Given the neighborhood and the piano, the pricing felt opportunistic. I specifically requested a well temperament. He was unable to do it and did not appear familiar with the temperament systems I was referring to, so no tuning was performed. I literally sent him home with an article on temperament tuning to read. I also asked him to investigate a buzz. He removed the action, found nothing, and was unable to diagnose the problem. He then tried to charge me $200 for simply removing and reinstalling the action. We eventually settled on $120 for the 45 minutes he spent at my house. So, to summarize: no tuning, no diagnosis, and a $200 attempted charge for pulling an action. For someone with a serious instrument or specific musical requirements, I would look elsewhere.

I am truly unhappy and very disappointed to say the least! I trusted David Hong with repairing my…read morepiano and this is the end result. I should have went with my gut feeling when he did not show me any proof of previous work on repairs that he's done. There are tons of black spray paint specs all over my keys. The repair was NOT sanded smoothly prior to paint as you can see in my photos. The top part is still a dent but painted over. This is not results of a professional. I will have to find someone else to clean up his mess! I would not recommend him to anyone and surprised at the review he has.
