If I could rate this salon a 0 I would. I made an appointment for 1:30pm and got there a couple minutes early. I ended up waiting until 1:50pm for her to start on my nails. When she sat down, she had gloves on from her previous client (which was a pedicure) and started touching and filing down my nails! Within 10 minutes my nails were on, but most of my nails are crooked or barely hanging on. As soon as I thought it couldn't get worse she started painting my nails and doing French tips! Each white tip is a different thickness/length. She was too busy rushing through my nails to get to the next client to even care about the look of her work. I will not be returning to this "salon". read more

I love these ladies- they are the only ones I go to for pedicures. Clean environment and friendly staff who always pay attention.

They were very friendly. I had an appointment for a full set and they squeezed in time for a pedi last minute. The lady who did my nails let me change my mind lol. My nails look awesome and she did an amazing job on my pedi which I got white tips! read more

I got a gel manicure at Elegant Nails recently and I will never go back. Steer clear of this place. It was by far and away the worst manicure I've ever had in my life. Firstly, my nail tech was extremely unprofessional and was constantly on her phone. At one point, she even took a personal call and left the salon, only to return with bags of groceries. Her work was sloppy, rushed and downright unacceptable. It was very apparent that she was putting very little effort into the manicure-- she did not even trim my cuticles or bother to clean up the polish she carelessly applied all over my nail groove. From start to finish, the gel manicure lasted under 15 minutes, and that was after I had to ask her to apply top coat. In addition to the terrible and lazy service, I was mortified by the condition of their nail dryer and other equipment. It was filthy and poorly maintained. I left feeling like I had wasted $30. My friend, however, had Kara who did a great job on her nails. She even trimmed some of the polish that had spilled over into my nail groove after she noticed me looking at it in dismay. If you do decide to try this place, which I would strongly discourage, request Kara as your nail tech. read more

But they just like, I'll just come back at 5 tonight, and we'll do it the right way. Never agon is this business getting my money or my time it was a complete waste of time . read more

I asked for a fill with gel polish. All of the polish on my nails has chipped and it's definitely not gel. I also had to cut them all short because they were all uneven!!! My 16 year old daughter got hers done same time as I did and all of her nails have come off!!! I called them to tell them about these issues but nobody in that place could understand what I was even saying. I am extremely dissatisfied with that place and I would never recommend them to anybody ever. read more

Terrible. Made an appointment for 1, they had me sit in a chair at 1:10 and at 1:45 they decided to say they only take cash or check. Looked around and have not seen it posted anywhere. And all the walk ins were taken care of before us - read more

Great manicure! I lucked out and was taken right away as a walk in on a Friday afternoon, despite their being booked as I found out from other people trying to walk in after me. Clean, fast, and courteous service. Large color selections for both regular and gel. If I'm ever in the area again I would definitely be a repeat customer. I only took off one star because in New York you always get a shoulder massage as well as the hand/arm massage and I didn't receive one, though that may be a regional thing. The hand/arm massage I did receive was only okay. read more

Elegant Nails - Clean nail bed lines, didn't hurt my cuticles, and the shape is perfectly what I requested. Happy customer. - Nail Salons Near Me - Bangor, Maine

I used to go here all the time, and they were the best. I haven't been there for a few years but my son got me a gift card there. I've gone twice. I did French tips. First of all, they don't use the pink acrylic, so they started to turn yellow after a few days. Secondly, less than a week after having them put on, they were lifting everywhere and one fell off. I went back and told them what was happening. First, they told me not to use hand lotion because that was causing them to turn yellow. Then she cut most of them off and filled them, and still charged me for that, even though it had only been a week. So after that, again less than a week after they fixed them, one fell off and the rest were lifting again. It hasn't been two weeks since I had them fixed and I have one nail left on. Very disappointed. Never going back. read more

We came in around 11 am to get three mani-pedis, but were told to make a reservation at 3:30. No problem. Came back at 3:30 and were told we needed to wait another 30 minutes to be served. Never again. Their polishes were janky and clearly watered down. And they overcharged. read more

Walked in at 9:40 a.m pretty much at open. There were already a few people in there, but they got me right in. Pedicure, manicure and full set. As i was there, a lot of people came in. they did their best to accommodate everyone and gave people times to come back. They were fast and did a great job. Unusually i hate sitting there for a long time but i was in and out.. read more

If you are looking for a pleasant atmosphere ; stay away. Stoney silence. Except when they exclude you by not speaking English! There are some nice people here. But two of them, and I think one is the owner; are really grouchy. They act angry and inconvenienced by your presence. One lady scowls and slams things around. Intimidating. I tried to call for almost two days for appointment but they won't answer the phone. Then they are mad cause you didn't have an appointment. If you are lucky enough to get Kim, you will be happy - she is terrific. I am sad for the ones that are actually nice and somewhat professional , some of these people are just not suited to deal with the public , I am sad to say. read more

