I'm not someone who typically writes negative reviews, but this experience warrants one. This was, without question, the worst manicure I've ever received (the photo speaks for itself). Even though the final result was visibly poor, I was still charged $45. The technician appeared inexperienced, as if he had never done a full set before. The nails were uneven, poorly applied, and frankly embarrassing. I had them removed as soon as possible, and just one week later my nails developed an infection ("greenies") -- something I have never experienced before -- clearly due to improper application and sanitation. To make matters worse, I was not offered or given a refund. I strongly recommend avoiding this salon. If zero stars were an option, that's what I would give. read more

Nicest ladies, wonderful pedicures. Always do the best job, and very nice to talk to.

I'm giving 2 stars only because they got me in for a last minute pre vacation mani/pedi..otherwise it would have been 1 star. I'm not sure if they didn't let any layers dry enough or perhaps it was the polish they used, either way within one day my nails looked like garbage. Scratches and smudges. After 7 days it looks like a mani/pedí from 2 months ago. I only have a one day turn around between trips and now I have to scramble and take time i dont have to fix this mess. read more

I had an appointment at another salon And when I got there I was told I would have to wait an hour! Nope! I went to another salon across the parking lot and walked and got the most amazing service! My hair had a relaxed shape and now I tried to blow dry it into shape and it just flips out. I am not going back. I just wanted the ends off and she took off too much and said she had to do it for harmony. There is no harmony in my hair now whatsoever. read more

I feel bad writing this review because they are really nice there but this is the 2nd of 4 total times I've been there and had a less than stellar outcome. I won't bother with the first time, it was at least 3 years ago (I'm visiting family) but this time I thought I'd review since it was with hesitation I even went back. Anyway, for an acrylic fill I couldn't have been happier at how quickly it went (my usual salon takes over an hour but the results are perfection), 45 minutes, but it shows in the workmanship. I'm sure I could have done better myself. The acrylic looks like blobs on my nails and the nail polish looks like my 5 year old did it. In the 4 times I've been there I've seen plenty of happy returning customers. They all chat and clearly have been customers for awhile. Unfortunately I won't be one of those customers. read more

First of all, they run on salon time here. Your best bet is to just walk in during a slow day/hour, because appointments don't really mean anything on a busy day, they just take whoever shows up first. I called at 12 and was told to come in for an acrylic set at 1pm, which I did, but I didn't get into a chair until 1:45 because they were still finishing 2 customers and took 2 more before me. I got the acrylic set, and it's passable. Nailed the overall look/design, but too flawed and uneven for me. I wouldn't go back for another one. To be fair I do have really short bitten nails, but that only affected my nail bed, not the tips. The lady who did them blew through it at top speed. I get that there was a lot of business to be had that day, but you shouldn't blow through clients so fast it affects the quality. OH one last thing. Like many salons, they will try to make you choose a gel polish even if you don't want one, because it costs more. If you really want to save those couple bucks, you will have to ask specifically where the normal nail polishes are. Nice ladies, gave me exactly what I wanted design-wise, good price at $40 (as long as these last the week). But they're not doing the best work and I won't be going back. This was my second time to give Elegance a try for my dip manicure. The first time he made them too thin and they broke, but I intended to ask for 3 rounds of powder this time to hopefully rectify that. But, look at this pic. My nails look like Greek yogurt. Like my un-Facetuned thighs. Not only did she not file them evenly or in the shape I asked for, but she didn't drill them after to even them out (she did because I asked, but it was half-ass and like didn't do much.) If you don't know how to do this manicure, why do it and leave people with cottage cheese fingers? Will not be back. Wish there was half way decent salons in HMB but guess I'm driving down the hill. read more

I was really disappointed with my nails, I got a gel manicure done on a Sunday, it started peeling the same day. I went back to get it fixed & still looked really bad. I went back once again the next day, to get them fixed and I was blamed for it, According to them I was picking on my nails. I asked her to just remove the gel, she did but left my nails looking really rough and with a lot of texture. read more

There are like 3 or 4 nail salons within walking distance of our new place....and I decided to give these guys a try first because they have good yelp reviews. But unfortunately, I ended up with the single worst manicure of my life (and I have had acrylics nonstop for the last ten years straight). I'm giving them one star for taking me as a walk-in and because they were SO nice and polite and sweet. Taking off a star for cash and check only - no credit or debit cards accepted. And taking off the rest of the stars for the crappy mani I ended up with. I came in for a fill yesterday. The guy who did my nails had a kind of weird approach to it. Ok, I figured maybe he has his own routine, whatever. But before I knew it, he was putting the UV gel on and putting my hands in the UV dryer. He completely skipped two very important steps - using the fine-grain Dremel bit to smooth the acrylic (he ONLY used the rough one and my nails were like sandpaper) and he didn't use a buffer block either. So when my nails were dry, they came out totally rough and uneven. The entire surface of every single one. WTF. I'm gonna hit up the shop next door to them later and ask if they can fix this mess of a manicure for me. Jeez. And on an unrelated note....maybe I should submit myself to whitewhine.com. Came here with a bridal party of 5 -a day before the wedding without appointments- and they accommodated us all for mani/ pedis on a Friday afternoon. Lovely, clean salon and friendly people who run this place. Rickski (sp?) did my shellac manicure and he did a nice job trimming my cuticles gently and with good attention to detail. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for a decently priced manicure or pedicure. read more

