From the moment we walked in the gorgeous decor, authentic touches, and vaulted ceilings just made you feel like you were in a beautifully curated space. It's hard to resist chips and salsa, but these chips were probably the thinnest and crispy chips I've ever had! They were accompanied by a choice between red and green salsa. I didn't try the green today, but the red was very tasty, without the heat. Our server was incredibly good at her job! Quick and personable. Three of us had the potato tacos, I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but the way this dish was described on the menu. I had to try it.. and it was just as delicious as it sounded. I decided to do a side salad instead of the beans and rice and that also was a 10 out of 10. They heard that we were there for an employee appreciation lunch so they pulled out what's called "the celebration" I won't ruin the surprise, but if you go, they do this celebration for any occasion! They made us feel very welcomed very at home and the whole experience was very lovely. I'd also like to include GORGEOUS BATHROOMS. Have you ever gone to dine out and been having a great time, had to use the restroom and it was such a terrible experience that's ruined your visit? This place is wall-to-wall, floor to ceiling perfect!

I have been hoping to find an easier-to-access carne asada in the Sacramento area. While not the steak slices I have seen at La Taqueria, Santacos grilled carne asada is very tasty. I ordered the Bowl with Carne Asada. It comes with Spanish rice, whole beans, lettuce, tomato, onion, cilantro, guacamole, and sour cream. Generous portion. I'd say meat fills about 1/2 the bowl! Yummy dinner. Service was kind, helpful, and courteous. Because I asked questions about the carne asada preparation and cut of meat, she offered me a sample. It was near the end of festival day and the last day of the festival. Carne asada was tender and juicy. I look forward to trying the tacos, quesabirria, and quesadilla. I asked if the burrito wrappers were grilled, and they are! For the calendar and locations, follow Santacos on Instagram: @santacosmx

It had rice, whole beans (thoroughly cooked), cheese, asada and cilantro (I asked for no onions). It paired so well with the hot sauce they offer and was one of the best burritos I've had in a while. It was savory, hot and satiated my Mexican food craving. I'm also Mexican so this burrito went above my expectations than normal Mexican food restaurants/vendors. Would 10/10 recommend!

Our server Mirta was terrific. She kept an eye on our water glasses, noticed which salsas we were eating most and brought more when we were low. Never had to look for her for anything - she was just perfect... and we were ordering different things at different times. The food was excellent! I had the veggie chili rellenos - highly recommend. Topped with fresh corn and a delicious cream sauce. Others had the ribeye and shrimp fajitas, skirt steak, salmon, grilled shrimp, shrimp enchiladas - every dish was fabulous. The tres leches cake and poached pear desserts were amazing... I'm glad I didn't read the previous reviews before I went because they would have turned me off. But I strongly disagree with the bad reviews. Service with Mirta was terrific, the food was amazing, and they turned the music down without any issue whatsoever. Sure, I like Dos Coyotes down the street (like a reviewer recommended) - but this restaurant is in a whole different class. I will definitely return. The food was excellent!

I also ordered the molcajete, and it was missing nopales, which are typically a standard part of the dish. It felt incomplete and not true to what was advertised. This dish cost $68, there should have been better communication. Their reasoning was that they " were out " .This was only communicated once I asked and in no way was there an apology or any time of efforts to make this right . I visited this establishment at around 11am on a Sunday. Overall, the experience didn't live up to expectations. Hoping they improve consistency between what's shown and what's actually served.
