I've had my car insurance through Santo since 2012 when I was first licensed. My parents also use…read moreSanto for their home and auto insurance. My agent, Christine, had been a saving grace, a reassuring voice, and has searched, seemingly, the ends of the earth to find me a better price. I'm not the best driver so I've had to make a lot of unfortunate calls to her over the years and in those times I always feel extremely stupid and really down- no one likes getting into an accident, even if its a minor fender bender. But Christine has always been extremely kind and handled the situation the way a patient mother would and I can't thank her enough. I would recommend Santo, and specifically Chris, to anyone looking for a good agent. She treats every customer as if they are her ONLY customer, and it makes a world of difference. I had to leave Santo because they couldn't beat a competitors price but if the price difference had been even a couple hundred dollars and not $1,000, I would have easily chosen Santo just to keep Chris as my agent.

When I got there, James Santo the owner came out "flailing his hands in the air like a lunatic" and said "you didn't tell me your son had a ticket". I explained that I didn't know he had one ticket. But he was still acting like a crazy man, and said "I can't give you insurance"! He didn't say "the insurance would cost more", like other normal insurance companies would...just "I can't give you insurance". Honestly, I don't think I have ever met a crazier person than this lunatic in quite some time. I just stood there in amazement! I hardy think tempers and dealing with the public blend. I just left the office and couldn't believe my ears. I've had a lot of insurance over the years, but this guy takes the cake. Could I give this insurance agency ZERO stars? Honestly there's nothing to like about Santo Insurance.

These gals rock! OK…read moreso I shouldn't sound so thrilled about insurance but let me explain it this way: I've been with them over 20 years and they're still going strong. I started with auto insurance and due to a series of unfortunate run-ins (literally) with other drivers, I've been in over 15 auto accidents. The first was my fault and every other one was the other driver. Seriously! Who else do you know who's been rear ended THREE times while at a complete stop? Trudy and Linda and now Trish help me with the rental and the accident report and the other guys insurance company and all the other crap that goes along with an accident. One time my fuel tank got pierced by a metal rod on the highway. I had the fire department there and my car was spewing a full tank of gas all over the breakdown lane. When I called to tell them what happened (my second call after AAA) Trish even came and got me and brought me to work. How awesome is that?!?! When I bought my house, I went to them for my homeowners insurance. They work hard to make sure you get the best deal around as far as pricing is concerned. They tell you all those stupid tid-bits you'd never know about insuranc-y things like umbrella insurance. Who knew? So if you need a great insurance agent who can handle all your needs call the gals at Michaud, you won't regret it. Did I mention they rock??

I moved to Salem NH in the summer of 2012. I previously lived in MA my entire life. When I moved to…read moreNH I decided to try a new agent since my auto policy was expiring anyway.. I went to Foy insurance. She gave me a quote of $1966 with a 250 deductable. I said that seemed really high, she said it'd drop another $200 if I brought in proof of prior insurance (I didnt bring any, I assumed they could look it up). I had no idea what insurance in NH was supposed to cost so I gave them a check. I called another agent a few days later. They gave me a quote of $707, with no deductable. I immediatly cancelled my Foy Progressive policy. Im thinking Foy made some mistake on the quote, but it didnt seem to stick out to them as an error even when I said it seemed high. My current agent said they dont insure many in NH, it was actually the 1st NH policy she had personally written. When I said I was paying $1966 she immediatly said "no thats not right". I assume they do quotes all day and can estimate what they'll be before they even enter any info. Because they didnt see that this was out of range made me wonder what happens if I have an accident and they dont notice my claim is way off? They had good customer service so I'll give them an extra star (they were very understanding, even when I called to cancel)...but the bottom line is Foy/Progressive's $1966 & 250 deductable versus my current policy with Concord at $707 with no deductable.

Most months I would have to email them to invest my automatic investment, it would just sit in a cash account. The last straw happened when I decided to purchase 35k worth of an artificial intelligence ETF mid-July. During the following two weeks it took a large hit. I decided to stop looking but the last time I had looked, once again, my regular automatic investment into a more conservative ETF was sitting in cash, so I emailed them asking to invest it, and deleted the Fidelity app. A week later, on August 7th 2024, my wife who almost never looks at our accounts decided to look and asked me why they sold out full position in the Artificial Intelligence ETF. I bought at the top of the market for a giant loss as well as our full position in a very long term hold of a vanguard technology ETF with significant long-term gains triggering a taxable event and put all of it into a conservative ETF a couple days prior without my knowledge or consent.  I called and emailed the owner and only heard back when my email said "I'm leaving the company". Mike, the CEO told me it was all bad luck and I must have walked under a ladder. I requested an in-person meeting, he told me he can do that after the summer with his family at his Cape Cod home and that will have to be sometime in September.  If you are looking for a hands-off experience or have little knowledge about investing I would steer clear of Arcadia Financial because you will not catch all of their errors they will consistently make , which will be detrimental to your goals. If you are like me, who have a working knowledge of investments, and think hiring someone may help you stay the course, you'll be managing the portfolio yourself anyways by telling them to fix all the mistakes they make. Quite frankly, I don't know who would be a good candidate to work Arcadia Financial. No skin off their back though. Part of my conversation with Mike when he was summering at his beach house, was to tell me he has enough portfolios where he can just coast from this point if he chooses. If you are on the fence about allowing them to manage your money, I encourage you to check out past employee reviews. Common examples include not being payed correctly, bad moral, and no leadership.
