Terranostra - Shrimp with pesto noodles

You have the option to sit outside or inside which both are excellent options. To the right is the open kitchen and in front sits the fresh Italian meat and the most impressive is the leg of prosciutto (unfortunately did not have it on this trip). The waiters were attentive and gave wonderful recommendations. The insalata d'uva was pairs perfectly with the Gorgonzola dressing and balsamic reduction. Even better was the insalata d'asparagi which may have been one of best asparagus dishes I have had. The first thought of oranges with asparagus may be odd but just trust the chef and jump in. The Quattro formaggi may not sound that like a home run from the menu but with the copa and the smoked provolone the flavor is lifted to a place where you are wishing for a couple more bites as the dish comes to an end. The pavlova was just the right amount of sweet to end the night. Overall a very welcoming and well thought out experience and I would recommend if you have the time to stop by. I mean, service is fantastic at the entire property, but Juan made our experience comfortable and enjoyable. The lobster ravioli was not presented in the old fashion style, but a wonderfully designed pasta dish that was too lovely to eat. My dinner guest had the ceviche appetizer and pesca pomodoro salad appetizer. We loved our meal and experience. Again thank you Juan for being our server!

I had high hopes for this place based on reviews. Came during the off season and restaurant was…read morealmost empty. We (2 persons) were sat at the same time as a four top and it took us twice as long to get our drinks and food. The calamari had a fishy taste. The pasta took almost 45 minutes and did not taste like it was freshly made. While the servers were kind, the service was incredibly slow for an empty restaurant. The atmosphere was chill and enjoyed the views in a rainstorm.

I wish the dish was a little larger (3.8/5) Mains- 1) 4 cheese pizza - that was the weakest item in the entire meal - small and not crispy, felt like a 9 year old prepared it (2/5) 2) mushroom risotto was pretty good . Flavourful and rich . 3,8/5 We also got some house bread that was fantastic with some olive oil , and some home made limioncello as dejastif. Drinks were good with nice selection and reasonable prices It was quite expensive and we'll probably not return again

April 4, 2026 - 5 Stars!…read more Our group of 6 went to La Pizzarra based on positive reviews here and on Google. It was great!! It was as good of meal as we had our entire vacation- and the price was very reasonable, especially when compared to resort/hotel prices. It sits on the lagoon so there are really nice views- we prefer to sit outside and it was great. The warm rolls they brought out were delicious We started with 2 pizzas to share, and both were fantastic. We tried the BarBQ chicken pizza and the meatlovers- both really really good We all had pasta for main course. There is one dish that was penne with shrimp and chicken- that was the best. The fettuccine Alfredo was great, definitely better than average. The spicy shrimp pasta was ok- the pasta was undercooked but the shrimp and pesto was tasty. If you're looking for really good pizza & pasta- we highly recommend. We went at/around 7pm and didn't need reservations. Staff was outstanding- very friendly and very attentive

La Pizzarra delivered a thin-crust beauty loaded with quality pepperoni and well-seasoned meatballs. The sauce had just the right touch of sweetness, and the crust held up perfectly -- no flop, no soggy center, just a slice you could fold and enjoy. When you're on vacation and craving something familiar done right, this is exactly what you hope to find. A low-key win in the middle of the Hotel Zone. Highly recommend.

All-in-all it was worth the inconvenience. Very eclectic menu, warm atmosphere and outstanding service. I started withe the Mango-Tamarind: Lettuce, Indian walnut, mango, blueberries, Cotija cheese, mango-habanero dressing and tamarind billet. Unique and tasty. "Swiss Chicken Enchiladas" for the main course was not what you get at a local Mexican joint -- Four tortillas stuffed with chicken, bathed in a creamy tomatillo sauce with melted cheese and a base of refried black beans. This was a 5-star dish! I couldn't resist ordering a side dish though I didn't need to because the enchiladas were really enough, so I indulged myself with fries: these were not your run of the mill French fries. Porfirio's Potatoes -- French fries with chipotle pepper aioli, parmesan cheese and parsley. Finally, if you like ice cream I highly recommend that you order BOTH offerings: 1) "ICE CREAM TASTING" - Strawberry ice cream, chocolate ice cream from Metate, marzipan ice cream and vanilla from Papantla. Served with grated coconut, chocolate grain, M&M's, Oreo cookies and ice cream cones; and, 2) "PORFIRIO'S MOLECULAR ICE CREAM" - served with cajeta Worcestershire sauce in an ice cream cone. (I know it sounds disgusting right? Nope it worked. The chef is just showing off with this dish)

I took some notes and this is what I thought of the dishes. Xoajacan Imoladas - The mole is perfection. The flautas, superb. Everything in this plate is a symphony of what I would expect from Xoajaca. 9.5/10 Barbacoa Bonemarrow - Barcacoa is on point. The Marrow is Sublime. Together with the accompaniments is superb. I dream of Marrow everyday. This is a 10/10 Yellow fin Tosatadas - Superb!!! One of the best tostadas I have ever had. The microgreens, the sauce and the square Tostada works well all together. 8.8/10 Salmon - Cooked perfectly. The corn is a great accompaniment. The fish is impeccably seasoned. This dish is heaven sent with a 9.8/10 Grilled Octopus - Grilled perfectly, I can tell by the texture. The mash is superb, they used margarine instead of butter and I absolutely love the contrast from the traditional mash. 9.8/10 Mexican Rice - Its pretty good. It does have a nice seafoodish finish. The pepper was actually spicy. Nice and pleasant rice dish. 8/10 Charred Avocado Salad - Grilled avocado is a bit of a wash. It did make it look good on the plate. The dressing is a little weak. Needs a little more zip, some citrus or vinegar would give this salad some justice. Its a little uninspired 7/10 Service is impeccable and attentive and the atmosphere is lovely.
