Stopped by for a quick coffee and snack before checking out some wedding venues. I have been here another time during the fall and it was pretty good so decided to come back on our day off. The coffee out quick, and the cashier helped us decide on some of their popular seasonal offerings. I got the Sweater Weather Latte which was solid. It had sea salt, maple, and brown sugar. My wife got a salted caramel latte with cold foam, I would say I liked hers a little more because of the cold foam. So I'll add that next time. The place has a great aesthetic, great to do a little work on your laptop on, or just enjoy some coffee and a treat. We will be back!

Very cute cafe with friendly staff!! Love that there are vegan options, it is so tough to find dairy free baked goods in cafes in the Midwest. Good music taste as well. My rosemary honey latte was delightful. Would recommend.

Elder + Oat is the BEST bakery in Chicago's suburbs! Their muffins, blueberry granola bars, their Brown Butter Pecan Scones, and their doughnuts are delicious! Their coffees are fabulous as well! I usually get a Doppio Espresso with honey and sometimes get a Cappuccino. Both are perfect and never disappoint! The service is tops, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and their food options are the best in the burbs!

A great coffee shop if you're looking for a place to study as well. They have Housemade syrups and lots of seating with a great atmosphere. Would recommend this to anyone looking for good coffee and study vibes

Stopped by Elder + Oat for a Sunday morning coffee and treat in Downtown West Dundee. The inside had a good mix of seating, board game offerings and very cozy vibes. They serve Counter Culture coffee which was a great surprise! The staff were very nice and explained the menu well. Note that all bakery options are not available all the time but they have a window to show the back of house staff making baked goods. We got a fresh cinnamon twist donut and buttermilk garlic scone to go. Both were delicious and flavor packed! I got an iced lavender latte with oat milk and my partner got a hot chai tea. Both were made to order and delicious. We would certainly come back in the future to try other beverages and baked goods!

Experience photo-documented with comments. Parking in back. Service was the worst part of the experience. UNHURRIED in the negative sense. Products were good. How can you beat a bakery? Loved how they had hot sauce as part of their condiment station. Ambiance was hipster cubed... vegan friendly, pet friendly, and everyone welcomed. Cozy seating, but COLD inside. BRRR. Bring a slanket and gloves.

They couldn't even put hummus on the other half of the bread.

I was at this place today and it was a very unpleasant experience. I ordered an iced latte and a Mediterranean sandwich. There was a hair on the plate. When I went to tell her, she just grabbed the hair with her hand and asked if I wanted another plate. She didn't apologize or show any empathy. I asked her if she could make the sandwich again, and she, surprised, asked me if that was really what I wanted. I said YES!! Annoyed, she grabbed the plate and turned away without saying a word. I always like supporting small businesses; Unfortunately, I won't be returning to this one. They need to be more attentive to their staff and train them to provide better customer service. By the way, her name is Ashley K.

A welcoming neighborhood coffee place. On a Sunday morning,, they were busy, but attentive to everyone, They promote sustainability , which is amazing. They also donate food to a local food drive, plus they not only compost their older food, but they also give it to a brewery for them to make beer out of it! Their coffees were smooth and creamy, not bitter. Definitely one of the best coffee places around. Read less

Dropped in this weekend as there's not many great coffee places in Kane county, though I think Elder + Oat is safely one of the best, if not the best. The coffee cold foam drink was extraordinary. You could actually taste the coffee and it wasn't spammed with sweetener. The donuts were some of the best quality maple donuts I've ever had. An absolute favorite & will definitely be back for a relaxing weekend.

This is one of the most incredible coffee shops I've ever been to. Elder + Oat really set the bar so high for any coffee shop I go to next! They pride themselves on their sustainability and resourcefulness which I think is awesome. They donate food to a local food drive, plus they not only compost their older food, but they also give it to a brewery for them to make beer out of it! All of their ingredients are locally sourced, from the syrups they use in lattes to the herbs they use for their sauces. I love knowing the ingredients I put into my body here are all real and organic! Also I could go on and on about their food, the pesto to be exact. That sh*t is DELICIOUS! Their apple cider doughnuts were fantastic; they were so rich and moist. The focaccia bread is flavorful and airy, I especially like their sea salt & olive oil one. The food and coffee here is so A1, I highly recommend it! What makes this place better is they have a parking lot out back which makes this shop easily accessible. The front side of the store is right in front of a no-parking busy street in downtown West Dundee, so the parking lot and entrance directly in the back of the store come in clutch. The staff and owners are so hard working, gracious, kind, authentic - I could go on! Truly such an unbelievable local coffee shop and community space. They also do brunches, catering, weddings, etc. This is a fantastic spot you don't wanna miss out on!

Very good chai latte made perfectly with the right amount of spice. Really enjoy their vegan donuts, tasted just like a regular one. Atmosphere was great and enjoyed the cozy-ness to it. Will be back!

