It's a solid, casual meat-and-three that's become a gathering place for both locals and visitors. The friendly staff and frequent live music create a lively atmosphere, and if you're already coming to Leipers Fork for a show, it's a great place to grab a meal beforehand. The menu offers classic Southern comfort food with rotating daily specials. The pulled pork is one of the more consistent meats, although I've had it arrive perfectly tender on some visits and a bit dry on others. The second meat changes throughout the week, which keeps things interesting for repeat customers. I've worked my way through all of the sides, and the fried okra is easily my favorite. It's consistently served hot and crispy, though I think a signature seasoning blend would make it even better. The macaroni and cheese is another standout, although I've occasionally received it lukewarm. The sweet potato fries are also enjoyable but could use a little more crispness, and I think they'd really shine with a house-made dipping sauce like a hot honey mustard. The green beans appear to be canned, which doesn't personally bother me, but they leave an unusual aftertaste that keeps me from ordering them often. The collard greens have good flavor but tend to include more stems than I'd prefer. Overall, I think the atmosphere is what makes Fox & Lock special. The staff is consistently welcoming, the live music is excellent, and it's an important part of the Leipers Fork community. If you're visiting the area for the music or exploring the town, it's absolutely worth stopping in for a meal. I checked out the hours on Yelp, naturally, because where else, and noticed there hadn't been a review since around 2015. I'm about to rectify that... It's only getting 4 stars due to parking. It's not marked and you guess that all the cars directly across the street are PROBABLY where you should go... and once you get inside, and sign tells you that it IS correct. Confusing. Would you be towed? I have a handicap tag and I parked in front of the building to the right of them next to two very large pickup trucks. Wasn't towed, no ticket. Thank God. Fluke? Lucky? Don't know... When we went up the weird little steps... not exactly handicap accessible... it's a fairly dark crowded place with a wide aisle separating tables from the check-in area, a small serving area, the long bar, more tables the stage, and access to the upstairs seating area. The lady that checked us in verified Kim's name in a book even though she ordered her tickets through some app... didn't even need to scan the QR code! We were given our little bracelets and went to find a table... hopefully... as it fills up FAST there! However, as soon as we got the bracelet on, we were headed past two young ladies who gave us FREE PASSES TO NEXT WEEK'S GUNS 'N ROSES TRIBUTE! Yep! Have bracelets to get into that for free, thanks to Jadan Geren and Rachel Dame. Thanks, dolls! We will try to make it! Thankfully, a sweet married couple by the names of Shannon and Brandon had a couple of free chairs at their table, so we had a place to sit, and it was close to both bar and stage. Bottled water $1... fries $2.50, onion rings $2.99. Combos like burgers and fries $8... grilled cheese and fries I think was $7 or $7.50... they have things like fried pickles or cheese sticks for about $8... sorry I couldn't get a pic of the paper sheet that was a menu... ours was wrinkled, and they're a dark wine color... The opening act, which wasn't advertised, wasn't bad if you like a predominantly country, raspy voiced acoustic guitar kinda guy. His name was "Bobby". Just... Bobby. Was told he played in Nashville 6 days a week. I can see it. He's pretty good. Just not what anyone wanted to hear for a couple of hours while waiting for a Journey tribute... and I heard people complaining left and right. And yawning. Yep. Yawning. It was the fact raspy voices don't have much range, and after about an hour he was beyond monotonous... Once Resurrection came on stage? It got hopping!!! The bar had pretty much run out of food during Boring Bobby, so people need to eat EARLY. The acoustics are pretty good, the bass beat even vibrates the floor! The employees are ALL really nice. Customers/venue goers (whatever you want to call the people that bought tickets) are pretty nice, but have no compunction whatsoever of blocking your view. None. The open floor in front of the stage isn't that big and they will cram themselves on it or block the aisle leading to it, making it hard to get to your table if it's close to the stage and you went to the bar or the restrooms located to the right of the bar. All of our family and guests kept commenting on how beautiful and unique the space was. We had draping/extra lighting put up on the columns in the atrium and it was very soft and romantic. They have done away with the required vendors but keep a list of preferred vendors that they recommend and have a good reputation with; we ended up using a few on their list and had fantastic experiences with everyone they suggested. Laura was our contact, and she was amazing. She was super responsive to our emails for planning, very accommodating to our busy schedules and many requests, and an overall great person to work with. She made the extra furniture rentals (upgraded chairs, extra tables) a breeze, and gave us plenty of time to rehearse the day before.

You walk in the store and there is a bar with a cash register. A few tables scattered down the middle with a stage on the far left side of the room. You see the kitchen window in the back, but there are also various items you can buy. Need a light bulb? Got it. Plumbing? Yep. Electrical? Sure. Fan belt? Why not. In short, a very unique atmosphere and worth coming at least once just to see it for yourself. When we got there, the band had just gotten up to play. The lead singer announced his drummer was unable to make it, so his son was stepping in. How was the band? They were okay. But this is just outside of Nashville, where you can find famous country artists singing in their local church and musicians that can pick up any song by listening to a short section on their phone. The kid was actually a good drummer. Band played a lot of oldies, and not country. I give them two thumbs up. Decent beer list for the standard domestic and craft beers you find at most places. I believe they rotate some of their handles, but did not confirm that. Food? Fairly standard for a small town place. Tenders were breaded in house. Not sure, but the fries appears to be hand cut, with skins on. If frozen, they did not destarch the fries, which would be unusual. The gyro is not on a spit (not surprising) so a bit less appealing, but the fresh produce was a nice touch after so many places having what is obviously sysco produce. I would rank this as a nice spot to grab a meal and listen to live music after a trail walk in either Beaman Park or Fontannel.
