This was one of the best and most personalized shopping experiences I have ever had! After having a baby and finishing my breastfeeding journey, I was starting from square 1 on bras. I visited and had a personalized and thorough fitting/shopping session with lovely staff and the owner who were so helpful and supportive. I learned the 4 steps of how to put on a bra properly (who knew!? And they truly make such a difference!) and I got a proper fitting for the first time ever. The staff was there to personally select bras that would be good options for me and help with the fit for each one. I had someone in the dressing room with me helping me through each try-on and it wasn't awkward, just so helpful! They have a great selection and a sale section too! I can tell these bras are nice quality and worth it. I have been struggling through cheaply made bras bought online that don't fit and this has been a huge improvement for me. There are so few GOOD places to shop for a bra. The women working there were kind, professional, and very helpful. I was fitted, and had several different styles to choose from to find the best fit possible. They encouraged me to try the bras before placing an order for more- which I found to be refreshing. They weren't trying to push an inferior product. The only thing I wish is that they carried more color variety in stock- even just black. They take the time to really understand what brought you through the door and what you need - what is functional, comfortable, and makes you feel good about yourself. They take measurements and gather a wide selection for you to try, and they wait patiently with you through the whole process to make sure you walk out the door with the best fit possible! The person helping me even gave me a crash course in how to put myself into the bra for the best look and feel and the cadence for wearing/washing. My entire bra fitting experience was pleasant. The youngish staff member was knowledgeable & helpful. Unfortunately, she chose to put me in a bra that was too snug. When I explained to the younger woman that the bra size she suggested and that I tried on was too snug; she proceeded to explain her logic for the chosen size bra. I understood her logic. However; the particular bra size was still uncomfortable. The staff member suggested taking the bra home & wearing it a few times and suggested the bra would loosen up. It has a tiny bit. It is still not comfortable to wear any length of time. I phoned and spoke with the manager; she reiterated the same logic as the staff member who fit me/ the bra the first time. I explained to the manager that no bra should be so snug that it hurts to wear it. She didn't seem to hear me. The manager offered me to come in & pick up a bra extender. read more

I wanted to love this place since finding a bra in my size is difficult, but due to their pricing and return policy (and one instance with the owner I overheard) I will not be returning. I recently went into the store out of desperation with my growing chest due to pregnancy and as I was waiting to be fitted I overheard the male owner having a back-and-forth with a woman who was there with a man and child, and I'm assuming she was looking for an employee who wasn't there that day based off of what I heard. His behavior towards her was incredibly rude and she eventually left the store. When it was time to be fitted I was taken back and eventually ended up in a larger band and cup size (of course) and while at the store and the remainder of that day it felt great while wearing it so I took the tag off. But over the next two days the bra grew increasingly uncomfortable to wear and the band is constantly sliding up my back and the straps digging into my shoulders. I believe she measured me two band sizes up from what I really am to accommodate any more growth but right now it's just still too big even on the shortest hooks. But given that this is the second time I've purchased a bra there that felt great at first and grew more and more uncomfortable, I won't be spending my money there anymore. This time I'm out $80 for one bra that was already a stretch to be spending on. read more

