Definitely consider making reservations because the restaurant gets quite busy during peak times. I chose to go with the fish pie and it was absolutely delicious. Everything was seasoned perfectly. We left with our tummies full and satisfied! Make sure you make this part of your Cork stops.

The second night I had an appetizer of seafood chowder and the John Dory fish. The cheese cake was unique, , very satisfying taste of cocoa, and the crunchy and gritty texture really felt like Ferrero Roche. For the other dishes I found something interesting. The prawns and crab sandwiches tasted standard, but the oily sauce (prawns) and the sweet and sour puree (crab sandwiches) had exquisite flavor that made one want to finish them all with a piece of bread (which I did). On the other hand, the John Dory was nicely done, texture spot-on, juicy and savoy flavor, but the white sauce looked broken and watery, and the taste was a bit on the bland side. In general I enjoyed my experience, but I wonder if they could match the quality of the sauce and the main ingredients better :)

I didn't enjoy the ratatouille that accompanies the dish, but the fish was well worth it. The filet was also cooked perfectly and had great flavor! The chips were also yummy. Great texture outside and soft interior. Their own soup was also delicious. Great flavor and had a great onion to broth ratio. If in the area I recommend getting a reservation or arriving earlier to snag a table. Great overall

I paired it with one of their locally brewed lagers, which was crisp, refreshing, and a great match for the meal. The biggest surprise was the mushroom soup. It was rich, velvety, and absolutely exquisite, served with warm house made bread that was impossible to stop eating. What truly made the experience exceptional was the hospitality. Every member of the staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel at home. Fresh local ingredients, fantastic beer, unforgettable food, and wonderful service. Market Lane deserves every bit of its five stars. Highly recommended!

Fresh, clean, and the kind of flavour that makes you pause for a second like... wow, ok. I didn't have a reservation, but I had a serious oyster craving, and the manager was kind enough to fit me in. That alone deserves a thank you. Service was good, friendly, and attentive without hovering. The atmosphere was great too, lively and comfortable, perfect for a quick treat or a casual seafood stop.

To start they bring "snacks" to the table which includes fish nuggets, potato chips, and marinated olives. The fish nuggets were absolutely great and served with a basil aioli. For starters I highly recommend the unusual oyster pate. Smooth subtle and perfect. For mains we went with the John Dory which was wonderful. And they bring sides family style. The colcannon was the standout side. What I wouldn't have given to take it home for a fried egg breakfast. The dessert was caramelized white chocolate and ice cream. Amazing way to top off a superb evening. The servers were over the top great. Attentive, sense of humor and knowledge. A Michelin star is probably in their future if they even care about that because they have received so many accolades.
