This place finally answered my call! Lol okay so my review is going to be a bit short due to minimal interaction with the restaurant staff. Restaurant: small and don't have a seating area, only for takeout. Service: the gentleman answered and took my order efficiently! He gave me plenty of options to choose from (for my tacos) and didn't sound agitated or anything so that was very much appreciated. Food: now the important part: I ordered 4 shrimp tacos (to share of course! Lol) and they tasted good. The shrimp was grilled, well seasoned, but the tortilla was store bought and thick. They used lettuce, cheese, and sour cream & tomatoes (it's what comes on the supreme). I will say it gave me homemade taste. So if you're looking for something more flavorful with homemade sauce, you may want to go to Don Nachos up the street and pay $20 for 4 shrimp tacos. Overall this place is a great alternative to Don Nachos up the street for takeout only, due to the reasonable prices & fast service! We only paid $15 for 4 which is good.

Dining at Lucy's is like walking into your families own kitchen. Mom and dad are in the semi-open kitchen making everything from scratch. Their son is out front working hard. The chips are light and airy with a great crunch. The salsa is freshly made and very tasty with a medium amount of spice. We had the mushroom burritos, filled full with beans, rice, chopped tomatoes, avocado slices, lettuce and wonderfully cooked mushrooms. The homemade flour tortilla is grilled and has a slight crunch - one of the best burritos you can have. And it's huge! If we are ever back in the area we will stop back. If you're on one of the highways near this gem, it's certainly worth driving a few miles out of your way!

It's decent. Did not want to drive further and found this spot on Yelp. It's a hole in the wall but it's clean and the food is made to order and fresh. We liked the crispy thicker chips and salsa. They don't have fountain drinks so you have to get the canned or bottled drinks. They have tap water and unlimited tea. I had a taco salad which is smaller the amount I'm used to at other locations. The salad bowl used is basically the same as the fried nachos uncut. My son had the nachos with chicken. They said that it's marinated shredded chicken but he said the flavor is okay. The service is good. The young man is polite and checked on us consistently. We were the only ones there eating so I'm not sure what it would be like if all five tables were full. It's decent spot. The flavors are just okay. I may try it again if I don't want to drive to Fayetteville or downtown.

To go order Was ok. Ordered 10 hard taco, cheese dip, and chips. Chips are extra when to go lol. Came home and they were deep fried flour tocas. Not bad, but not authentic corn tortillas. Their chips were also flour and not corn. Again, not bad but also not what I was expecting. The signs they have taped up front make them seem like they're pissed off with customers asking for chips and among other things. The meat lacked salt but the other flavors were there. The cheese dip was liquid so I brought it home and fixed it by adding pepper jack cheese and sliced jalapenos to thicken it up.

This place is fantastic!!! It taste like food you get in Mexico. The potions are huge so split. Wife said guacamole was close to orgasmic. Picky kids even liked it. Tortillas are made fresh and damn fantastic. Cheese did not come from Differences than other less traditional Mexican restaurants: Chips are thicker than normal restaurants. Queso is thinner.

The food was delicious. The homemade chips were thick and golden brown. Beware: the verde cheese enchiladas were a slow burn. Wasn't expecting that. LASTLY, the item I judge Mexican restaurants the most on: the salsa. It was perfect amount of fresh herbs, medium chunkiness, and tasted great! The staff was very friendly. We will be back!

This place will blow you away, don't be judgy and be patient, because these meals are cooked to order. Definitely recommend if you want to refresh your taste buds on the quality and authenticity of Hispanic foods. Homemade chips on the table when you arrive. Order guacamole, thank me later, best I've ever had. I ordered the steak gordita's. Love love love the homemade tortillas.

    Hidden gem!

Amazing food! We love getting takeout here! Tacos, queso, fajitas and delicious chips! Super low key hidden gem! Support small business they appreciate it!

Food was ok, service the same. Definitely authentic Mexican food. I've had better but, it's good enough for me not to have to travel to Buford Hwy for good Mexican food. Maybe I came on an off day. I'll give it another try in about 2 weeks, and give an update.

They're fast and efficient, the salsa's fresh the chips are crisp. They're accommodating to changes that you would like.... Like I substituted beans for rice and a chicken Verde enchilada for a regular chicken enchilada on my combo plate. The chicken quesadillas are huge. And be aware that the fajita carnitas is not cut up. I can't wait to go back and try the Heurvos Rancheros for breakfast. I'm not a big fan of refried beans, but theirs were delish and my memory of the best Heurvos Rancheros I ever had was on top of delicious refried beans that were fresh.

