure or if anything needs a little extra time. We've used the heated Himalayan stones and they are especially helpful when my back is really tight. OMG if I lived here, I would totally buy a monthly massage package. I had a super stressful month and really needed a massage. My back and neck was one giant knot. My massage therapist was Matthew he was amazing for me!! I am not a relax massage person I am a get the knots out massage person and I will endure the pain. I used to teach yoga and know that women carry a lot of stress in their hips. It is a place you really don't feel the tightness either until you have a massage therapist run his elbows and fore arms over your gluts. But the pain really carries through to the lower back very severely. It was a painful massage but I was able to yoga breath through it and remember this was by my choice but after I felt AMAZING. I don't think I have ever in my life been so relax after a massage. My body felt so good. He can of course go light in touch but he is very talented massage therapist. I would highly recommend because he knows what he is doing. The staff does push you a little to get a monthly subscription but it is not that bad. read more

He was so professional and extra sweet - between the appreciative nature and attitude of both him and the guy at the front desk, I felt so welcome. With social media and technology in general sort of ruling the world these days, it's refreshing to get something handwritten, or "snail mail". I decided to make an appointment with Element Massage at Moon Valley because my neck and shoulders aching me for days. The receptionist gave me the right massage therapist to help with my aching neck and shoulders. The massage place was very nice clean and calming when walking in. They were very welcoming, too. Massage Therapist Brooke was very nice. She asked me how she can help me and what areas to focus on. She was very friendly. The massage was wonderful! She gave me lots of recommendations for when I am at home. She gave me certain stretches that would help me. Also to add heat/ ice when my neck and shoulders start to hurt again and so much other recommended ideas to care for myself. After the massage, my neck and shoulder was feeling wonderful again. I like this location for the kind staff in general. I prefer Elements to MassGe Envy for a few reasons, but mainly their aromatherapy selection and their caliber of therapists is what sets them apart. So I call to book an appointment and the receptionist who answers was quick to make my appointment which was cool that they had an opening tonight but before I could ask important questions like cost, if they take hsa, etc she was about done booking me! I wasn't ready yet so I told her to hang on a minute as I need to ask additional questions. She told me the cost for me since I have been to an elements and even though I haven't been to their location would be $99. I said don't you have an introductory rate considering I never been to your location before? She told me to hang on as she checked her computer. It should be automatic if you haven't been to a location to receive the intro rate. At least that's what massage envy does. Anyways, I book my appointment and come in and I seen if you check in on yelp you receive a free aroma ritual therapy is what they call it here it's called aroma therapy at massage envy. So I ask her about it and she said junior my therapist is allergic to it so I cannot receive it. I asked her is there another service they can do instead? She tells me no. I already am having bad vibes and I haven't even gone into my massage yet! So I had my massage and I'd say it was average. So so. Nothing spectacular. My neck still was sore after as he didn't really get my neck as I like. And yes I did communicate with him the entire massage. I also felt I was cheated out of a few min cuz we started after 5 which was when my appointment was and ended at least 10 min before 6. So not even an hour. The first couple times I went there the therapist smelled like cigarettes and I was pregnant at the time so I was sensitive to smells. The 3rd time was good, I had a male therapist I think his name was Michael but he ended up leaving I stopped going after that. But recently my husband got me gift cards for Mother's Day here so I scheduled a massage a week ahead. I have two children and a job so my schedule is busy. They called me two hours before my appointment and canceled. They had no one else I could see at that time and not even a discount was offered. This review is based off of the 60 minute first time customer offer for $69. Long story short: Staff seemed nice enough, the massage was underwhelming, and the masseuse shorted me 1/4 of the time I paid for. Showed up on time to my massage scheduled for 3:30pm. Filled out paperwork and had a receptionist attempt to up-sell me on aroma therapy during my massage which took about 10 minutes. Went into the massage room and met the masseuse at about 3:40pm. The massage itself was not very relaxing or helpful. I mentioned I had a lot of tension in my upper back, which was worked on for a while, but then she just kept at my lower back with her elbows for what felt like a very long time. Really the only two areas that were worked on during the entire process, and later that night my sides felt like someone had been hitting me in the kidneys. Finally the masseuse said our session was over and left the room. this was at 4:25. I kept track of all these things because it was my first time there. While I was leaving the first thing the receptionist asked me was how I wanted to take care of gratuity, (I had already tipped the masseuse $20 against my better judgement) and I mentioned I had given cash. I then pointed out that I had been shorted 15 minutes of what I paid for, the response I got was "That's because she had someone booked right after you, and needed to get them taken care of"... So yeah. Awesome to know this place will take your money and short you in order to fit in less time. read more

Got a Groupon for a Mother's Day gift for a one hour massage. Mentioned the Groupon when I made the appointment. Also called to change my appointment and the receptionist mentioned me having a Groupon. I go in for my much needed and anticipated massage and at that time am told that since I'm a returning customer, the Groupon is not usable. My daughter didn't know I had already been to this establishment, yet they spoke to me twice with no mention of not being able to use groupon. I feel they do this on purpose to get us to then pay for a "reduced" fee massage. I left and didn't fall for their scam. I noticed other reviews with same complaint. My boyfriend and I decided to try out Elements Massage since it was close to our home and saw an online groupon deal so we wanted to try it out. Our initial visit wasn't set as planned since we requested for us to be in a couple's room but they placed us in separate rooms. My massage therapist was Valerie, which I thought was okay, she talked too much during the session so I couldn't really "relax" and unwind. My boyfriend's massage therapist was Art, which he said he did a great job working on his lower back where he gets pain occasionally. At our second appointment, they finally placed us in a couple's room, had an aromatherapy added into our package, and I tried Shea as my massage therapist and I must say, I am grateful to have met her because her hands are full of magic. As someone who gets regular massages I'm fairly picky and was looking for a new spot as my regular therapist had to move. I had my first massage with Priscila and will 100% be requesting her for every massage in the future. I always go in for deep tissue work and her pressure was perfect! She made sure to target all of the areas I mentioned and knew exactly how to get rid of knots that I had been struggling with for weeks!
