Great food, Excellent price but kind of rude server. Went here for the first time today for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the flavor, price and speed of service. My server maybe was having a bad day or perhaps I look like someone that used to take his lunch money or stole his girlfriend. Regardless, I asked what the highlights of certain menu items meant as there was no legend and he actually acted mad at me for asking. Incredible service I wish I could give them more than 5 stars!! I came in ready to eat as soon as we got sat they brought us chips and salsa. It was fast service and the server even brought us refills without us having to ask. He also brought us to-go cups once we were done with our meals. Great food at great prices - my family orders almost weekly - and every time i am in town - So friendly and fast - AND orders always correct

I don't think I've ever been served an over-cooked and barely warm dish at the same time before so that is certainly an accomplishment here. The service was practically nonexistent, the seasoning was as well and the "fresh" tomatoes and peppers on my side were freezer burned to boot. My server never asked me how my meal was and didn't stop by the table until after my food was completely cold. I won't be back. read more

Great little spot. Ample parking, plenty of tables; seat yourself upon entering. Server was quick with two types of salsas one that was warmed and less spicy for the kids and a more spicy salsa for the grown ups. Margarita was large and delicious. Server stayed on top of everything and did a great job. Carne Asada was good, Chile rellano was also pretty good. Flavors and salsa seemed a bit bland for what I prefer was the only set back. I have been going to El Charro for years. It has always been my favorite restaurant...until recently. My most recent visit was horrible. I placed my order and they brought the wrong thing and then asked if it was ok for me to accept it. I said no and they brought out something similar to what I ordered but the portion size was so small and paltry that it did not justify the amount I was paying for it. Sooooo...I told my server I was leaving and didn't want what was sitting before me. I offered to pay for my iced tea, which was $3 and yes they charged me and took my money. The attitude that I received from the cashier (who knows me) was no apology, no empathy, nothing. I'm finished with El Charro. Yes, you have lost my business forever. I left El Charro and went right down the street to El Ranchero and received outstanding service, portions that are worth the price paid, and really good food. El Charro has been going downhill for while. read more

This place is basically a terrible version of Tex mex. The steak was like canned dog food and the guacamole costs $3.75 extra and it's like they made it in a blender. There was no tomatoes or onions or anything to make the guacamole palatable. The salsa is definitely canned because it was a mouthful of salt. We were hoping the food would be better since it's not a chain restaurant but it's best suited for children and people who think Taco Bell is authentic Mexican food. The interior is a little out-dated, but it was super-clean. The food was great! I was looking for a hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant, and I'm glad I found it! I ordered the cheese quesadilla and t lunch taco salad. I have never had a problem with this place and I come here a lot and get the same thing ! But today when I got my food I took the first bite of my taco salad and I heard a crunch, it was a PIECE OF ICE !! Oh but it gets worse, THERE WAS PAPER AS WELL ! The meat was cold I'm guessing from the ice. But my thing is when I sent it back one of the ladies looked and said that it was straw paper from my straw. Um do you think I am going to eat paper ????? No. There was also chunks of paper in the salad as well. I will say they did offer me something else and they took it off of my bill but I could not eat anymore. I used to eat here a good bit. I went yesterday evening for my grandsons birthday dinner. My food was really bad. The cheese dip was the only decent thing. Burrito was not warm and had red sauce on it that was just bad! Chili rellano had this pastry crust on it that never had been that way before. Wasn't warm and tasted bad sauce on the side of the actual food very hot. I would have been better off with a frozen meal and not wasted over 60.00. Bean and rice not even good. I did tell the man at the register that my food was pretty bad. He asked me what it was and I told him and he said I'm sorry. That's it. I called in an order for two taco salads for our Saturday lunch. I do a lot of research before eating anywhere. Their food score was a 97% A which they had proudly displayed at the register. I had always been apprehensive about trying this place because they always looked like they were never busy when I drove by. The food was great! Fresh ingredients with not too much Cilantro, which I appreciated. Their prices are reasonable as well. This is a good Mexican restaurant. They gave us two different salsa's and chips when we sat down. The first Salsa was not spicy but it was warm and had a slight taste of some sort of bean dip and the other salsa was cold and spicy with chunks of tomatoes. The chips were good and warm. The margarita I got was huge and a great price of $6 and tasted delicious( not to sour and not sweet and good and strong). The hard taco,soft taco,beans and rice were all good ( tasted like all the other restaurants in the area). The poblano pepper was unique, ( they fry it in a batter put Queso all over the outside of it and then they bake it) it tasted good and had good flavor but the pepper cooked down to much and was very small so it ended up being mostly cheese,meat and breading but it was still good. The parking lot has lots of available spots and their was no wait when we walked in ( you seat yourself). The waiter was very nice, the service was quick and good and when we were done we were able to get the check right away( which is awesome when your kiddos start to get antsy).
