The prices were so reasonable considering the amount of quality food we got. I had the carne asada nachos and my husband had an enchilada meal. Everything was delicious and authentic. I was skeptical at first because I don't like Mexican food when I don't get self-serve chips and salsa; however, I loved the food here. We were given small chip bags and three different salsas (mild red, medium green and a spicy habanero). Chips were fresh and salsa was definitely homemade. My mother ordered the Mojarra Frita (fried fish) and this was bomb. I might come back for this next time. I ordered the wet burrito with Al pastor. I loved it! It felt light. It didn't feel like I was eating something too greasy or fatty. Everything was portioned well and I appreciate that. Lastly, the Horchata was delightful. I've been coming here since I was like 9. The people who have been dedicated to working here for so long are some of the friendliest people i've ever met and have never been rude. The food has always been spectacular and it's priced fairly and has large portions. I've always really liked the interior and thought the new floors and painted outside looked great. Considering the saturation of taquerias in the area I'd say that this one is overall middle-of-the-road-tier hence the 3 stars; not a standout but not bad either. Pollo asado and al pastor meats are decently tasty with okay-ish tenderness. Carnitas is quite flavorful (favorite meat that I tried here). Can't really recommend the carne asada as it's bland and on the dry side. Hefty meat portions on the regular tacos but the burritos have a bit of filler to them (particularly rice). Horchata is a tad watery but still refreshing. Complimentary chips and salsa: chips are pre-bagged and are a little stale. Salsa tastes wholesale. Big shoutout to the cashier lady. Super sweet and friendly! Highlight of my visit here. No problems finding parking in the lot. read more

Los Gordos has been my home for super burritos for almost ten years. It is the only place in Sacramento that I go for a real burrito. The carne asada is seasoned to perfection, and the blend of all of the flavors in the burrito... the rice, the beans, is magic. I have had their chimichanga, which is also outstanding, along with enchiladas and other favorites. Pre-pandemic, their salsa bar was alive with so many options; they used to make these spicy pickled onions that I'd never had anywhere else, that really made them stand out from other places. Whenever I order from these guys over the phone, they always know it's me because my order is always the same - "Carne Asada Super Burrito no guac, do you have the spicy onions today?" I really enjoyed the food here, the flavor is there and I like supporting family businesses. I cannot make this a regular place though because of their underhanded business practice. Their prices on their menu do not reflect what I got charged. For example, the menu says their single taco is 2.05 and I got charged 2.50. This is just one example from my receipt. If they want the price to be 2.50 they should put that on the menu. No one likes the feeling of being nickled and dimed. read more

I was rather pleased with this place. It is right around the corner from our house. Ordered the chili relleno plate and had some chips and salsa to go with it. It came with an ample amount of rice and refried beans. The plate was excellent and full of flavor. The gal taking our order was cheerful and friendly. I get home it's pinto. I don't like places I have to open up package on to go order just to see if it's correct. Twice in my face told yes then get home it's a no. Also I got grilled chicken burrito there was nothing inside but like scrapings off bottom of pan pieces of i guess chicken at one time. ... that's my grilled chicken burrito burnt scrapings lots of rice and pinto beans I did not ask for.
