Tempe Public Library - Angler fish decor for their ocean themed summer reading program

    Tempe Public Library

Even though I live in (south) Scottsdale I come to Tempe Public Library more than any other library…read morein the Phoenix area. 1) I take my mom here every few weeks because they have a large selection of large print books...more than Scottsdale (Civic Center) 2) It actually makes things more convenient that they don't have multiple branches. Whatever materials they have are all at one location. 3) From what I can tell it seems to be less busy/popular than other libraries in the Phoenix area and if you're trying to reserve materials you'll get them quicker here. Library is clean and pretty well organized. Parking is easy as well. I wish they were open maybe an hour later, but it's fine.

This is a great library. I recently starting going to the library even though I've lived in Arizona…read morefor about 5 years now. The library location in Tempe is so much better than the downtown chandler library. The selection here is way bigger, and it's more teenager friendly. My son was able to get some good books he was interested in reading. In the downtown chandler location he couldn't find one book that peaked his interest. I got way more books than I expected. That's a good thing! I need to get back into reading. The employees here are so much more friendly, helpful and knowledgeable than the Chandler library. So safe to say I won't be back to the Chandler library. This library I will be a regular at even though it pretty far from em.

Residence Inn by Marriott Tempe Downtown/University - Cup of bacon. Yum!

This is a long overdue review for this amazing hotel…read more I've visited Tempe to attend the Innings Festival three times now. Each time staying at a different Marriott property: Aloft the first time, Westin the second time, and at this Residence Inn during my last visit. And I have to stay, this was probably my best stay. Location wise, this property is a couple of blocks away from the Westin. But still within walking distance to the Innings festival site. The nightly rate to stay at this property was also much lower in comparison to Westin and/or Aloft (at the time of booking). And being a Residence Inn, obviously breakfast is included in the rate. Anyway, the check in process during my stay was quick, and the staff was super friendly and hospitable. Actually, all the staff encounters I'd had during my stay were super pleasant. From offering me a bottle of water when I had purchased a pack of ibuprofen to just a simple hello and a smile as we're walking by the front desk. I don't think I've ever stayed at any Marriott property where the staff is just overall pleasant! During check in, I found out that my room had been upgraded. I had originally booked a room with two queen beds but got upgraded to a two bedrooms suite with a personal bathroom in each bedroom. The hotel room also had a little common area and a kitchenette. Awesome! The noise level at this hotel was pretty much on par with every other hotel I'd stayed in so I'm not complaining about that. I thought my bed was comfortable and I always had a good night sleep during my stay here. Breakfast foods are pretty much what you'd get at any other Residence Inn. You get your eggs, sausages, potatoes, juices, waffles, etc. And although the hotel was sold out during my stay (or so I was told), the line for breakfast never got too long. And although I didn't drive here, there's a parking garage (I think public parking garage) attached to the hotel and I believe it was only around $15/night to park there. So they weren't charging insane parking fees that hotels located in downtown anywhere typically charge. Would I stay here again in the future? Hells to the yes!

Stayed here for an extended period and unfortunately the experience was overshadowed by ongoing…read morebilling and communication issues. I noticed charges that didn't seem accurate and tried to get clarification, but getting clear answers or basic documentation was surprisingly difficult. Instead of transparency, I was met with vague explanations and inconsistent information. The lack of communication and accountability turned what should have been a smooth long-term stay into a frustrating and time-consuming situation. The property itself is fine, but based on my experience, I'd strongly recommend reviewing your charges closely and getting everything in writing!
