Came by for a week night dinner and it did not disappoint! The food came out hot and tasted delicious. Even though you'll want to gobble up every last bite from how flavorful it tastes, make sure you save some room for the rose doughnuts because they are a delicacy! I enjoyed the music videos playing in the background. The restaurant design felt very traditional. The ladies serving me were so sweet. So happy I gave this place a try.
I love exploring new places and today is the new Indian restaurant. They have ground sitting area which is so cool. Come with me! I had: 1. Tandoori chicken 2. Mango lassi 3. OG curry 4. Papri chaat
First time actually having a sit down meal versus takeout. It's a cute restaurant along the fame 3rd St Blvd in Los Angeles. Location is great as there's tons of shops nearby as well as restaurants. The only downside, they have a small amount of parking in the back but the rest is street parking. Majority of the time they're all taking and side neighborhoods streets are permits. We looked around for a bit trying to find parking but no luck till we called to see if parking was available. The gentleman when answered told us they had parking and actually came outside to guide us to where the restaurant was as it hard to find in the dark. That was nice of him. There's a few space but normally they're all taken. Restaurant is cute, a main seating area as well as an outdoor dining area. It was covered but not sure if they open the top up during the day. They have a full bar with specialty's cocktails on hand. The menu consist of all your favorites Indian dishes. Spice level to your liking which is always great. Staff were very friendly which is a major plus. The samosas were excellent, served with two dipping sauce. Also had the butter chicken fries which was a first for me at an Indian restaurant. It's basically fries with butter chicken curry and topped with onions and cheese. Their version of a chili cheese fries. Also comes with paneer if that's your liking. The curries were great, butter chicken, lamb saag, shrimp saag all flavored well and spice level was great. Biryani was great a with chicken in the tomatoes base with rice. Everything was excellent. Drinks, food, service all were excellent. Full bar which is always good, they also have patio seating out front.
One thing that always makes me weak in the KNEES is Veggie korma. It's a tomato-based curry with the most aromatic spices, chock full of all different kinds of veggies, and dunked with freshly-baked naan bread?? Absolutely DI-vine, no notes, and this restaurant does the veggie korma so well here. Just steps away from the Grove outdoor mall in LA, Electric Karma has got another specialty dish that you can't find anywhere else--Butter chicken fries--such a simple combo, but so mindblowingly good. And you can't sleep on the Papri chaat, chickpeas and tamarind and mint chutney, all on a bed of the crunchiest chips ever. And obvi had to get a mango lassi to wash it all down ;) Thanks for reading! ^-^
I really enjoyed their Indian food! My office managers brought it in for my birthday lunch and it fully satisfied my craving for home-cooked style Indian food. The chicken tikka masala was delicious. The gravy was thick and rich. The chicken was soft and buttery. It tasted so good with the soft, nicely charred naan bread. I tried the chicken korma as well which is a bit less spicy than the chicken tikka masala but pretty similar. Their Aloo Gobi (cauliflower and potatoes sautéed with a turmeric-ginger spice blend) tasted fresh and perfectly spiced. I very much look forward to going there in person to get the full dining experience, but I have heard good things! Based on their delivery alone I am very excited for how good it will taste served directly to the table!
Been craving Indian food and trying a bunch in the Los Angeles area and this is one of my favorites! The ambiance is the best! Service is always good! For the food if you love Indian food I would say order medium spice if possible for more flavor! You can tell they need to cater to the surrounding areas demographic but I'm still able to get my fix! They also do some fusion like fries and bruschetta which is fun and the mango lassi is so yummy!
Service upon arrival was friendly. With orders and dinner, nicely attentive. The restaurant is small, rustic, charming and clean. I ordered the Curry Fun for One (chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, daal, rice, raita, naan) since it had my favorite Indian dishes and seemed like a very good deal. It definitely had all the right elements and the mild flavor was fine but not good enough for me to order again. When asked how spicy I would like it, I said hot. I'd say it was medium at most. I liked the Bombay Sangria. The tamarind is a nice touch and the booze-soaked apples were delicious. The cocktail and drinks menu looked much more interesting than the food menu. I would like to try more beverages and I wouldn't mind trying more dishes but the bar is low food-wise. My dinner companions did like the samosas. The Chicken Tikka looked and smelled amazing. Parking in the area is a challenge. Residential parking is allowed until 6pm so the only option in the evening is metered parking which runs till 8pm. It's a busy area so you may need to walk a couple of blocks.

