We were greeted by the owner, Silvia, who shared that most of the furniture was imported from Mexico, the history of the restaurant name, and many other great things about the place. The drinks, were amazing! 5 stars, the watermelon margarita was refreshing. The food, I must say, the Guacamole, PERFECT! The guacamole was consistent with every bite and it tastes fresh too. I'm giving this place a three star for atmosphere and live mariachi, bc the mariachi was amazing. Our server was very attentive but took a while to take our orders. The food wasn't my favorite, but I don't know if my opinion is biased because I am used to Mexican food from San Diego and I do believe w our Mexican food is elite. But the girls didn't really care for their food and my enchiladas tasted like Mexican candy and I'm not really a fan of my food being sweet, I like savory food. I came here earlier in the week with a group of 8. It was my second time here, last time coming with about 5-6 of us. The restaurant itself is beautiful with the decor being so colorful and inviting. I honestly feel like I'm on the set of Encanto! Since we arrived with a large group we had an idea gratuity was going to be added. However, the way they "could" split our bill did not make sense. To my understanding it was splitting the bill evenly 3 ways... I'm sorry but if all I had was a horchata no way would I agree to split a 1/3 of the bill evenly. We had it all put on one card. This shouldn't be the only logical way for customers to pay. It's a good thing we all trust and like each other, lol. Food looked great and was just as delicious. Pricing was on the higher end and isn't feasible as a regular restaurant for us to dine at during lunch. Something that the restaurant should work on is an option to reduce the pricing of a plate for those that cannot eat meat. Or simply having the option to modify a dish and its pricing. My friend is a pescatarian and did not want the pork so we asked if we could reduce the price of the nachos. Our server said they couldn't on their end, which we understood, but as a business this should be looked into. This is another reason we won't be coming back soon. Just a quick review for the HH that Casa Lola offers from Mon-Thu 3-6, excluding "show" nights. Venue was very spacious and well decorated. We were promptly seated an a cozy booth and order taken. All of the appetizers are 50% off and that is a great deal. I believe portion size is the same as the regular price, but I can't confirm. We had the Queso Fundito, Nachos al Pastor, and the Chimichanga de Birria. It was honestly too much food for two people. The Queso was amazing and the Chimichanga was super good. We returned for Taco Tuesday/Happy Hour. The tacos and drinks were excellent, the ambiance was pleasant and clean, and the service was good. However, we were disappointed with the Happy Hour pricing situation. Happy Hour was not honored, and we weren't informed when we arrived or when we ordered. When we asked our server, she said she would ask the manager. She returned noting that there is a new no Happy Hour policy that none of the other servers were too familiar with. It would be helpful if this policy were clearly indicated somewhere, stating that Happy Hour is no longer offered. FYI, the menu still states HH is Monday-Thursday 4-6 pm and Taco Tuesday 4-6 pm with no exclusions noted. My girl and I came to Casa Lola for a hot date for Sunset Sips. They offer special drinks for happy hour for Sunset Sips! Casa Lola had been on our to-do list for a while because I kept seeing it all over social media. It looked like a really nice Mexican restaurant, so I was excited to finally check it out. Honestly, it was a good choice! Since it was happy hour, the restaurant and bar were packed. We were told there would be about a 20 to 30 minute wait for a table, so instead of waiting, we decided to grab two seats at the bar. That ended up being a great decision. Our bartender was really nice, friendly, and helpful. The drinks were good, and I especially appreciated that she made me a mocktail based on the ingredients and flavors I told her I wanted. I thought that was a really nice touch. The food was really good too. We started with chips and salsa, which came with both red and green salsa. What really threw me off in a good way was that they also gave us pork rinds! I definitely wasn't expecting that, but they were really good. The only negative part of the experience was the area around my bar stool. The floor was wet, and when I got up, I almost slipped. Someone did eventually come over and mop it up, which I appreciated, but it definitely could have been taken care of sooner. Casa Lola also seems like a fun place to celebrate a birthday. My family and I stopped by at this place for a quick bite to eat. I had the Pescado à la plancha with the catch of the day (sea bass). The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, with classic hacienda-style décor that gives it a warm, traditional Mexican feel. The black beans were seasoned really well, the fish was cooked nicely, but was lacking the flavor I was hoping for, I really wanted to like the rice but unfortunately it was lacking flavor as well and didn't really add much to meal. I can go to casa Lola every Sunday and not get tired. Their ambiance is chefs kiss, their food is excellent & their service is good as well. They also have mariachi playing most of the time I have been there so not sure if it's every Sunday but for when I went 3 sundays in a row, they were there every time. So we decided we just wanted drinks,so we got a few tequila drinks. -Cantarito($15.00) and a Luna Morada Margarita($13.00) The Cantarito was served in a traditional clay cup-it's super cute.The drink is made with Patron Silver,Aperol,Cointreau,lime,orange,grapefruit and club soda-it's so refreshing. The Luna Morada Margarita is basically tequila, triple sec,blackberries,lime juice and agave with a salt rim.I enjoyed this drink-one of the tastier margaritas I've ever had in town. My dad and I came to Casa Lola on a Monday night to have dinner. We were lucky enough to find street parking, but I can imagine that can be tricky at times. We were seated right away. Our server was kind, but you could tell that she was stretched a little thin, so service on taking our order, getting drink refills and bringing us the check at the end was a little slow. We started with an order of their complementary Chicharron - my only complaint about these was the hot sauce they added on top. The Chicharron themselves were delicious, but the hot sauce ended up making them a little soggy. We also placed an order for a large guacamole, which included chips and salsa. The guacamole was delicious - probably one of the best parts of our meal. The salsa lacked any real flavor in my opinion. And unfortunately, the chips were too thin and flimsy, as to where they kept breaking every time you tried to scoop the guacamole. For my meal, I ordered the quesabirria tacos while my dad ordered the Pollo tacos. He really wanted to mix and match one fish and one shrimp taco, but they don't allow mix and match. My tacos were good and had plenty of filling. My dad thought the Pollo tacos were decent as well. Amazing service and delicious food! My husband and myself are in town for a few days and staying down the street at the Hyatt. We went on an evening walk last night and passed this place. I've been wanting to try this place since it opened and finally got a chance with a friend. We went on a Friday night and although they don't take reservations Friday, Saturday, and Sunday they do have a waitlist on their website which, you can add yourself to 20-30mins before you plan to arrive. That night they had a mariachi band going around accepting requests for songs from customers and sang to customer's for their bday too. It was great. This is a good place to bring your own botte if you do not like to drink margaritas or tequilas, but who doesn't? I just happened to have a bottle of wine with me, and it was only a $15 Corkage fee. It was a good addition to our meal. We ordered a lot, portions were decent, and staff were all friendly and efficient. Such a good vibe here. Come for Happy Hour! read more
