As many have stated, working with Electric Insurance Company has been a complete nightmare. One of their insured drivers hit my parked car. He continued to park, left the cars without a note, and only contacted me when I left a note on his car letting him know that I had filed a police report and got pictures of both of our cars.
Once we finally got the claims process started (two week after the accident), I was directed to their "Commercial Claims" department because the guy who hit me had a company vehicle. Commercial Claims is apparently two people - Terry and Cathy. Getting ahold of them has been extremely difficult.
I've called multiple times, multiple days in a row to never be responded to. But as soon as something came up that they needed, I was supposed to drop everything and jump on the phone with the body shop (whose contact info they have....) and get something for them at the drop of a hat.
Because I work a 9-5 and wasn't able to drop everything, I received an email two hours later from their claim person in all caps (the email version of yelling) insisting she needed it now. Well, imagine that. You want answers and wait two hours and get mad? Imagine waiting DAYS.
So now, I just got a call from Hertz stating that the rental car was overdue. I dropped my car off at the shop on a Friday and got a rental that day. The rental was supposed to be through at least Monday, when we'd get a better estimate as to when the car would be done. It was only approved for three days, to which I then told was being extended.
So imagine my stress when Wednesday Hertz calls me and tells me they reached out to the claims person on Monday about an extension since they didn't receive the car back and she ... NEVER RESPONDED. They then said that they'd be either charging my credit card for the additional days OR repossessing the rental. Oh, fantastic. Awesome, great.
So I'm sensing a pattern here in their lack of response. I've been calling and emailing non-stop today (for literal hours just trying to speak to someone) and have yet to speak to someone who can help get this extended, as well as get me any information as to why I am essentially being ghosted.
Again, I was the person who was hit by their at-fault driver. I should not have to chase people down to get this all figured out and have to pay for the additional Hertz charges because Terry refuses to do her job. As if I wasn't stressed enough trying to get my car fixed, now I'm dealing with having to beg people outside of the Commercial Claims department to help me get this extended as well as approve the additional damage the body shop found because no one will return my calls and messages. It's grossly negligent and anyone who is considering Electric Insurance should stay as far away from them as possible. read more