He recommended some great food options. Loved the sky room patio which is ideal for private gatherings or relaxing seating with family. Food is great. If you're looking for a cozy place with a nice ambiance and excellent customer service, this is your spot. Street parking is available and wasn't too bad, but parking on a busy street can be a little overwhelming. There is also neighborhood parking, but I think it's limited to two hours. For appetizers, I had two stuffed samosas filled with potatoes and peas--super yummy and not spicy. The chicken masala with rice was delicious and creamy, and you won't be disappointed. This place is great for fun date nights and family dinners. I'll definitely be back!

came here after seeing that LA Times named it one of the best affordable date spots in LA, and it honestly lived up to the hype. The space is cozy and intimate, making it perfect for a date night or even a small dinner with friends. The service was friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. We tried a mix of dishes and everything was super flavorful. The tandoori (Indian-style BBQ cooked in a clay oven) had a really nice smoky flavor, and the meats were juicy and well-seasoned. The cheesy garlic naan was a standout -- soft, buttery, and honestly something I would come back for on its own. The curries like the chana masala and saag were rich without feeling too heavy, and I appreciated that they have a lot of vegan and gluten-free options. My favorite had to be the samosas -- crispy on the outside and perfectly seasoned inside. They also have a full bar, and the mango lassi was refreshing and paired really well with the meal. Overall, this is a great spot if you're looking for something flavorful, affordable, and date-night worthy in Hollywood. Would definitely come back! read more
Really delicious food! Highly recommend curry fun, it's a variety plate for one (although the portion, especially the rice and naan) is unbelievably large. The mint chutney for the samosa is also really, really good. So limey, garlicky, and flavorful. The samosas are light and flaky and delicious. Definitely a must get. The paneer masala fries were fantastic too. Everything is so well seasoned with so much spice and flavor. If you're craving Indian food, you should definitely check this spot out. read more

Place is beautifully decorated. Service was okay. I liked how they didn't come around often and let us talk to each other. The flaming fish we ordered was extremely burnt making it almost inedible. Please refer to the pic. read more

Came here for dinner this past weekend and was blown away by how amazing their food and drinks are. Not only that but their entire staff was really great and attentive! Major shoutout to Lucky(the owner) and his son Harman for such exceptional service. Also I need to mention how beautiful the back part of the restaurant is! For food we ordered the butter chicken fries and samosas for appetizers, butter chicken curry, chicken tikka(sizzling plate), and 2 of their new mocktails that were insanely delicious. Honestly everything was a 10/10. Can't wait to return to try more of the food. read more

