We were in the area and starving, so Quecho caught our attention and we decided to check it out. We…read morewere greeted and seated by a very friendly young lady, who recommended the outdoor dining area behind the restaurant--and it was a great call. The space was really nice, and the weather made it even better. We started with chips and guacamole, both of which were excellent. The chips were clearly made fresh, not the usual bagged stuff, and it showed. The aguas frescas were also made from scratch. We tried the horchata and jamaica, and both tasted incredibly fresh and so good. I even asked the owner to confirm, and he backed it up, our taste buds didn't lie. For our meals, we had the chicken tinga enchiladas, which were amazing, like something mom used to make. We also tried the veggie tacos, and they were just as good. The nopales were especially impressive. The service was extremely friendly, the food was great, and the location made the whole experience even better. Looking forward to coming back, thank you!

We did not order any alcohol. I would describe both meals as competent. Nothing out of the ordinary. Good salsa. Portions were about right. Pricing was probably normal for Julian but heart stopping for Orange County restaurants. Would we eat here again on another visit to Julian? Probably. Maybe we would just get some big slices of pie for dinner and watch our blood sugars rise.

This is some of the best Mexican Food I've had in a long time. And this is coming from someone…read morewho's lived in San Diego all of his life (and is now in LA!) Service was amazing, so quick to come out with fresh chips and salsa (FRESH! as in they made the chips in-house... rare trait to come by these days IMO). Quantity of food was incredible. I can't speak for the menudo (dad got this) or for the 3 egg platter (not really sure why my mom got this) but $16 for a carne asada burrito as well as the beans, rice, and veggies on the side was such a steal. Especially in Anza Borrego. I would've thought it would maybe be more expensive since it probably costs a lot to bring out the best ingredients in the desert but somehow they have it all figured out. The carne asada burrito meat was top tier. Smoky flavor, soft with charred edges, so flavorful and overall the quantity of the burrito was way more than I was expecting. Lastly, I'm just so happy my dog got to sit outside with us. They have a shaded patio with a couple tables. I think other pet parents followed suit, as this seems to be a hit for dog-friendly spots here in Anza Borrego. I'd highly recommend. What a great find by me. Go me!! This is truly a hole in the wall that needs more recognition. You won't be let down!

We were excited to grab some Mexican, and went in hungry - and were disappointed…read more While we started having good service, the two waiters got overwhelmed with the lunch rush. They gave my son's and I meal to another table, gave my husband's his (on a cracked plate); didn't refill waters, and didn't give any feedback on when our meals would come out. After 50 minutes since arriving, still not getting our food - we took my husband's to go and decided to get lunch elsewhere.
