Ali's has Guatemalan food prepared to order or from the steam table. Kitchen was busy, so I chose from the steam table. Chicken stew, rice, beans, and some veggies. First time I've had lunch served by the pound from a Spanish place! Food was fresh & tasty but it cost more than expected at $7.99/lb. Got two house made tortillas as well. Would stop in again.

The food turned out to be utterly delicious - we got the Guatemalan chicken stew kind of dish (pollo guisado), rice, 2 kinds of black beans, and plantains. The chicken dish was so fresh, and surprisingly light and very flavorful. The black bean paste was tasty too. The lady running the place asked if we wanted tortillas. So glad we said yes. They were thicker than Mexican tortillas, but light and slightly spongey and not dry. They were making them fresh inside, I watched them make these. I haven't had tortillas this tasty since we vacationed in Guatemala some years ago. The horchata was good too, not too sweet. Families were coming in, it was a very authentic kind of place and the food had a home-cooked taste. Theres's pre-made food, but you can also order from the menu. We were there on Saturday, around 11:30am, so the food was just being prepared for the day, but I think they cook throughout the day. Must say also a very friendly and gracious kind of place. A really fantastic surprise! Wish this place would open a location in Manhattan.

Alis's Bakery & Deli - Lady running the place, so nice and friendly. She suggested the fantastic fresh tortillas which we could watch being hand made.

Every time I go there and need help, Anthony is always willing to assist me with a smile and a great attitude. He is respectful, kind, and ready to help. In a supermarket where customers often have to find things by themselves, getting helpful and friendly assistance makes a big difference. What I appreciate the most is his consistency. Every time I visit, Anthony is the same -- helpful, pleasant, and professional. I truly appreciate his excellent customer service.

The store has a great selection, is well staffed with helpful employees and is super clean. For basics, it's fine but their prepared foods have been hit and miss. I always like their bakery items but sometimes their hot food is not great, including some stuffed fish I had one time which was so inedible that it went into the garbage disposal after two bites. I also had some chicken that wasn't great so if you're looking at prepared foods, choose carefully. They score high points for fruits and vegetables and their selections of cheeses, olives and cured meats is top notch. If you want to make a charcuterie board, come here! They have a lot of great drink options too. If you like beer, the selection is extensive. I also like that they have lots of specialty Italian sodas and little cans of Coke and other mixers. They have a great aisle that has everything you need if you're hosting a specialty cocktail event, so whenever we are having a party, DeCicco's is our go-to place for supplies. Overall, they do a great job. There may be a thing or two that isn't great but nobody's perfect and they get so much right here and do it in such a great way, I have to recommend this place.

Which brings me to my newly crowned favorite sandwich - Tongue On Rye; ask for the tip slices very lean. I even got a dependable guarantee from our server she'd provide an unforgettable tongue sandwich. In a comedic mood, I asked our server to not give me any lip! She doubled over giggling and said thank you for your honesty and THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I've been asked just Tongue with "No Lip." Despite the comedy and light hearted conversation the table for two was perfect Harry & Sally style! Watching the action, enjoying the lean tongue on rye with mustard an unforgettable delight.

The still tastes good, with some exceptions. The frier oil seemed burnt, so the pickle chips we had just had that little bit of carbon taste on them. The pickle chips batter was very thick, and the mayo was the only respite. The sandwich, still tasty, seemed much smaller than normal, the meat still had good flavor, but the portion was lighter in comparison. The prices are also a bit high. The sandwich coming out to about 15 bucks. The bargain is very much gone now, and the portion is okay for a sandwich but pricy because of this shrinkage. Not shown are the overcooked onion rings. We returned those and the server promptly removed them from the bill. So really good customer service. I opted for a brownie for dessert, and the brownie was a disappointment. Too sugary, no flavor, gummy, and disappointingly small and thin. A detractor for sure. As a deli, it feels like it's on the decline. I know things are pricier now, but what you pay vs what you get doesn't match up. I'm hoping they pivot from this path, but right now it's no longer my go-to. It's still tasty, just pricy