Such a cute and cozy coffee shop and bakery located in downtown West Dundee. Love the friendly and relaxing vibes as soon as you walk in. They have a board games and kids activity stuff to keep the little ones engaged. We tried the ginger bread latte, golden milk & honey latte, egg and cheese breakfast biscuits and freshly made donuts. Everything was made with the freshest ingredient and they have gluten free and vegan options as well. They are open daily from 6:30 am till 2pm on weekdays and 7- 3pm on weekends. Check it out and enjoy delicious coffee, pastries, and more. The service is great. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming.

So disappointed we paid $10 for this "sandwich" that ended up going into the trash. We said we're vegan and have allergies but didn't realize till we got home after a 30min drive that it had dairy cheese on it and not to mention just a teaspoon of hummus a slice of tomato and like 3 slivers of bell peppers. Wish the staff was more knowledgeable of their menu items and could've clarified or made sure it was correct before handing it to us. Gotten this before in the past multiple times a year or 2 ago but it seems like the service has sadly gone downhill a bit, just disappointed because we used to love this place!

Located in the heart of East Dundee downtown area. Serving up small bites, sandwiches, breakfast…read morefoods and more, check out the menu. They make craft coffee drinks (something for everyone) including espresso martini's. They have a large selection of wine for purchase and lots of small boutique items that you'll want to checkout while sipping on your favorite drink. They have several seating areas inside to gather with your favorite pal's. Perfect place to grab your morning coffee, a bite to eat and sit outside on their patio as well. We enjoyed a glass of wine while I shopped around. Service was friendly and quick.

Unbelievably Hostile and Combative Service…read more My friend and I visited Eastside Café around 10:00 AM on a Saturday, and it was hands down the most memorable meetup we've ever had--for all the wrong reasons. Unless you want to be insulted, barked at, and made to wait over an hour for basic food, avoid this place at all costs. The Timeline of Events: * Line Wait: 20 minutes just to place our separate orders at the counter (3 couples were ahead of us). * The Orders: Two paninis (which menus state come with chips) and one small latte. * The Initial Wait: After 25 minutes of waiting (45 minutes total in the shop), we had zero food and no coffee. We politely checked in with the pleasant dark-haired employee, who admitted our order had been forgotten. * The Final Food Wait: It took another 10 minutes to get the coffee and one panini. It took an additional 25 minutes--and another follow-up--just to get the second panini. Total food wait time: over an hour. The Atrocious Service: The blonde employee with glasses and a bun was shockingly hostile. While we waited, she loudly called a table of four girls a "bunch of alcoholics" simply for ordering two mimosa flights. She then barked at them to "come pick up their dam drinks" because she wasn't "paid enough to walk them over." When they rose to leave, she yelled at them that she was "NOT cleaning up after them" and demanded they wipe down their own table. They left with their tail between their legs, like they did something wrong. When we naturally grew concerned about our second missing panini and asked about it, she said she's busy. We said we understand and only want to know how much longer. Then she snapped at us in front of the whole restaurant: "Clearly you DON'T understand or you wouldn't keep asking me about your dam panini." Mind you, we had only asked once. The Aftermath: We ended up asking for the food to-go just to escape the abuse. They completely forgot our chips, and we had to ask for a menu just to prove they were included, resulting in a 5-minute wait for what turned out to be chip crumbs. We ended up chatting and laughing out of exasperation with the mimosa group outside, who were actively warning prospective customers away. They went back in and took a picture of this person for receipts. The most shocking part? When I got home and looked at Yelp, the person responding to reviews as the business owner looks very similar to the blonde worker who abused us. If the owner is the one back-talking paying customers and treating everyone like an interruption to her phone time, this business is in serious trouble. I'm not posting the picture of the blond girl in question out of privacy. It's a running joke now between my friend and I that wherever we meet up again in the future, it won't be as bad at the Eastside cafe. Completely rude, combative, and unacceptable. Never again. And the food was just mediocre.

This coffee shop is kept clean and can seat about 25 people. There is also a drive thru which makes it convenient for anyone in a rush or just wanting to grab and go. Staff members were very nice! Since it was my first time there it took me a little extra time to decide what to order. They remained patient and extremely helpful. Service was quick, my items were ready within 5 mins. I tried the dark hot chocolate with almond milk and also got a breakfast sandwich (everything bagel with egg and cheese). The hot chocolate was good - not overly sweet and at the perfect temperature where I didn't burn myself. The breakfast sandwich was also very good - it usually comes with sausage and cream cheese, however, I opted to leave those out. Everything was of great quality and I can see myself coming back in the future.

The restaurant was clean and it was laid out nice with lots of tables. They have a $3.99 Happy Hour…read morespecial for a 16oz hot or cold lattes. I had the hot sugar-free caramel latte. It was very good. My mom came with me and she had the Earl Grey iced tea and did not like it. They had three board games behind the counter that you can borrow and play. We brought our own Uno game with us. They don't have any egg bites or other protein snacks to eat along with your coffee so that was kind of disappointing. They do have egg sandwiches, but I'm trying to avoid extra carbs when I'm drinking a latte. We will definitely be back again to enjoy the $3.99 Happy Hour specials from 2PM to 6PM.
