I'm only reviewing the happy hour here because it's a great happy hour...specials-wise! The $3, $3, $3 deal is fantastic and should be replicated elsewhere. I'm not sure why the place wasn't busier on a Friday. The food is ok, don't expect to get blown away by anything. And the servers will do everything they can to upsell well drinks to call drinks for that extra dollar. But I'm still solid with the 4-star rating because the value is unbeatable. Try this on for size: 3 whisky and cokes + 1 quesadilla + unlimited chips & salsa = $13 Come on people! What do you really have to complain about? The service will be decent because the servers will want to raise their check total so they will always be at your table making sure you have enough food and drinks. The only catch is that you have to sit in either the bar area or the patio to take advantage of the happy hour deals. Sitting in the dining room will literally cost you. And if you're worried about calories, then you shouldn't be going out to eat anywhere because every restaurant with a bar will not be a healthy choice. Why? I feel like the employees are very rude. I called this morning to verify my reservation for brunch and they did not have my name. They said that the online system was down and there is nothing that can be done. After waiting for 20 minutes on hold, a manager came on the phone and made me out to be a huge inconvenience. She said there are no reservations for 11am and after. She made a point to tell me that we can come but there was no guarantee that we could have a table. If anything, they can fit the 8 of us in a booth for 6 people if we waited for awhile. I couldn't believe how rude she was. I called the El Torito in Corona and they took my rsvp right away. They are so slow. It took forever for us to even be greeted. I've been twice in the last month for lunch. The first time I thought it was just a bad day so I decided to give it another shot. Proved worst. I ordered chicken fajitas both times and the little chicken I had, I couldn't chew because it was so dry. They put potatoes in there fajitas, I had mostly potatoes instead of veggies. They should rename it to chicken and potatoes on a skillet. All the pictures on here I seen, mine looked nothing close to those. The only good thing here is the chips and salsa. Both times we had to get up and go to the bar to grab our own napkins, salt, and order another drink. Both times we were not checked on. No drink refills. El Torito has decent Mexican food. Not everything on their menu is good, but if you like a certain thing or have a craving for a certain dish, the food could disappoint, but probably not. The strawberry lemonade is pretty good, but I think it would be better with actual strawberries. The sweet corn bread that comes on the side of most dishes is very good too. Service is a hit or a miss at El Torito. Most of the times it's okay, but it could be awful. Today when I went in, my mom and I waited 3 minutes after we got our food to eat it because our waitress forgot to bring us utensils... so I mean if you're in the mood for decent Mexican food and you like "chain restaurants," try this place out. read more

This is for the Manager Oscar. Short, bald and glasses I show up to the bar and tell him respectfully my beer taste kinda flat and has no carbon dioxide (bubbles in a drink). He literally grabs my drink, grabs a straw and spins a straw in it to make the bubbles appear and says there "see it's not flat" infront of both bartenders, a full bar filled with people and he laughs in my face!!! While he asks me you want another one? With his stance like he won a battle I say yes give me another and says "are you sure??" I've been here a few times and am never really impressed with the food. The brunch is ok but the omlettes are usually overly greasy and tasteless. I don't care for their tacos either but I did recently try their nachos and I must say those were tasty. So was the table side made guacamole, also margaritas are delicious! This place has become my favorite spot. All the staff are nice, all the servers are great but we always request Vicente. He just goes out of his way to make our dining experience great. Waitress was extremely rude she didn't attempt to accommodate a simple request that was moving or party to A clean table and located away from the wind gusts blowing napkins and straws off the table.