April 2023 The beauty, flavorful dishes & decor at Electric Karma reminds me of the vibe of my travels in India! Even hearing the music & seeing the music videos displayed on the large screen in the main dining area will transport you to India & it pretty much makes me want to dance! Haha! Delicious Veggie Dishes: Full of spices that add plenty of flavor to each vegetable dish always makes my tastebuds happy! Chai Tea: Yum! I order every single time! (Their is also a bar inside!) Flashback: I've been coming to Electric Karma for years with friends, family in town & one year, I even had a huge birthday celebration there...love the energy, it's absolutely my vibe! In April, I introduced a friend to this restaurant! Dining: Indoor seating(beautiful decor & festive music), as well as outdoor seating in the front! However, the patio seating in the back is my absolute favorite...low to the floor seating & tables, gorgeous framed mirrors, colorful tapestry...the gorgeous decor of it all, love it! Overall: Colorful, upbeat vibe, flavorful dishes & simply an entire experience that has the ability to transport to India, has me coming back every time... My husband and I came here with our friends last night and we had the best meal!!! Everything was absolutely delicious but the standout winner was the chicken nirvana. I honestly could have liked the bowl if was so good! The service was absolutely wonderful - everyone was so kind and helpful. Our friends are regulars here and the staff recognized them. This place is seriously beautiful! It is decorated to give you a touch India. We got the veggie fun (Veggie korma aloo gobi) & chicken fun (Chicken tikka masala, saag paneer), I was honestly surprised at how good their veggie fun was! Both come with Daal, rice, raita, naan. They also have an expensive menu for drinks, mock tails & a Taste of Indian classic drinks. The service was great and the waiter helped us decide what to order, definitely would come again! read more
One of the best kept secrets of Los Angeles is the number, range, and quality of its cultural, ethnic restaurants. If you love exotic plant-based food, as I do, you won't want to miss this pretty, charming example of Southern India's flavor-rich cuisine. First of all, if you come in the afternoon you will find easy metered street parking on 3rd Street. It is likely packed in the evenings. My preference for this off-time is a blessing and a curse. I failed to realize that this restaurant, like so many in this area, closes between 3 and 5 pm on weekends. We raced to get there by 2:45, frogged across the busy street, and slid in the door under the wire. The place was completely empty, except for the staff who must not have been thrilled to have us keep them from their break, but still greeted us warmly and graciously seated our group in a colorful semi-outdoor room at the back. From then on they ferried dish after dish, steaming from being freshly prepared, to us with nothing but smiles and solicitude. Thank you all, but particularly Clyde, who is the consummate professional and a great ambassador for India. (Btw, I fault Open Table for allowing us to book such a late reservation -- they don't seem to have the 411 on afternoon closures, as this is not the first time it has happened to us.) If you have been to India, you know there is a dazzling number and variety of colors, flavors, and alimentary concepts. Many of them -- some completely new to me, even though I have been sampling Indian cooking for decades -- are available on EK's fascinating menu. See the pictures with my labels so you know what we had. Despite having chicken available, this is a wonderful spot for vegetarians and vegans. The hues splashed all over each room cast an almost holographic lavender over us that offset the deep warm saffrons and pepper reds of our dishes. You will get the idea from my photographs. In the background was a steady stream of India's best music, we felt as if we were right there! Great, caring service, a clean, vibrant environment, with fresh air wafting through that transports all the odors of delicately spiced foods and flowering plants past numerous tables in several intimate spaces, and comfortable seating that relaxed us after our harried sprint from home will draw us back again and again. This place has been my go to indian place for many years. It's super delicious. I also really love how they don't use nuts in their masala sauce as I have an allergy. They have a semi-open sitting area in the back. I just went today for dinner and Nick our waiter was so friendly and helpful. read more

I have never tried Indian Food before but my friend wanted to try this spot Electric Karma because she heard it was good. When you walk in you have a choice to sit at regular dining tables or the traditional Indian dining tables on the floor in the back patio with open air. We decided to sit here. This room was so beautiful with its decor and colors and great music making for the perfect ambiance. The owner Lucky was great. I told him it was my first time and he explained to me how there are no preservatives in the food just natural food from the ground and spices. Although I am not vegan, they have 40% vegan clientele with a lot of vegan dishes so this place is perfect for everyone! Ok let's get to the food, I started off with a Masala Margarita and it was delish. My friend loved her mojito. We ordered the somosas, Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala, Rice, and Market Vegetables. Every single thing was AMAZING!!! It was my first time trying Indian food and I couldn't stop eating it with its rich flavors and exquisite bites. I am now definitely fan of Indian food and especially this place. I can't wait to come back and try some of the other items on the menu. Check it out for yourselves and see, you'll love it! read more

Once again, so good. Amazing service, amazing food, such good drinks. Endless vegan options. They were happy to make any customizations we asked for (spice level, protein, etc - everything is made from scratch). And the servers are some of the nicest I've ever met in LA. And I just love the overall vibe. Comfortable, cool lighting, fun for casual dinner or a night out. read more

We got dinner here one night while in LA. It has a wonderful vibe. There's street parking in front of the restaurant. Our server was prompt and friendly. We got the onion pakora and the tandoori platter to start with. For the main course we got OG curry with lamb, butter chicken with garlic naan and whole wheat roti. We got the rose dough balls (gulab jamun) for dessert. Everything we got was delicious. The Rose lassi was exceptional. Highly recommend trying this restaurant out when in LA and craving Indian food. read more

Is there any parking?
There is metered parking up & down the street. On Sundays the meters are free. We went (Sun, yesterday) & they needed more customers! The food is sooooooo fresh & delicious -- worth hunting for parking on other days as well.
