Stopped by for lunch after a long flight, wanting to branch out from my usual go- to spots like Tres Hermanas and Zocalo. First impressions were great! The ambiance is cool, vibrant, and colorful, and the customer service was phenomenal. However, the food was just underwhelming. I'm a huge fan of chips and salsa and heard great things about theirs. Unfortunately, the execution fell short. Every single chip tasted purely of salt, and while the salsa flavor was fantastic, it was so incredibly over salted that it triggered an immediate headache. For the main course, my dad and I ordered the Baja fish tacos and the pollo tacos. The taco flavors themselves were amazing, but the rice was served cold, which was pretty weird considering the restaurant had only been open for 30 minutes. My dad didn't even touch his because it was completely stale. Ultimately, the meal didn't satisfy our cravings and left us hungry enough that we had to plan to buy takeout elsewhere afterward. Im also disappointed to be charged for the chips and salsa, particularly after our server informed us that they are premade and could not be served fresh. It's a beautiful space with excellent service, but these kitchen hiccups bring the experience down

We came here for 3 staff birthdays and we were wowed at how amazing the customer service was. Victor was our server but the entire staff came out in the best birthday entrance that a restaurant can give . The restaurant truly transformed from public house to a beautiful Mexican themed decor. The food was ok, and the dessert was very good ! I had the birria tacos and they were good . I'm just sad the rice or beans didn't have much flavor. I am from an area where my Mexican food is top notch flavor town. I would come for the drinks and vibes all day. The food was decent too better than a lot of places downtown. Is it my best friends abuelas cooking? No. But it'll do.

Confession- I had yet to be impressed by Mexican/Latin cuisine (being a transplant from San Jose/Oakland).....until the day I dined @ Casa Lola in Sacramento!! We stumbled in when I was quite hangry on a Saturday afternoon. I might've ordered more than usual but no regrets! What stood out to me was the freshness of each ingredient + the blend of flavors. Lucky (or unlucky) for my belly y'all are 30 minutes away or we might be getting to know each other quite well.

I found this gem on tik tok! I wanted to find a nice dinner for my friend and I since we did a mini trip to Sac from San Jose! I got the al pastor tacos. Everything was so flavorful. It was also super filling! Definitely will be back!

My team selected this restaurant to celebrate a couple birthdays. The service was fabulous, on point, attentive and always taking care of each persons needs in the party. I'm the ambiance was lovely--especially a surprising birthday cheer for the celebrants. The food was all delicious. They also provided complimentary chicharones rather than the typical chips and salsa--although we ordered chips n salsa--they also refilled them as needed. We had such a great experience that we came a following week to surprise another co worker. It was also to try another dish and all was delicious. The first time I had the chile verde--delicious! The meat (pork was tender), had it with freshly made corn tortillas aside from the refried beans and rice. The dish was huge for me to finish-I had half of my plate to take home. Sorry-wasn't able to take a photo. The second time I had the al pastor tacos--loved it especially with the pineapple (fresh) pieces that brought out the flavor. This dish I finished and didn't need to take home. (Pictured)

I have been to this place about 4 times and let me say it's starting to become one of my favorites in the Sacramento area! Not only is the ambiance so cute and colorful inside but I appreciate the $2 parking across the way! I have become a huge fan of their enchiladas! I also love the agua frescas and the non alcoholic drinks they're great and priced very fairly! Everytime we have came to eat we have had exceptional service and usually we get the same waiter!

This is the spot to celebrate a birthday apparently. Literally every other table the night I went had the staff coming out with sparklers to celebrate. Molcajete mixto: A- This is a massive plate that includes everything from shrimp and steak to pork and cactus. Everything was delicious, especially the shrimp and steak. Also the rice and refried beans on the side are high quality and well made. Great sampler dish to try out what Casa Lola can make! Service is very good and the ambiance makes you feel like you're in South America!

Casa Lola delivers a lively atmosphere, strong cocktails, and a generally solid menu... though a few items didn't quite hit. We started with complimentary chicharrones and ordered the guacamole. The guacamole was excellent... fresh, well-balanced, and easily one of the better items we had. The chicharrones were just okay in my view, and my partner didn't care for them much, so a bit of a split decision there. For drinks, the margaritas were very well done which is to say clean, balanced, and not overly sweet. My partner also ordered a horchata-based cocktail with the meal, which was a standout and worth trying if it's on the menu. For mains, I had the steak salad along with a cup of the Aztec soup. The salad was very good--well-prepared steak, generous portion, and a nice mix of textures. The soup was a pleasant surprise: a rich, tomato-based broth with a nice savory depth. I'd recommend adding it if you're on the fence. My partner ordered a mixed taco plate (steak and fish). The steak taco was solid, but the fish taco leaned a bit bland and could have used more seasoning or contrast. Service was excellent throughout and attentive without hovering. We sat outside, and it made for a really pleasant dining experience, especially with the energy of the street and the restaurant's overall vibe. We finished with churros for dessert, which we both enjoyed. Portion size was generous and more than enough for two. The space itself is worth mentioning: bright, colorful, and busy in a good way. It has that modern, high-energy feel that works well for groups or a casual night out. Bottom line: If 3.5 stars were an option, that's probably where I'd land--but the quality of the cocktails, strong service, and overall experience push it up to a solid 4.