From the moment that you walk through the door you are magically transported from a store front in Naperville to what I believe to be a Parisien Boutique. The staff could not be more attentive as you browse the amazing variety of undergarments. I found this gem of a store while looking for a shop that deals in mastectomy bras and prosthesis. Most other shops, who will remain nameless, carry very few styles and in my opinion, look like horse harnesses. All the feminine appeal of a wet dish cloth. The woman who does the consultation for your fitting rarely has to use a tape measure. She can look at you and tell you what size that you are. I have been dealing with this since I had breast cancer at age 24. I'm several years older now but still have my sensuality and I want to look beautiful. Imagine my surprise at seeing beautiful bras that are designed for the two breasted among us, but still work with prosthesis too. Many have other matching garments as well. Something for every size, style and taste. You can shop with confidence and your head held high. No long coat or brown paper bags here. I've been here several times and have not seen any " stripper outfits. " I have not been to the shop since the Covid restrictions, so I believe that they are following all of the requirements. I was in need of some underthings that were ideally both practical and pretty, and I'd heard of Elegance Underneath, a purveyor of lingerie in my very own Naperville, so I took a look. I was assisted by Teri, who fitted me, found suitable styles in the right sizes, gave tips on how to put the bras on best (I of course knew to scoop the girls into the cups, but she suggested to jiggle the whole cup to settle things once it was on), and provided other tips I didn't know (i.e. don't wear the same bra two days in a row, to allow the elastic and spandex in the bra to rest and thus extend the life of the bra). This boutique is definitely upscale, both in atmosphere and price. The bras that I tried ran about $70-80 and the knickers were in the $50 range. Very nice brands and styles, though heavy on beige if you look at the wall where they're mostly displayed (Teri told me what styles came in other colors, and they can be special ordered if they don't carry them on-hand, but I wanted to make sure I liked wearing them first). I should say (though it's probably inferrable from what I've said above) but if you're bothered by strangers being all up in your business, this type of shop won't be for you. This isn't the sort of place where they're handing things over the dressing room door to you; you're sans top and the fitter is helping you try things on. We all have different comfort levels, so this may be too much for some, but it's of course professional, and helpful too, since you can get in and out of the bras a lot faster than if you were trying to latch and unlatch them all yourself. I found some items that suited my needs and made my purchase; a few days later, I received a Christmas card in the mail from Teri thanking me for my business and including a coupon. This rounded out the experience nicely and went the extra mile. Elegance Underneath also offers post breast surgery products for those who require such services. I came in to get re-fitted for a bra the last time I was there it was 2014 it's a nice mom and pop lingerie store. The lady fitted me again realized I was the same size as before. I tried on a bra it didn't fit that's all she had in my size. Her advice was to go check out Walmart for something better fitting in my size. I thanked her and said OK I will. Upon walking out she made a very ignorant remark saying or you could just gain 20 pounds. I feel like this is very ignorant, and I also feel like she should know better especially being in the business of catering towards people who have had breast surgery, and underwent cancer treatments.. (no I did not have breast surgery, but I have a bunch of medical conditions that make it nearly impossible for me to retain nutrients, and gain weight no matter how hard I try!! I've been trying to put on 5 to 10 pounds for the last God knows how long. I didn't really need that remark to remind me that I can't gain weight for the life of me. What if I had been a cancer patient, and I was really skinny from undergoing treatment?, and she had made that remark. Either way I feel it's the same but just making a comparison to show people how hurtful that can be. read more

Buyer beware.....no returns!!! The staff is very helpful and friendly when you're making a purchase, but if you have a return, it's an entirely different story. I bought a bra from there and was told I had 14 days to return it. I wasn't finding a bra that I fell in love with there and this was the only one that was 'okay'. When I got it home, the lace was itchy. I still had the tags on it (I only tried it on at home). When I went to return it, they would only give me an in-store credit, even though there is NOTHING there I am interested in purchasing. They were very rude and said that's their policy. I will NEVER go there again and will never recommend them. I lost $60, beyond disappointed. read more

This could possibly be a landmark for nude lingerie in the burbs. Now, I'm not normally a sensible kind of person, I tend to lean towards the outrageous, colorful, flirty types of lingerie and was a taken aback by the selection until I motored over to the sales racks. Separated by size, there are several different styles from demi to full cup, lacy to padded. Now, being completely OCD crazed when it comes to having matching tops and bottoms, I scoured through the sale items and found myself more in tuned with the nighties than the intimates (only because the buttercup yellow demi was cute as a button, but was missing a matching bikini). Not that there weren't nice items because there were lovely pieces but my mind was set evening style. Prices range depending on what you're looking at. For a colorful demibra you're looking at spending some dough, depending on the brand, but given the sales it knocks it down a good amount. The nighties and evening sets are considerably affordable and very cute and flattering. Though I didn't walk out with anything, I definitely walked out with an idea of the merch that is carried and some of the pieces that could easily be added to an undergarment collection. Donna was a love and offered great offerings including a proper sizing but for the fire in my wallet I was looking for something a little different for this visit. I'll keep Elegance on the radar as their sales are hard to beat. read more