I lived in the north Dallas area for 39 years and have visited the gambit of outstanding Mexican restaurants before moving to Florida and experiencing the epitome of mediocre or just plain bad. We come to Fairburn once a year at most for the Florida Renaissance Festival. This is our go-to restaurant for dinner from the day we arrive until our final evening here. I haven't had a single menu item that I've been disappointed with to-date. I've had fajitas, enchiladas, and authentic Mexican. The music on weekend evenings is loud. You need to arrive early or be prepared to wait for a table. Seating is perhaps a bit limited for how many people I've seen waiting for their seats. The 22 oz margaritas hit the spot after an 8-hour drive and check-in to the hotel next door. I can recommend the tableside guacamole for starters and the chicken poblano as a meal if you love authentic Mexican food.

Our server, Joey, really stood out. He took the time to educate us on the drinks, had a great personality, and made the whole experience comfortable and enjoyable. We even got into some good conversation--he mentioned he's originally from Oklahoma--which added a nice personal touch. The drinks were phenomenal. They were strong, well-balanced, and refreshing. I had the horchata, and the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh. I also tried a classic margarita with tajín on the rim--it was strong in a good way and very refreshing. Definitely one of the highlights of the visit. The food itself was flavorful and well-seasoned. I ordered the steak and lobster with mashed potatoes. Everything tasted great, and you can tell they put care into the preparation. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is due to a couple of issues. I asked for my steak medium, but it came out well done, and there was a hair in my mashed potatoes. That said, the way the staff handled it really impressed me. They were extremely apologetic and quickly replaced my entire meal without hesitation. The second steak actually came out even better than the first. Mistakes happen, and what really matters is how a restaurant responds--and they handled it very well. Overall, a great experience, and I would definitely come back.

LoL!! La Costa Tacos y Mariscos sits in the strip mall behind the BP. The location is in the back corner so make sure you're on the lookout for it as it's possible to pass it by accident... I walked in taking in the authentic cultural ambiance. The location is small, however, they made great use of the space. There are a few High Top 2 seaters towards the front and some booth style seating towards the back. As I explored the menu I was pleased to see the variety of options. There is something for any food needing mood. I decided on the #1 which is 2 Tacos with Rice and Beans. Please note, the beans are Refried Beans and not the usual Black beans I'm accustomed to being served as a side. I chose to go with the Steak Tacos and I am pleased with my decision. To note, the tacos only come with the corn shell. The steak was perfectly done and well seasoned. The tacos are meaty and very filling. The tacos alone get a 7/10 from me. They really carried the combo for me... The rice was rice. Nothing special about it, minimal seasoning but goes well mixed with the beans or added to the taco. The rice by itself gets a 3/10 from me. The refried beans were standard and used as an additive to my rice and filler to my tacos. LoL!! The salsa provided was mild and fresh. It had the authentic salsa flavoring and went great with everything on my plate. The service was pleasant and friendly, and the establishment was super clean. Overall, I would recommend La Costa Tacos y Mariscos if you are in the mood for Mexican and want it quick. I would use this as a lunch pick up option when in the area.

Hopefully this time goes better, now that I can see that the location already exists. We used to eat at a different Monterey location north of Atlanta about a decade ago (when we lived up there). There hadn't been a franchise open anywhere down this way until now, AFAIK. I ran across this one online and suggested we go try it out. We ate here on a Saturday in early December. They are about a half mile west of I-85 a couple of exits north of Newnan. The area appears to be a (currently) new large shopping plaza anchored by a Publix. There are a number of other retain shops there, and also an outparcel with even more shops. Monterey is located in the outparcel. There seemed to be sufficient parking close by, but if not there is always the huge adjoining Publix lot. Most of the patrons seemed to be families with kids or groups of older couples. I think there is a huge subdivision adjacent to this plaza, so between that and the areas in between Fairburn and Newnan, they draw a big crowd. It was almost but not quite full when we were there. The layout of the restaurant (as you enter from the front) is a large single room with a bar towards the back left corner. There are booths along the right wall and tables covering most of the rest of the floor. The menu had the standard Tex-Mex offerings you'd expect. As seems to the trend lately, they no longer list 30+ individual combo meals - you just build your own from a set of items (which is fine). My wife opted for a soup, which was huge. She had at least half of it left for later. If I lived a bit closer to this place, I'd probably become a semi-regular. As it is, we have other Mexican options closer to us, so I probably won't make the 20-minute drive here that often. It was worth stopping in, though.
