Shady! I love supporting mom and pop businesses when the food is good, but this place is shady. I have been here a few times because it's so convenient when shopping at El Super, but last night they lost me as their customer. Like I said before, the food is good, but there are a lot of other places in the area that are better.
Last night I was doing some grocery shopping and decided to stop by here for their 6 taco pack to take home. $10.99 (includes the tacos, beans, rice, salsa and chips).
First of all, the guy taking my order didn't seem too pleased that he had to actually interact with me and he was so slow, occasionally pausing to do a little dance to the music, as if he's making himself lunch on a Sunday afternoon with no cares in the world.
He packs up my food and asks if there's anything else.
"It comes with chips too, right?"
I'm greeted with a sigh as he slowly walks over to the chips, throws two handfuls in a bag and comes back to charge me. Meanwhile I feel like an a-hole to the person behind me for asking for something that's included in the pack I ordered.
So he rings me up, I see two items he pushes, one rings up as $10.99 the other is $2.00. And he tells me the total is $14.03, I ask him why is it so much, he simply says "tax."
I tell him that I seen him ring something up for $2.00 and tax isn't that much. He plays dumb and calls his co-worker over. She starts to play dumb too, but then tells him, "we don't have to add the tax anymore it automatically does that."
The guy cancels the transaction and rings me up again, this time without the $2.00 sucker fee. So on the way home it's bothering me that they would do that to people, and I remembered another time I had gone and thought the tax was too high, but I didn't say anything then, I just assumed I didn't do the math right in my head.
Anyway if you're gonna go here, make sure to keep an eye on what you're charged for. read more