I just discovered Elegance Underneath today. I can't rave enough! The personal attention was top notch. I love that they didn't pressure me into buying anything. She told not to buy anything I wasn't a 100% in love with, even if that meant not buying anything. Which means, they don't charge you for the fitting like some other local stores do. I did walk out with a new bra though! I loved it so much that I walked out with it on! I will definitely be back and will recommend to all of my friends! Thank you for such a great experience. Best place to go for a bra fitting. They have a lot of styles and it is full service. They measure and bring you options and in my instance they got me a bra and accessories that made it more comfortable, and lingerie wash. I would recommend this over a department store (like Macy's) where there is usually only one sales person and that person may or may not know anything about how to measure and fit. They are pricey compared to an exceptional department store sale but not compared to Victoria's Secret. read more

Believe me, you cannot find a good fitting bra on line! And, don't ever think that you know your size! Beware of anyone who asks you "what is your size" whenever you walk into a lingerie shop! I don't even know where to begin. I've never been properly fitted for a bra in my life (I'm about to celebrate my 50th birthday). I got tired of wasting money on expensive bras that just never fit right. I'm a large woman and was so nervous that I would walk into the boutique and be told that they didn't have anything that would fit me. BOY WAS I WRONG! Upon entering the store I was greeted by a very friendly young lady. While I waited for the fitter (for only a few short minutes) I looked around and discovered the boutique to be very charming. Dawn, my fitter, greeted me as if I was the most important customer in the world. She took me in a room, told me to lift the girls up and proceeded to measure me from behind and said she would be right back with some selections. I thought to myself...she's gonna bring the wrong size and this will have been a wasted trip. WRONG AGAIN! Every single bra she brought in fit me perfectly! She explained how to wear a bra properly, how to adjust the girls in the bra, how to take care of my new bras, what style to wear with particular types of clothing and so much more. I actually got a bra education. I should also say that Dawn was very professional and I felt completely comfortable with her...this is so important when your girls are swinging in the breeze in front of a stranger and that stranger is helping you stuff them into these contraptions (which I'm convinced were invented by a man) BUT I DIGRESS... It wasn't until I was checking out that I learned I had been wearing bras that were 2 to 3 sizes too small on me and that all 5 of the bras I was purchasing were all different sizes. It just goes to show that what Dawn said was true... You should never buy a bra without trying it on because different manufacturers offer different fits. I actually wore one of the bras out of the store and I was so happy to have the girls back up where they belong that I was in tears as I hugged Dawn and left the store. Then today I got a hand written card from Dawn. Nobody does that anymore! Talk about feeling that my business is appreciated!! I highly highly highly recommend the store!!! The owner was the one who did the fitting, and she was fabulous!! The entire experience was easy and totally not awkward at all. She had me try on about 10 bras and I loved them all! She taught me how to properly fit a bra. I have been wearing the wrong size for years. I went home and tried on my old bras and could not believe how poorly they fit compared to my new bras. My experience was not good. I had had a mastectomy years ago and needed to get bras and a prosthesis. I am on Medicare and asked when I was making an appt if she worked with Medicare. I was told she did. During my appt she told me Medicare pays for 6 bras every year and for a prosthesis every other year. I picked out everything and she took a copy of my insurance card. She said her husband would be in the next day to do the paperwork and that if there were any problems he would call. ( I did not receive any call) They bagged my items and then asked how I was going to pay. I was shocked. Never before had I had to pay. She assured me the way it works is that I pay up front and then in 2 to 3 weeks I would receive a check for the full amount. I feel I was totally misled. I did receive a check but it was not for the full amount. I called Medicare and they said "never go to a place you need to pay up front - that is not how it should work" I will never return to this store and would advise anyone on Medicare not to go either. Find a place where you do not have to pay anything out of pocket. read more

I really liked my experience here. The lady was friendly and did her best to make me feel comfortable with her in my Tata area. We chatted about her life and my upcoming vacation. I just started my Spring cleaning and I came across a letter from her-thanking me for my business and asking how my vacation went, that's the kind of small details that will get me coming back. I have bought numerous bras at Elegance Underneath. The salespeople were wonderfully helpful in choosing styles and professionally fitting the bras. The personal attention is much appreciated. The store has a wide variety (both styles and sizes) of quality bras like Wacoal and Chantelle which stand up to wear extremely well. I have been very happy with all my purchases there. It is difficult to find a lingerie store where the emphasis is on quality merchandise and proper fit and Elegance Underneath fits the bill. While the bras are expensive, any bra of a quality worth buying is expensive. I highly recommend this store for anyone looking for quality bras fitted properly. read more
