I have short hair and I wanted long extensions to do a half and half updo. She color matched my extensions exactly to my hair color and did exactly what I wanted her to do with my hair and it turned out absolutely beautiful! She also did my new mother-in-law's hair and my matron of honor's hair and they looked absolutely gorgeous also. where do I begin!? my birthday spa day experience was everything that I could've hoped for. 5 years…read morecoming. 5 hours of service. 55th Birthday loading. my universe aligned for this very moment. started with a massage by Dain. those arm and leg pulls were everything! I have a neck sensitivity and he had me so relaxed that I didn't flinch once! he even massaged my ears! that was a pleasant surprise. I would've expected that during the facial, if at all. massage was followed by a facial by Markiah. she throughly cleansed my face and offered some products to use for my skin type. then she massaged, moisturized, and gave my hands a heat treatment. that was yet another unexpected surprise. after each service i was greeted with some water by my attendants waiting outside the rooms. everything was so clean and organized. Ciara had set aside an hour for me to enjoy lunch. I requested sushi (my favorite). it was ordered and delivered to the spa. Ciara set me up comfortably in the serenity room. I enjoyed my meal in a peaceful environment while reading and reflecting. after lunch I had a manicure and pedicure by Nila. she song happy birthday to me in Phillipino and gave me her Nutty Buddy ice cream cone to enjoy during my pedicure. it was a very nostalgic moment for me. growing up in the 70s, eating one of my memorable childhood treats. the salt scrub, paraffin wax, and hot towels added to the experience. the restrooms were clean. the locker room was very inviting. offering showers, toiletries, robes, and slides/shoes. like real shoes! lol. I didn't explore the whole facility but saw various products display areas. I mostly floated from room to room. lol. and at the end of my services. (I could've hung out til closing. they have blankets and pillows on the couches in the serenity room.) Ciara gave me a gift bag (I can't wait to open it). it made me realize the importance of taking the time for self care and I plan to make a spa visit part of a monthly ritual. the facility is BEAUTIFULLY decorated and inviting. if I was to have one "con" it would be the inner rooms decor. its basically bed or chair and service supplies. some plants, stones, or something of that nature would've definitely added to the inviting environment. but thats something very slight as 99% of the times your eyes are closed!!! lol. I had Sierra give me a cut and a shave maybe 4 months back or so…read more She was phenomenal! She gave me the best shave I had in a while - and really helped me understand how to plan for my next haircut, she even wrote down the style of cut and lengths I should ask for if I didn't make it back to her for my next cut (I lived out of the country at the time of the haircut and was just visiting) Since I have moved back to Maine, I wanted Sierra to cut my hair again - so I called and asked if I Sierra was there, a woman confirmed she was there - but told me I couldn't schedule an appointment with her, because the business is strictly walk-in only. I asked to speak to Sierra and she just pretended like I didn't even ask, and said that if I, "Come right now, since no one is in the shop." I could probably get her. So... Sierra - 5 stars. I was really looking to have a regular visit with you. The business structure just doesn't work for me, as I have limited time and require appointments. To the business... 2/5. And here's why: Prices are fair. the only good experience with the business itself. When I moved back to Maine 6-8 weeks ago - I called and explained my experience with Sierra and explained I forgot her name/what chair she was at. I said I think it was the first chair - and the lady who answered the phone goes, "Oh! I remember you, yeah!" and told me to come in. When I got in, I let her know she definitely wasn't the person who cut my hair and she let me know it was Sierra. I asked this new girl, let's call her "First chair lady"... not to cut the right side of my hair and to let it grow. She got distracted with conversation - and completed trimmed 3/4" off the right side of my head... That I was attempting to grow out entirely and completely screwed up the plan and path that Sierra helped me understand would give me the desired hairstyle. Cut was $14 - I gave her $20 and told her to keep it. Even when you displease me as a customer, I still treat your employees well. And you can't let me build a relationship with one person in your shop? Absurd. So, to anyone reading: 1.) Don't let the lady in the first chair cut your hair. Or if you do - make sure she doesn't talk with the other girls in the shop when she is cutting your hair. 2.) Sierra is truly an example of a professional who enjoys and understands her duties - and executes them exceptionally well. (second chair, I learned that after the mistake of a haircut I was given on my last visit) 3. They don't do appointments apparently. Good luck with the barber chair roulette. It took me TWO MONTHS to get the right side of my hair back where it was. Now I have to try to find another barber shop. -.- If you read this Sierra - Please post a reply so I can get in contact with you. I would absolutely pay you, with a generous tip - if you could find a way to cut my hair privately, outside of your working hours... Since your business can't accommodate my schedule. Thanks Sierra.