Ambiance Regatone playing in background. Art so authentic. They opened in November. Chimichanga de birria Slow cooked beef brisket, Oaxaca cheese wrapped in crispy flour tortilla. Consome for dipping. Too many flavors to many textures. Rate 3 Luna Morada Margarita Has blackberries so good. Complimentary pork rinds. Who does that?

Work in the area and wanted to try this place ! My Supervisor and I enjoyed our meals and conversation about my promotion .., the food was delicious, complimentary chips thin and crispy like I like them, however, there were a few that were a tad bit too greasy . The vibes were cool with dancing behind the bar lol The customer service passed the test Can't wait to come back to try some of the other menu items! Until next time, Happy Eating!

Came here around Sunday at 5:30 and it was packed! We were put on the waitlist for an hour and 10 minutes. Food and drinks were delicious! The ambiance was great too, there were birthdays being celebrated and some fun music playing while we dined. Food and drinks came out relatively quickly.

Went here on a Friday evening and was surprised by how short the wait was. Our server, Stef, was amazing. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. I was torn between a few taco options, and she took the time to answer my questions. I ended up ordering the carnitas tacos and it ended up being a great choice. I also ordered the pepino loco and the tres leches cake both of which were so good. I almost skipped the pepino loco but I was so glad I didn't. It was refreshing, not overly sweet, and had a crisp cucumber flavor that really stood out. The tres leches cake was Stef's recommendation after our meal and it did not disappoint. We devoured it. Overall, the service was awesome. Our water glasses were constantly refilled, Stef checked up on us multiple times, and everything we ordered came out quickly. It was a great experience from start to finish.

I've been wanting to try this place since it opened and finally got a chance with a friend. We went on a Friday night and although they don't take reservations Friday, Saturday, and Sunday they do have a waitlist on their website which, you can add yourself to 20-30mins before you plan to arrive. I added us 30 mins before we arrived and we got a table a little sooner actually. That night they had a mariachi band going around accepting requests for songs from customers and sang to customer's for their bday too. It was great. Our waitress was great, very friendly, and attentive. We both had the Casa Magarita and it was delicious and refreshing. We shared chips with guacamole, they give you complimentary chicharrónes (pork rinds) with hot sauce and lime, and we shared the queso fundido. All of it was delicious and obviously a lot of food. For myself I ordered the quesabirria tacos with refried beans and rice. The consumé amd meat of the tacos was yummy. And so was the beans and rice. It's not easy to make a goid Mexican red rice. We got our food timely too. I'll definitely be back again.

I have been hoping to find an easier-to-access carne asada in the Sacramento area. While not the steak slices I have seen at La Taqueria, Santacos grilled carne asada is very tasty. I ordered the Bowl with Carne Asada. It comes with Spanish rice, whole beans, lettuce, tomato, onion, cilantro, guacamole, and sour cream. Generous portion. I'd say meat fills about 1/2 the bowl! Yummy dinner. Service was kind, helpful, and courteous. Because I asked questions about the carne asada preparation and cut of meat, she offered me a sample. It was near the end of festival day and the last day of the festival. Carne asada was tender and juicy. I look forward to trying the tacos, quesabirria, and quesadilla. With that said, the neighboring parking lot is crazy busy that spills over into theirs. It was after 1pm and there was only one other couple inside. Later a 60th birthday party came in so I thought that might be a good sign. The menu prices were a bit high $22 minimum for an entree. I ordered my go to steak fajitas and hubs got the shredded beef flautas. All entrees come with either a soup or salad. I chose the chicken tortilla soup and hubs got the green salad with cilantro dressing. My soup was super tasty and the best part of my meal. Salad was mostly iceberg lettuce. Chips and salsa were decent. Chips were crispy and salsa tasted homemade, not canned with just a hint of spice so very mild. His entree came first and then mine 5 minutes later. Why not bring them at the same time? By this time were the ONLY people there. Then she gave me chicken and I debated on not saying anything but not for $24 would I eat the mistake I didn't order so I did and she switched it. The portions was small on the rice and beans. I only got TWO tortillas when you usually get 3. His flautas were small. Flavor was so-so. At least they gave real guacamole, not the green good that some places try to pass off with less avo than filler. Staff was friendly but food was just okay. Unfortunately I will probably not return because of the pricing and meal satisfaction. Spending $55 after tip for lunch for two with no drinks or extras could have been better spent elsewhere. Not their fault as I assume rent in this center must be outrageous so that is reflected in their prices.
