    Carne Asada completo.

Nicaraguan cuisine is pure comfort food! El Nica served up some amazingly delicious seasoned Carne Asada, complete with rice, beans, fried cheese, cabbage salad and plantain chips. Their fried Tostones with cheese was tasty and that fresh passion fruit juice just refreshingly hits the spot! New owners are really friendly and service was good. Must check out this place and see for yourself.

Excellent food and cozy ambiance. This small restaurant has a variety of delicious Nicaraguan dishes and treats. Very clean and friendly to cater to the entire family. The service and food was great. My must go-to restaurant whenever I come to the Sarasota/Tampa area!

Everything was amazing! From the service to the food, it has a family feel you can't get everywhere. You can tell they care about what they make for you! Great little spot which can be missed but you are missing out. If you want authentic Nicaraguan food and you're in the Tampa/St Pete/Pinellas area, make the trip to El Tio Nico!

Carne Asada was great a little pricey. It seems family run which wasn't bad and it's best to pay in cash if you can.

My brother who lives there swore by this spot, and the second I walked into Mi Carreta, I knew he wasn't exaggerating. The Bandeja Paisa? Absolute perfection. We're talking perfectly grilled steak, a runny fried egg, sweet plantains, creamy red beans, fluffy white rice, fresh avocado, crispy chicharrón, and grilled chorizo--all on one glorious platter. I attacked it so fast I didn't even snap a photo, but trust me, that plate is burned into my memory forever. As if the food wasn't enough, the TV above the counter was showing the World Cup group draw live. We found out who Colombia is facing right there over lunch--talk about perfect timing! The whole place was buzzing. For the grand finale, we grabbed a few Colombian donuts (buñuelos and pandebonos) to go. Sweet, cheesy, impossible to eat just one. If you're anywhere on Florida's west coast and craving authentic Colombian food, do yourself a favor and head straight to Mi Carreta in St. Pete. You can thank me (and my brother) later!

The workers knew exactly what they were doing and even in busy time of the market they were quick to buss tables, get ordered items to customers fast and the bathroom was pristinely clean. The bumping A/C provided instant relief as we claimed the stools by the bar. My friends and I quickly agreed, this place is an absolute gem. So gorgeously decorated and the drinks, the mocktails, the pastry items, the food were beautiful and delicious. It really appeared they did everything well here. They have a great overall selection on their menu, a variety of authentic Venezuelan dishes you can dig in to. Really, we were craving empanadas - but we are eager to try more dishes next time. We ordered three carne mechada empanadas (shredded beef hand pies), one cheese empanada, and two mora natural juices. Each orderaccompanied with a side of their house sauces that compliment the natural on-going flavors of the empanda - a creamy, white garlic sauce (salsa de ajo) and a cilantro based sauce (salsa de cilantro).
