Chimichanga was not crispy. It was soggy. But I do love their crispy tacos they are delicious.

Tried a New Mexican food spot today in Fair Oaks! Very friendly staff. I was skeptical at first because I don't like Mexican food when I don't get self-serve chips and salsa; however, I loved the food here. We were given small chip bags and three different salsas (mild red, medium green and a spicy habanero). Chips were fresh and salsa was definitely homemade. My mother ordered the Mojarra Frita (fried fish) and this was bomb. I might come back for this next time. I ordered the wet burrito with Al pastor. I loved it! It felt light. It didn't feel like I was eating something too greasy or fatty. Everything was portioned well and I appreciate that. Lastly, the Horchata was delightful. Will definitely come back to Los Gordos.

Great find! This restaurant is a hidden gem! Authentic Mexican food! Super nice staff! Fast service! Has a small dine-in area. Large menu with lots to choose from. Great prices. Generous portions. Super tasty and delicious! Order three entree meals and all were delicious! Looking forward to our next visit !

Good portions, authentic food, the best Horchata, reminds me of San Diego, we've been missing a little piece of home for four years. The girl behind the register kept things clean, was very helpful, and she was very pleasant. We came in and I don't imagine this place is ever empty.

Regular tacos (carne asada, pollo asado, al pastor)

Considering the saturation of taquerias in the area I'd say that this one is overall middle-of-the-road-tier hence the 3 stars; not a standout but not bad either. Pollo asado and al pastor meats are decently tasty with okay-ish tenderness. Carnitas is quite flavorful (favorite meat that I tried here). Can't really recommend the carne asada as it's bland and on the dry side. Hefty meat portions on the regular tacos but the burritos have a bit of filler to them (particularly rice). Horchata is a tad watery but still refreshing. Complimentary chips and salsa: chips are pre-bagged and are a little stale. Salsa tastes wholesale. Big shoutout to the cashier lady. Super sweet and friendly! Highlight of my visit here. No problems finding parking in the lot.

As you enter the restaurant, it has the Mexican feel with dark wood accents tile floor, Mexican paintings, the staff had nice looking black uniforms with red ties looking very professional. We ate outside on the patio, which is beautiful and was much quieter. They started us off with chips, salsa, and a bean dip, which is fabulous. It was so good that was almost lunch itself. I ordered a Carnitas burrito. The flavor was good. I will say it had a different flavor than other Carnitas that I've had at different Mexican restaurants. I also had it wet so it was smothered with enchilada sauce. The enchilada sauce was also different as it was chunky. All very good. The burrito is quite large. I was able to take it home and got two more meals out of it. Brunch is still going on while we were there so my wife ended up getting the French toast which came with three huge slices and looked and taste delicious as well. Pricing was fair for the two of us two meals no cocktails was about $50. I'd be back again.

The first…read morething we noticed was how hot it was inside the restaurant, which made it uncomfortable to dine in, so we ended up taking our food to go. The prices felt high for the quality and portions received. I ordered a carne asada burrito (rice, beans, meat, Pico, cheese) for $14.50. While the burrito was large, it was mostly rice and beans, and the carne asada itself was disappointing. The texture was closer to ground beef than the grilled steak flavor and consistency I was expecting. My husband ordered the three street taco plate with rice and beans for $16.50, choosing carne asada, al pastor, and carnitas. He had similar thoughts about the carne asada, and felt that both the al pastor and carnitas lacked seasoning and overall flavor. He also purchased a canned soda for $2.50, which added to what already felt like a pricey meal. I understand that restaurant costs have increased over the years, and I don't mind paying more when the food quality matches the price. However, between the lack of air conditioning, the mid food, and the overall value, we didn't feel the experience justified the cost. The service was friendly, which we appreciated, but with so many other local Mexican restaurants offering more flavorful food at similar price points, we don't see ourselves returning.