Such a disappointment. An older woman greeted me and did my manicure, she was really nice, but left in the middle of my manicure to do something else for 10 minutes. My gel/shellack nails started peeling after 2 days which shocked me since they usually last 2+ weeks. A younger woman did my pedicure while she yelled at someone on her cell phone for most of the time. She was very distracted and clearly didn't care that she was causing discomfort to those around her. I felt bad for the wedding party that came in for a "spa experience", they were obviously really disappointed by the cell phone yelling too. Near the end of my pedicure she finally got up and walked away to finish her phone conversation elsewhere. I was grateful for the improvement in ambiance, but was surprised that she never came back to finish. Finally one of the other employees seemed to notice that I was looking around wondering what to do- she came over and finished my pedicure. Trying to leave was similarly awkward, I had to climb over 6 other women getting pedicures to get out... an act made more challenging with little paper sandals. I suppose they made good use of the space they have, but with all the pedicurists sitting in the walk way, couldn't they just get up for a moment when someone needed to leave? The lack of conscientiousness that I witnessed had be wondering if I was on a hidden camera TV show. Thoroughly weird. Poor customer service, poor quality. read more

I was here today to color my roots (just roots). I'm from out of town visiting for two months and I made an appt at 10:15. The owner had me wait 45 minutes and then applied the wrong color. She definitely does not know to do hair and I'm wondering if she even has a license. She applied the WRONG color with her bare hands! I have been getting my hair dyed for decades and I've never seen a stylist apply color without gloves. She did not know what she was doing. I had her wash my hair out before the dye took and I left. I don't think they have their license to do hair. They are horrible I can't see how anyone would give them a license for hair. Do not waste your time like I did. read more

I had a wonderful experience at this salon. I am 9 months pregnant (and very uncomfortable) and decided last minute that I needed a pedicure as a treat. Elegance Salon is close to my house so I dropped in without an appointment and they were able to see me right away. Everyone was very very friendly and the massage chair was comfortable. The sweet women who did my pedicure (I wish I got her name) did a great job and I am very happy with the results. Friendly, affordable, and very convenient. I will definitely be back. read more

This was the WORST experience I have ever had at a nail salon. Leaving a nail salon crying with bloody fingers is something that should never happen. My nails were buffed with the filer, but so were the rest of my fingers... She didn't let me see my nails the whole time she was doing them, from the shoving of my hands in and out of the heater to roughly dragging my hands around. When I finally got to see my nails, none of them were the same length. When I pointed it out and asked her to fix them, she complained saying that most people like their nails long, apparently even if a couple are shorter then the others. I felt like they were going to start bleeding from the start, but they only started bleeding after she was roughly trying to make them all the same length. When I pointed out that she cut my fingers with her nail file, she only went on with the process. The stinging of the lotion that she put on my fingers only made me want to cry. Hopefully she had not cut any other fingers with those files, for all I know I could now have some disease from any one else she cut.... read more

Best customer service. Friendly welcoming attitude. My grandmother has been coming here for years and wouldn't dare see anyone else about her nails. I'd have to say I am almost the same. The staff was very courteous and the paint on my toes and nails looks professional. The downside- 50 bucks for a just meh mani-pedi. I've spent that at a full service spa and it included paraffin and a wonderful massage! This was more like a paint color change. I actually had to use a buffer on my heels because they were catching the sheets that night (dang I hate that!!). Granted, I did get gel polish, but I recently got the same service at a much nicer salon (with hand and foot massage!) for $45 with tip. Waaaay overpriced for mediocre service. read more

I've always come in for a mani/pedi, but this last time I brought in my sister and mother-in-law a day before my wedding. I made an appointment since we wanted all three chairs at the same time. My in-laws absolutely loved it! I am ever so grateful for the time they put into each one of us. I got the French tip nails for my ceremony and they did a marvelous job. I stopped by for my first pedi here today and I really regret not having tried this salon before. I got what might be the best pedicure I've had in my whole life. My cuticles were very carefully and gently neatened up, I was given a nice leg and foot rub, and my red polish was expertly and evenly applied. My toes are perfectly done. The woman who did my pedi also made pleasant conversation throughout and made me feel very welcome. If you're tired of mixed results on the coastside, you need to give Elegance Salon a try. read more

I wish they could spruce this place up a little with some nice paint and better art on the walls because for the price, this salon is the best for mani-pedi's. I have been to all the salons in town (in this price range) and these guys are cheaper and better. It would be super if they just spent about 1 more minute on a decent massage...I'm telling you Elegance Salon owners...a little paint, more massage and you could develop quite a following!
