El Charro Mexican Restaurant - Mexican Near Me - Newnan, Georgia

Great food, Excellent price but kind of rude server. Went here for the first time today for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the flavor, price and speed of service. My server maybe was having a bad day or perhaps I look like someone that used to take his lunch money or stole his girlfriend. Regardless, I asked what the highlights of certain menu items meant as there was no legend and he actually acted mad at me for asking. It is probably the best Mexican food in Newman or Peachtree City so I'll be back. read more

El Charro Mexican Restaurant - Chicken and beef Chimichanga's - Mexican Near Me - Newnan, Georgia

There food is great but service is not the best but the interior is kind of nice and calm

One of our favorite places. Took our visiting family over Christmas and they loved it so much we went twice. Pleasant staff and reasonable prices. We have never gotten something here we didn't like. Beef nachos are my favorite but everything else is great! read more

Food was good but do not order a margarita. There was literally no alcohol in it and a pitcher cost over $20.

Food and service are excellent. Priced reasonably and Still my favorite Mexican restaurant.

Excellent, consistent food and service, plus it's affordable. I highly recommend giving them a try. read more

A buddy and I have always wanted to try this place so today we did. Very clean somewhat of an atmosphere. Service was good. The food unfortunately was not the greatest. If you live in Newnan, you know we do not lack Mexican restaurants we have tried them all, and this one was the worst food. lacking in flavor and any finesse. don't waste your time and money. read more

Very cheap prices but also very cheap quality of food. Good service, ambiance was ok.

I got food poisoning after eating Beef Enchiladas. Im Never going to this place to eat again. I was sick for 3 days. Restaurants should be shut down if they don't even know how to serve food that isn't contaminated. This is ridiculous. read more

Incredible service I wish I could give them more than 5 stars!! I came in ready to eat as soon as we got sat they brought us chips and salsa. It was fast service and the server even brought us refills without us having to ask. He also brought us to-go cups once we were done with our meals. The food tasted amazing the rice and beans were surprisingly my favorite part!! Definitely one of my favorites to go to!! I love eating here always good food and service. read more

Great food at great prices - my family orders almost weekly - and every time i am in town - So friendly and fast - AND orders always correct

I don't think I've ever been served an over-cooked and barely warm dish at the same time before so that is certainly an accomplishment here. The service was practically nonexistent, the seasoning was as well and the "fresh" tomatoes and peppers on my side were freezer burned to boot. My server never asked me how my meal was and didn't stop by the table until after my food was completely cold. I won't be back. read more

This was one of THE WORST meals I have ever eaten!!! Had a trio and the tosada was OK, the chalupa was inedible snd the classic chile relleno came as a dish of no flavor ground beef in cheese sauce...not even a chili pepper! Never going back. read more

First got sat at a dirty table, would have loved to have been greeted with joy and excitement to have guests... but Margarita's not good, shredded chicken was over cooked, very chewy, rice was over cooked and mushed together. Freshly made quac is amazing though! Server was not very engaged, quite reserved and didn't care to ask how our experience was. A bit disappointing. It was cheaper but not worth the savings for the service. read more

Small restaurant but the food was very good. Salsa was great as were both my wife and my meals. Beans were good not great and the only thing that didn't have me wanting more. Now we have three really good places for Mexican food in Newnan. We'll be back! read more

Great little spot. Ample parking, plenty of tables; seat yourself upon entering. Server was quick with two types of salsas one that was warmed and less spicy for the kids and a more spicy salsa for the grown ups. Margarita was large and delicious. Server stayed on top of everything and did a great job. Carne Asada was good, Chile rellano was also pretty good. Flavors and salsa seemed a bit bland for what I prefer was the only set back. The kids enjoyed their tacos and fries. read more

Mom and I stopped here on a road trip. Fast service, nice workers. Great food!! It's location was a little strange, but it's definitely worth it. I got a chicken quesadilla and some queso. Mom kept talking about the food for a week haha. read more

the best mexican food in newnan hands down !!! the employees always sweet as ever and works so hard.

I have been going to El Charro for years. It has always been my favorite restaurant...until recently. My most recent visit was horrible. I placed my order and they brought the wrong thing and then asked if it was ok for me to accept it. I said no and they brought out something similar to what I ordered but the portion size was so small and paltry that it did not justify the amount I was paying for it. Sooooo...I told my server I was leaving and didn't want what was sitting before me. I offered to pay for my iced tea, which was $3 and yes they charged me and took my money. The attitude that I received from the cashier (who knows me) was no apology, no empathy, nothing. I'm finished with El Charro. Yes, you have lost my business forever. I left El Charro and went right down the street to El Ranchero and received outstanding service, portions that are worth the price paid, and really good food. El Charro has been going downhill for while. read more

This is our go to Mexican restaurant in town for economy dining. It's not the best in town but is consistently good and the pricing is reasonable. read more

I must say, I was a little nervous to eat here because of the location and the outside doesn't look so hot, but - I was more than impressed! The interior is a little out-dated, but it was super-clean. The food was great! I was looking for a hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant, and I'm glad I found it! Great food, great prices...I am a local of Newnan and this will definitely be my go to Mexican food joint. Give this place a shot! I will say our waiter wasn't overly friendly, but he did make sure our chip bowl and drinks were full at all times and he brought us our food and check in a timely manner. I'd still go back. read more

