I go for my yearly cleaning and also learned with Dr. Santilli I need a night guard to protect my teeth from grinding at night. I never knew my bite was off until I visited Dr. Santilli. My last dentist would just clean my teeth and say thanks for visiting. Dr. Santilli looks at everything from teeth sensitivity, grinding, gum issues, etc. I really get a comprehensive analysis of my teeth here which really makes me feel comfortable and at ease with my experience every time I come to visit the dentist. I never knew I needed medication for my sensitive teeth until I visited doctor Dr. Santilli, the last dentist didn't address those major issues I had with my teeth hurting to hot and cold foods. She was very thorough with explaining everything I needed to know for the first visit. My husband and I were extremely impressed during our first visits. The dental hygienist was gentle around my problem areas and explained everything that she was doing prior to starting the procedure. She asked if I had any questions throughout the cleaning which I appreciated because I was very nervous. It is obvious that Dr. Slack takes pride in his work and cares about his patients. He was friendly and non-judgmental throughout the entire visit. At the end of the visit, Jessica met with me again and priced out all of the procedures recommended by Dr. Slack. She had my insurance information and gave me totals that I will pay out of pocket for each service. As a grad student with limited income, I really appreciate knowing this information upfront. The prices for all of the services were reasonable. In general, dental work isn't cheap, but Riverview Dental offers payment plans and multiple payment options for people who can't afford a huge payment at one time. Overall, I am very impressed with Riverview Dental. I will be recommending Dr. Slack and his staff to others who are looking for a dentist in the Columbus area.

They got the dentist on the phone who offered to take $100 off of the bill. 4 months later they send me a followup bill for the remaining $100 with a note that reads "I couldn't get permission to write off more", "more" meaning anything, despite the dentist approving the discount. $100 to a dental office is nothing and I understand they are never going to admit fault, but this would have gone a long way to keeping me as a patient. I understand that I am on blood thinners, but in the 8 months I have been on them I have never had a wound that wouldn't heal like that.

He was the same friendly person I had had experienced the first couple times. Calming my nerves is a key part of my visit and they understand me and my fear. Dr. Clay patiently went over my plan again walking me through the process, being totally honest about my concerns, reassuring me, helping me to find avenues in which I can get the procedures done. He's just amazing and his office staff is more amazing. I am so glad that I found Dr. Clay at Claybrooke Dental. A friend (who also fears the dentist) referred me to Dr. Sam and I am so thankful. I learned very quickly through this dental experience that the staff really makes all the difference. After my first visit with Dr. Sam I was referred out to a specialist for my actual root canal, and while the doctor there was good, his staff had left me in tears on more than one occasion. Dr. Sam and his staff came to my rescue even then, to get me in immediately, answer my questions, and just confirm that what I was experiencing was normal. Every single person I've interacted with through his office went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and heard. Dr. Sam also has this incredible calming presence, and he really takes his time to help you understand what he's explaining, draws pictures, and answers any and all questions. I started off absolutely loving Linworth Family Dental. I truly enjoyed my visits and cleanings in the beginning. The staff seemed close knit and their website appeared to bolster that sense of closeness. But after a couple of years, I noticed my favorite hygienists suddenly no longer working there. It started off with one or two staff, but then it felt like at the next appointment, I didn't recognize any of the hygienists. I understand that people move, change jobs, etc, but I was a little concerned. Another reason for my low rating is that with each passing appointment, more and more advertisements for beauty procedures (like Botox) were put on the walls. I've seen plenty of offices with pamphlets, which I understand, but it got to the point where they had a huge retractable banner in the lobby and pictures of clients (which happened to be staff) taped to the walls of every single exam room. It felt more like a cosmetic spa than a dentist office. An additional reason is that the cleaning during my last visit was very sloppy and rushed. The hygienist was a young girl who kept telling me about how stressed she was for losing the key fob to her dad's Mercedes Benz. She kept stopping to tell me the story instead of focusing on the cleaning. When it came time to put fluoride on my teeth, she globbed so much on that even my fiancé told me he'd never seen so much caked on someone's teeth (and lips) before. And the worst part? I was due to have my gums measured, which she told me at the beginning of my appointment, but she forgot to do it. I was so frustrated by the end that I didn't even bother to press. I just wanted to go. It was also at this appointment that I found out the dentist I had been seeing had left the practice. My last reason for why I won't be returning is because of the receptionists. My fiancé accompanied me to my last appointment and waited in the lobby while I had my cleaning. As we exited the building, he said he could hear the receptionists behind the front desk speaking poorly about a patient. He said it was uncomfortable sitting in the lobby hearing it all. I find that disheartening and unacceptable. TL;DR: Linworth Family Dental used to be a wonderful dentist office but the quality has gone downhill and the care is nowhere near what it used to be. We are a family of 8 and many of my companies employees are patients but nothing more than the briefest of introductions before starting in on my youngest. By the time we had left we had been admonished about his oral care, correcting his bite, expanding his palate, and potentially removing his tonsils. When I asked how I could expect compliance from a 7 year old to wear a retainer I was told ... take his iPad away from him if he doesn't ... or he will end up with a palate expander later. I am thankful that I many excellent long term relationships with orthodontists and ENTs who contradicted the given advice to give me a better and fuller understanding of this particular child's challenges. The final and completely unnecessary straw was having me sign a document acknowledging the price if his twin needed a tooth pulled ... because you can't just send the quote home with me- you need my signature... (because I'm 5.) Employees were all perfectly nice and no complaints about friendliness of employees or cleanliness and appearance of facility. The buck ends at the top though. At the end of the day it's about the attitude and relationship with the dentist. It's wasn't there for me that day.