My first experience was great. The guy who works here did my nails (acrylic with gel) and I loved them. I came again and got an older woman. She kept forgetting to turn on the light to dry my nails and when I got in my car right after I bumped my thumb against something and the paint came right off! By that night the paint was almost completely off one thumb and one pointer finger and I had large scrapes on three of my other nails. NOT happy. I went back and they fixed my nails but refused to give me any of my money back. They had to file my nails down again and I lost two weeks from my set. The guy actually got really mad when I asked. read more

I have gone here periodically since Fall of 2019. Each time I have come, they have done a really nice job with my nails. From acrylics to pedicures, they never disappoint. During COVID, they've increased their sanitizing procedures and made me feel like I was in a safe and extremely clean environment. I love this salon! read more

Unfortunately my experience at Elegant Nails was subpar to say the least. From the moment we entered the building for our appointment the environment was cold and not friendly. There were long wait times and the appointment was overall rushed. To top off a not so great experience the tech had every acrylic nail on my finger a different length (very short- after asking for long nails) and crooked. When I told her I wasn't very happy with the length she rudely ripped them all off and told me to wait in the corner until someone else could do my nails. As it sounds and as you can imagine, this was quite painful. Other staff seemed friendly but unfortunately at the risk of having this tech I would never ever recommend this salon to anyone. read more

Don't bother to call to make an appointment. I tried for 3 days and no one would answer. My mom had made an appointment last time she was in and wanted to join her. Forget that. They told me it would be a few hours. No one was in the pedicure chair when we arrived at 9am. read more

This salon is poorly run and does not take feedback from their customers on the quality of their work.

Drove an hour here when I couldn't get an appointment in Belfast. Cash only so come prepared. I live outside of DC and have plenty of options- had to make the drive here to get my nails done. Sam was great. He put the acrylics on with gel polish for $40 which was affordable. His service was fast and efficient. The place is mega clean and the service is very friendly. Not sure what some of the other reviewers were talking about. There is an ATM in the same plaza for you to grab cash if needed like I did. I will return when I'm in town. Also had amazing pedicure chairs which were very relaxing. read more

I didn't even stay to receive the pedicure! I had called the day before to schedule an appointment. When I called them what time I wanted I was told there was no need to make an appointment because it won't be busy at that time. Well, when my mother and I arrived there was a thirty minute wait. When I explained what had happened the woman basically told us that we were lying about the phone call and that we should've called to make an appointment. Really?! I tried but I wasn't given the option. The woman at the counter rolled her eye multiple times at my mother and I. At that point I realized the business manners were just not there. I left my polish on the counter and left. I have never been treated so poorly at a place of business. I would not recommend Elegant Nails to anyone if this is the way they are going to treat their customers. read more

These guys were great! They had a great selection of colors, as well as UV shilac polishes as well (which is what i was looking for at the time). Went for a mani-pedi and had a lovely time. Chairs were comfy and clean. Prices reasonable. People were very welcoming and friendly. Is for sure my new "Go-To" spot in Bangor! read more

Very efficient, have plenty of colors to choose from. I withhold the extra star because they only take check or cash

Had a great morning here with my mother and sister. A mani and a pedi for $35!!! The technicians were friendly and fast. The chairs are great and my mother got some lovely nail art for her birthday. I don't think that they are clean at all, their floor is very duty. They gave me very fast service, they wanted me to just in and out and not care about my nails. When I got home my nails already chip off. I don't recommend to have your nails to be done here. read more

I'm super disappointed with my experience here today. I always get my nails done here when I'm in Maine visiting my mom because my friends had recommended it and I've gotten good service. Today was a nightmare. I went in to get a full set done. I didn't have an appointment and I only waited 15 minutes which was fine. I showed the technician exactly how I wanted my nails done (stiletto/pointy style) before he even started. He commented on how ugly he thought it was but said he could do it. Everything was fine until he got to shaping my nails. He tried the first one and I told him that wasn't the way I like it. He did it some more and I told him politely that it was still wrong. He told me he would not do it the way I wanted and that he'd rather take off the whole set he'd just put on than do it. I told him to just finish what he was doing and I'd fix it when I got home. I was extremely upset and just wanted to get out of there at this point. The rest of the time he was doing my nails he was extremely rough and rude. When I got up to wash the cuticle oil off my hands he left the room and made someone else paint my nails. I had told her I wanted a french manicure but she rushing so bad I told her not to bother and just paint them all one color. I couldn't believe how poorly I was treated here. I am not a picky customer and this was the first time I've ever had to go home and fix a brand new set of nails myself. This was an embarrassing and horrible experience. I will not be back. read more

Went with my daughter-in-law and my granddaughter, for her 8th birthday. I had a mani, daughter-in-law had a pedi, birthday girl had mani-pedi. They were very nice and did an excellent job. This nail salon should be a last resort, I would not recommend it nor will I go again.