Don't sleep on the chile relleno! It's the best. Great little restaurant with great prices. The family meals are a great deal and feed our family of four for about $20. Can't beat that. read more

This place is basically a terrible version of Tex mex. The steak was like canned dog food and the guacamole costs $3.75 extra and it's like they made it in a blender. There was no tomatoes or onions or anything to make the guacamole palatable. The salsa is definitely canned because it was a mouthful of salt. We were hoping the food would be better since it's not a chain restaurant but it's best suited for children and people who think Taco Bell is authentic Mexican food. Please save your $3.75 and go to chipotle or something. read more

I ordered the cheese quesadilla and t lunch taco salad. I have never had a problem with this place and I come here a lot and get the same thing ! But today when I got my food I took the first bite of my taco salad and I heard a crunch, it was a PIECE OF ICE !! Oh but it gets worse, THERE WAS PAPER AS WELL ! The meat was cold I'm guessing from the ice. But my thing is when I sent it back one of the ladies looked and said that it was straw paper from my straw. Um do you think I am going to eat paper ????? No. There was also chunks of paper in the salad as well. I will say they did offer me something else and they took it off of my bill but I could not eat anymore. Still wondering where paper and ice fell into my salad. read more

I used to eat here a good bit. I went yesterday evening for my grandsons birthday dinner. My food was really bad. The cheese dip was the only decent thing. Burrito was not warm and had red sauce on it that was just bad! Chili rellano had this pastry crust on it that never had been that way before. Wasn't warm and tasted bad sauce on the side of the actual food very hot. I would have been better off with a frozen meal and not wasted over 60.00. Bean and rice not even good. I did tell the man at the register that my food was pretty bad. He asked me what it was and I told him and he said I'm sorry. That's it. We will re do the birthday dinner tomorrow somewhere else and I will not ever be returning here. read more

This place is one of my favorite mexican food establishments in Newnan. The salsa is always on point and the food isn't to greasy like other places. I highly recommend giving them a shot if you are looking for some great food. read more

Best Mexican food in Newnan. The food is always fresh, hot and tasty. They have a big menu to choose from. I like the combo meals. The prices are very reasonable, not expensive at all. You can treat your family to good Mexican food without breaking the bank. Highly recommend! read more

Came in for lunch. Quick Service excellent chili rellenos. Lunch specials for five and a quarter can't beat it.

Don't let the obscure location fool you. The food here is higher quality than that big chain up the road. Service is good also. They could probably stand to update the interior a bit but for better food and way better prices I'll take a slightly dated look. read more

I called in an order for two taco salads for our Saturday lunch. I do a lot of research before eating anywhere. Their food score was a 97% A which they had proudly displayed at the register. I had always been apprehensive about trying this place because they always looked like they were never busy when I drove by. The food was great! Fresh ingredients with not too much Cilantro, which I appreciated. Their prices are reasonable as well. I will make this my go to place for Mexican fare and highly recommend trying them out. read more

This place is good authentic Mexican food at great prices. The food was good and the service was excellent. The chips and salsa were good, too. This place compares closest to our favorite restaurant in our home town. We will be going back. read more

This is a good Mexican restaurant. They gave us two different salsa's and chips when we sat down. The first Salsa was not spicy but it was warm and had a slight taste of some sort of bean dip and the other salsa was cold and spicy with chunks of tomatoes. The chips were good and warm. The margarita I got was huge and a great price of $6 and tasted delicious( not to sour and not sweet and good and strong). The hard taco, soft taco, beans and rice were all good ( tasted like all the other restaurants in the area). The poblano pepper was unique, ( they fry it in a batter put Queso all over the outside of it and then they bake it) it tasted good and had good flavor but the pepper cooked down to much and was very small so it ended up being mostly cheese, meat and breading but it was still good. The parking lot has lots of available spots and their was no wait when we walked in ( you seat yourself). The waiter was very nice, the service was quick and good and when we were done we were able to get the check right away( which is awesome when your kiddos start to get antsy). I would go here again. read more

Food was average. Just so so . Very friendly people. Our waiter was great. Very attentive.

Great food but don't use credit cards. Friends of my family were scammed they used thousands on there credit card. The food is good and it is quality for the price, you can even ask them to do something special and most of the time they will do it. Also has a bar section. Amazing salsa and tacos! read more

My favorite Mexican restaurant in town. Great food, prices and staff. Texas fajitas nachos are the best thing on the menu.

They had the best taquitos they were so good. They're service is greatest. They have great guacamole and they have great sauce it's mouth watering. The food comes in at least 15 minutes. read more

Of all the Mexican restaurants around, do yourself a favor and skip this one. Food was blah and falls in the any-other-Mexican-restaurant category. Margaritas taste like they came from a powder mix. Service seemed uninterested. Only reason they don't get 1* is because they are the only place in town with Carte Blanco beer. read more

The food was not very good. They had a food score of 81 and my wife's food was cold but plates were hot. We went during the lunch hour so it was not busy. The Texas fajita special fajitas were good but all other food was terrible. No one came back to offer us more tea and we were the first ones there at lunch. An hour later after we left my wife got sick to her stomach. If we would have checked the food score first we would have walked out. They also began to sweep the floor next us and we had to cover our food until she finished. Very unprofessional!! They were nice people but can not say anything nice about the business. read more
