    Totopos with salsa and guacamole

This place was a bit hard too find. It's inside Westfield bondi junction on level 5 and you really need to pay attention. Inside they have a mix of communal tables and booths. They also have an interesting space that is semi outdoor. On a cool day, definitely being a jacket. And be careful when leaning against the wall when it rains as the water seeps through. My friend's jacket got wet as she was leaning on the wall at dinner. Margaritas were interesting, but they didn't blow me away. The chips with guac and salads were standard. I liked the plantains with spices and tacos. We ordered southern fried chicken and soft shell crab. Mushroom quesadillas were yummy but I couldn't taste the truffle despite a mention on the menu. The spicy beef quesadillas were rather dry. The service was friendly but when we were finishing up our meals, they weren't subtle when hurrying us to finish, pay up, and leave. So... 3 stars because the food was pretty good, but service at the end were rather meh...

I had a quick lunch here before catching a movie. It was pretty empty here on at around noon on a Sunday. I tried two soft shell tacos - crispy chicken and soft shell crab. Both were surprisingly delicious. A little too pricey though (hence the 3 stars) Would definitely be back to try other food.

This restaurant is on level 5 of the Westfield and is a good option for a pre movie dinner spot if you are after drinks and Mexican food. Great with a group of friends make sure you grab a booth and order from the menu to share - I would recommend the tacos and the tequila tasting plate. This place has a bar atmosphere and is so dark inside that you could sometimes mistake it for the nightclub (which is directly downstairs). If you are feeling really adventurous try the crickets!!

Last Wednesday I was at your establishment and was embarrassed and publicly ridiculed by one of your staff. I was allowed into eltopo and then 20 mins later was asked to come outside because they wanted to check my ID again. I was fine with this as I knew it was my ID and was not blind drunk. After they took me outside the front door person said I had to wait for the cops to come and check the ID I then waited outside for hours. I had said I don't need to go back inside just wanted my ID back as I wanted to go home (my friend who I was staying with was still inside) I said that she could stay in there until I got my ID back because there was no point both of us waiting outside. I asked multiple times when the cops were coming and got no answer. By this point the club was closing and I kept asking for my ID back and the door guy said because of the law he couldn't legally do that. The thing that annoyed me the most and has me upset is that he never asked to see any other forms of ID to prove as I had 2 cards with my full name on them and ended up giving me back my ID hours later when the cops hadn't even came! I could of gone home and when they didn't believe my real ID but the fact that he made me wait for hours saying only the cops could give it back and then he handed it back to me is unexplainable! I took multiple videos of the whole thing and can send them through. I also talked to friends and they said they have also had problems with this guy. I have never felt more publicly ridiculed than I did that night and have felt so upset the past few days because this type of thing shouldn't happen

Not a bad establishment. This place can attract mixed reviews, yet I was fortunate enough to have been invited to their opening night. Their cocktails are so bursting with hot flavour, and the food is otherwise okay. The fish varieties are a hit. This Mexican restaurant was at the top of my list until I visited Mexico Food and Liquor in Surry Hills. The latter establishment acts in a similar manner to El Topo - yet Mexico is now the hit! Sorry guys, better luck next time...

Slow cooked egg, chorizo, turtle bean and potato. Awesome!

Was intrigued by $3 tacos, tortilla was old, flakey and flavourless, filling lacked flavour aswell. Hands down worst food I've ever had.

This is no sloppy, messy, greasy mexican fast food. This is good mexican street food - possibly better than some of what you'd get on the streets of Mexico City. I love popping in and grabbing a couple of tacos, sitting at the bar table by the window and watching the goings-on in the Tea Garden Hotel's beer garden across the road - it's always comical! I'm also a huge fan of the mini-burritos, which are the perfect size! What's most impressive about GYG is the continuity in the quality of food, quality of service and the overall dining experience of this chain of restaurants. Every GYG I've visited is excellent. There are a large number of Mexican "restaurants" around town that could learn a thing or two from GYG. I only wish GYG would bite the bullet and open a full restaurant with a beer as they would make a killing. Mi gusto mucho.

I've been here quite a few times, so I've sampled quite a few options on the menu....and my favourite would have to be the Barramundi Bowl....i decided to try it for a change (as I normally do the Veggie Bowls - also excellent) and now I have an addiction. The food taste super fresh and flavoursome and despite the fact that these places are popping up faster than acne on your teenage cousin, it seems they have still maintained their quality.... So back to the Barramundi Bowl - it's basically grilled Barrumundi fish pieces on rice with vegetables and yummy mexican additions like guacamole, peppers and sour cream.... it is so good but my description doesn't do it justice.... it' costs around $12 and I really really really really recommend you try it! If only they sold Tequila here, I think I'd never leave...

I originally found it by wandering around the shopping centre years ago and have been here a few times, namely for a drink while waiting for a movie to start. However, since I discovered cinemas in the city I rarely head out to Bondi Junction for a movie when I happen to be in Sydney. As for the pub, well it's not really one of my favourites. Honestly, it's pretty dull, and the only reason I ever came here was because it was convenient (and I didn't know about the other pubs in Bondi Junction).

The Eastern is located in Bondi Junction (the building is actually a part of Bondi Westfield) just a short walk from the station. The Eastern is famous for its big Wednesdays and ability to attract a crowd in the middle of the week, when all the other nightclubs are so-called 'dead'. The club offers three levels of good music (different levels, different music) so you and your friends can split up and hang out in whatever area you prefer, or try out all levels at a time. Rather conveniently, there's a bar located on each level to make sure you and your friends are hydrated throughout the night. On Wednesdays, entry is free or discounted when you put your name on the guest list. Just sign up on Facebook and click attending and you're halfway there already. My mood changes when it comes to the Eastern, I used to have a pretty good time there, but the end of the HSC year heralds nights better spent at home.

Seems to be a popular place. Several parties were going on, seemed like a bachelorette party, a birthday, a group of folks all dressed in pink and another group dressed like flappers. It was extremely loud and unfortunately I was not able to make my way to an area where I could have checked out the view. It is semi covered by a roof and then there is an open air area, but the are large umbrellas you can hide under. I had a nice little drink and enjoyed the people watching. They have quite a drink menu and also offer some food, but that is rather limited. Just come up here for the drinks and the party atmosphere. I have to say that the bartenders are very nice.

The staircase had a few more steps than I had thought but since the walls were covered with a rather nifty form of graffiti art sort of fun. Overall I found the seating and general atmosphere of being up on the roof top extremely pleasant and sort of a welcome relief from being on street level. The general set up with bar and food service is really good, orderly, neat, clean, trendy and fun. For food, I went for the for their Wagyu flat iron steak. Though listed on their menu as barbecue it actually came grilled, but that might be because Australians, as is the much the same situation in the United States north of the Mason Dixon line, are oblivious to the differences between "barbecuing" and "grilling." Hence when Australians say they are going to "toss whatever on the barbie," they actually mean they are going to toss it upon an open grill. Nevertheless, the steak was really good, served with a nice side salad. My dining companion, Yelper Jim D., ordered the salmon skewers which were likewise perfectly grilled, served with a side of greens and topped with a sprig of fresh dill in what was not only delicious but eye appealing. Because of the good food, reasonable prices and nifty rooftop location, I haven't any hesitation in being a fan of Sweetheart's or of recommending it.
