I was in the mood for a Gyro and decided to try this place. When I walked in I saw brightly colored walls. I placed my order to go. I ordered 2 Beef Gyros they came with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and tzatziki sauce. ( I got their hot sauce on the side.Their hot sauce is very hot.) I also ordered yellow rice, and a Greek Salad. It was very fresh and delicious. My boyfriend enjoyed it so much he said he could've eaten two. Several days later,we came back and placed the same order but this time ordered an additional Gyro. because we enjoyed it so much. Their Yellow Rice was really good and flavorful. I think they use basmati rice. My Greek Salad was also fresh and delicious with lots of feta.This place is Halah. (Made, produced, manufactured, processed, and stored using machinery, equipment, and/or utensils that have been cleaned according to Islamic law.You will not find any pork here.) The manager was very nice, he made good suggestions and was very friendly. His wife was also very nice and friendly. This restaurant is very clean, and bright with a good amount of tables for dining in. There's also a couple of tables outside. They have a wide variety of dishes. I saw some children eating Chicken Tenders and Fries. They have a kids menu. El Waldo Grill offers Chicken,Lamb, and Beef Gyros. You can get it in a pita or on a platter. They have all different kinds of platter's including Seafood Platters. They have delicious falafel. I tried some with their homemade tahini sauce. They serve Burgers, Salads,Sandwiches including Vegetarian Sandwiches. Buffalo Wings, Quesadillas, Popcorn Chicken, All Beef Hot Dogs, Fat Sandwiches for the daring, Milkshakes, Smoothies. and Baklava for dessert. El Wadi has probably become our favorite takeout spot in the area. Food: the salmon platter was delicious. The salmon was perfectly seasoned and had a slight crisp on the outside. The lamb is the best part of the el wadi special. The chicken is really good too. The falafel is spiced nicely, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The rice for both is perfectly cooked and seasoned. It's nice and fluffy. Be sure to get extra white sauce!! Ambiance: it's more of a takeout spot where you go up the counter and order. This place is just OK honestly. It's the only place I know in the area that makes a traditional Egyptian dish called Koshari. But it's like a hit or miss. You never know which one you'll get every time you order it. Sometimes it's pretty good. Sometimes the pasta and rice are TOO overcooked and the whole thing is like mush! No one likes mushy pasta.. So that's disappointing. I also tried their lamb gyro and chicken.. Not really a whole lot of flavor. Their lamb kebab is not bad. All in all- I give them 3 stars. Especially given the prices.. Great spot to pick up meals! I ordered 2 platters to get a sampling of items, Mediterranean Mix platter (kofta and chicken kebab) and Veggie Mix platter (falafel, baba ganoush and hummus). Order was ready in 25 minutes as expected and packaged neatly in a large paper bag stapled closed. Everything was well seasoned and delicious! I recently found this restaurant on a Facebook group looking to support local restaurants. My husband and I came in at 9 PM (always nice to finally find a place open past 9 pm). The front is deceiving - I was initially put off by the bright red sign and the complex, but I am thrilled that we ventured on in. Both the service and food were excellent! We ordered the Kofta kebab platter and mixed grill. I'm a fan of kebab in general, and this ranks amongst my top 5 ever. The meat is well flavored and juicy. The sauces and rice are near perfect. Just ordered some gyros (lamb & chicken) for take out. Very flavorful and fresh. Only negative was they were a bit shy on the protein. Small pieces of chicken and lamb hidden in the gyro.
