Yes!! Found a place that doesn't put cheese sauce on their burritos. Thank goodness! Got a bean and cheese burrito and a cheese quesadilla. Both were excellent. They have a little salsa bar that also has limes, radishes, and pickles carrots. Everything looked fresh and the salsa was really good. I'm beyond happy I found this place. You can find many hidden gems while traveling on the road. This little taco joint inside of BP gas station was legit!! I can't really take all the credit for finding it on my own. I rely heavily on yelp when I'm on the road and it never disappoints. We beat the lunch rush and snagged an empty table. Hole in the wall place with the cleanest gas station bathrooms I've ever seen. Enjoyed the 3 beef tacos (platter with beans and rice) and 1 single beef taco with a corn tortilla and 2 chicken tamales. They have complimentary chips and salsa bar. Very clean and all the sauces had coverings and looked fresh. The tacos were very authentic and tasty. Tamales were the best I've ever had...not dry at all. We paid $17 for all and couldn't finish the tamales. Great authentic Mexican, great price and very conveniently located right off the highway for traveling. read more

I assure you the only thing here authentic is the Mexican imported coca-cola... the salsa bar consisted of two salsas mild and diced tomatoes with a few onions with a sprinkle of cilantro.... Some garlic marinated horse carrots... Let's move on to the food itself... I got a pork tamale that was nothing more than plain masa... no seasoning or even any meat... I also had beef fajitas.. zero seasoning on the carne not even salt. Nor did the veggies. Onions and bell pepper... for some reason it had a grilled quartered tomato. Not a sign of flavor or chili to be found in the whole store. I guess they don't sell chilies, oregano, cumin, salt or pepper in Georgia. They spoke Spanish and looked Hispanic I'm not sure where the disconnect is. I promise you that when they get together at Christmas with the whole family they get asked to bring the plates and cokes... #26-2021 been a year and a half since I've made my first long-winded review here. covid changed a few things dining room open dining room closed you can eat in here again the hours did change though no longer open till 10:00 at night they shut down at 8:00 p.m.. still closed on Sunday. still no booze allowed to be consumed on the premises. but other than that aside still has the full menu hasn't changed at all loads of options how taquito begin and the southern California base and that's why it's got a California flavor to it when you come in and Chow down. still everything seems to be very authentic right down to the menudo which I do not eat but of course I don't really care for beef tripe LOL. sure I came in here to taco Tuesday I ordered the three taco plate with steak cheese sour cream lettuce tomato and light cilantro everything cooked fresh right off the grill got the combo meal so I got some rice and beans. they put some more funky stuff in the rice I wasn't too fond of that and the beans had some kind of cheese mixed into it but for the bulk of the real meal it was fine. just keep up the good work there's not much else to say I could go on forever but I'll be repeating myself like a broken record for my first review back in 2019. read more

Food was very small portions. This is overpriced for what it is. I ordered a coke and they gave me a horchata. I took one sip and took it back and told the lady at the register I ordered a coke. She picked up the cup and shook it and said it will be $2.99 for a coke. I told her I'm not paying for my drink twice. This place is the definition of a hidden gem! Hands down, my favorite Mexican restaurant -- probably ever! It's attached to a BP gas station off the Moreland exit on 85 South, but don't let that scare you away (I know what you're thinking, gas station food? What? Trust me, people.) As soon as you pull into the parking lot, you will smell the goodness. Walk into the BP, and on the left you will see the smallish entrance to El Taquito. It looks small, but they recently remodeled so there's tons of space to sit and eat. First, the service -- this must be a little family-owned business, because the same people have been working here for years. The older gentleman is always so polite, and even knows my usual order. The old lady is very fast, even when it's busy! The way they work is: you go to the counter and order your food. They will ask if you want it for here or to go. If you're staying, find a table or booth you like, and they'll bring it to you, or if they're busy, they'll call your number and you'll go pick up your tray. The food, oh baby. I love everything here. First of all -- best horchata. Creamy and not too sweet. Their other aquas frescas are tasty, and they rotate on what flavors they offer. I've had mango, soursop, guava, passionfruit -- never had a bad one. You can really taste the fresh fruit. They also have Mexicans soda (Jarritos), as well as other refrigerated beverages like Mexican coke, or coconut water. My most favorite things to eat are: tamales, pozole (pork and hominy stew), and tacos. The tamales come in various fillings, but the two they usually have are pork or chicken. They are both amazing. The masa is flavorful and never dry. Their pozole is such a great comfort food, and the tacos are my go-to food. The carnitas are my favorite -- so juicy and flavorful -- but the asada is also incredible. My beau loves the burrito mojado. It's this massive burrito filled with your choice of meat -- choose the steak asada, folks -- topped with queso and salsa. For only $9! read more

Maybe just a bad day for them. First off, they only take cash for the time being. I rarely carry cash but oddly enough, that day I had some in the car. After reading several reviews, I opted for the carne asada three taco plate. The food came out quickly and was hot. I'm always appreciative of that. You'd be surprised how many times I've been given luke warm food I was extremely hungry because, like usual, work never goes as planned and eating takes a back seat, so I was beyond hungry at this point. The establishment is inside a gas station, truck stop so parking didn't come easy but that isn't their fault. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. The food was sub par. Absolutely nothing on that plate had flavor. I always try my food before adding any condiments. The asada was so dry. Take dry and flavorless and add it to a corn tortilla, your mouth is just begging for water to wash it down. A lot of water. Rice and beans....no flavor. Thank goodness I grabbed three containers of salsa. Dumping cold salsa on hot food then makes it luke warm at best. I was sadly disappointed about this meal. I ended up dumping the meat out, adding salsa and eating that alone. The meal was just over $10.00. I will say the salsa was very fresh. You can tell they make it in house but it wasn't good enough to save the dish nor should it have had to. read more

Always a stop on trips through Newnan! Fresh and delicious every time :) They leave out toppings to add to your food like carrots, radishes, and assorted salsas, and this is one of my favorite parts. It's also yummy to pair with a soda. Highly recommend. read more

I had 2 steak tacos and a chicken taco, my husband had the tamales, our 7 year old had the beef tacos, and our 2-1/2 year old had the rice and beans. Everything was tasty and fresh, prices were fair. I was traveling on my motorcycle and stopped for gas and a break when I smelled the wonderful aroma emanating from the store.
