We've ate here for years and love the salsa. They have a kids menu and the staff never complain about the mess my kids make. I try to clean it up every time but they are very adamant about doing it. Very disappointing! My family of 5... 3 kids under 5yrs old, came to eat here. The service was quick at first, but died with the servers. No one had any answers to menu questions. Once our food arrived, we were missing a plate & tortillas ..and no one would answer when we asked about it. The food wasn't even lukewarm, bland and tasteless. We spend $60 for crap food. The cashier asked the couple in front of me how it was, but not my family. Sadly this isn't the first time the whole experience has left us unsatisfied. We will be taking our business elsewhere. Business conditions: The building needs maintenance and upkeep. Carpet is filthy & torn up, some of the bathroom facilities don't work and the tables had graffiti scratched into them. read more

The food here has gotten really bad. Not only that, they are always changing things. I've been and the salsa is good and when I've gone back it's horrible. The last time the salsa was like ketchup in consistency and was so hot you couldn't eat it. I wish they'd figure out how they want to make things and stop changing stuff. We drove from Fort Worth to Cleburne on the Chisholm Trail to go to a BBQ we heard about only to find that they were not open on Saturday night, so we started back toward home and saw a place that looked a busy called El Torito and decided to try it. The waitperson was very nice, knowledgable and patient with us and we decided on two separate dishes and were were both pleased. The chips and salsa were warm and good, with a touch of hotness. I would have tried the soup, but I think it only comes in $7 bowls, so I didn't. The man who served the main dishes was very nice and I told him that we enjoyed our meals. He thanked me and said that he enjoyed hearing it. We will go back. read more

I was in Cleburne for business on Friday. I stopped into El Toritos for lunch. The wait staff was very friendly. I ordered the grilled fish and shrimp from the lunch menu. The portion was very generous. I was surprised at the quality of the food. I will definitely stop again. read more

The owner swore at my 80 year old mother yesterday when we went there after her sister's funeral. Allow me to preface this by saying I've been a loyal customer for years, bragging about the place constantly. But, since COVID hit, the owner has been increasingly rude and the product has suffered. The service, the food, everything. It came to a head yesterday. My mother has Parkinson's and she moves slowly, even with her walker. The owner was walking behind my mother, carrying a huge tray of food for another table. My mother was shuffling toward the back dining room to join my brothers and cousins. A waitress asked her to move out of the way and she was trying. But she couldn't move fast enough. And when the owner of the restaurant impatiently tried to dart around her while carrying a three- foot wide tray covered In hot food and dishes, he nearly plowed her over. Then he shouted "Jesus Christ, Lady!!!" My husband heard him and was livid, but he let it go, because we had 20 people back in the big dining room, socially distanced, of, course, ordering food, four of whom had just lost their mother and grandmother. If you want good food, free margaritas and a heaping helping of elder abuse from the restaurant owner, go to Atorito. If you want free margaritas in an abuse-free environment, go to any number of other restaurants up and down Main Street or Henderson in Cleburne. There are kind, friendly restaurant owners who also want to serve liquor, but do not want to deal with liquor licenses. Atorito, you're not the only game in town. read more

The salsa at this place is outstanding! I usually don't like salsa but El Torito makes amazing salsa. Also, the fajita meat is super tender and they even have a basketball gum ball machine for children. The owner, Oscar, is very friendly and a great guy. Also, service is very good and the food comes out very fast. They have big portions for cheap and the food is worth every penny spent! read more

Says closed on here.... but they are very open. They should probably stay closed. We went for the first time tonight. No kids menu, no milk, no guacamole, food was mediocre at best.
