The decor was colorful and none of it was particular stylish, but it works for a small downtown cafe. I did have a baby with a considerably large head staring me down with a judgy look, but they can't help that. I ordered the Mr.Cluck's Revenged based off the server's recommendation. Funny name since it's turkey. I looked it up and turkeys do in fact cluck, my bad. I wonder if Mr. Gobbles was considered, seeing it typed I understand why it wasn't. It's like Cheers, where everybody knows your name, but you need a reservation. The creative cocktails here are the brainchild of an amazing bartender named Sam who really knows her flavors. I had the privilege of visiting for my first time this evening and really enjoyed my experience. I use the word experience, because it was something very special. I am a solo traveler and I am often overlooked because I am not the target demographic. This place felt like home the moment I stepped in. I had two delightful drinks. The first was a bourbon based, fall special as it is close to Halloween. The second was Sam's riff on a Manhattan. Both had amazing flavor and were full of depth. With the crowds come noise - if you are looking for a quiet dinner, this is not the venue for you. I don't know if this was normal, but they also had a couple of separate birthdays being celebrated. Both involved a large sparkler-type thing and one involved the staff singing. I'm not complaining, just trying to describe the vibe. And, they have a robot that delivers some of the food. It seemed to have difficulty with navigating some of the aisles, so they may need to give up on it or reconfigure the seating. The menu was a departure from a standard Tex-Mex format. You could choose different meats for your tacos, etc. They had a variety of burritos and enchiladas. They also did offer a small set of combo meals - 2 tacos, rice, and beans. You could still choose alternate tacos for them. I went with that, while my wife opted for a 3-taco platter. We both liked the food and it tasted fresh. Prices seemed a bit higher than other Mexican places. I noticed that wine was $10 per glass also. You can definitely get a quality meal here, but for us it would be a longer drive to pay more for a similar meal that we could have in a quieter venue closer to home. It has its own small parking lot, but is also located amongst a maze of small business, a bowling alley, etc. so there should be other parking opportunities if needed. There is a bar area when you enter and IIRC there is a large dining room in the back. However, it was a nice day when we visited so we opted to sit out on their covered patio. Our server was attentive and stopped by when needed. The only minor issue was that their online menu had been more expansive than the one they were currently using (mostly brunch). There were still a variety of dishes, just not quite as many as we'd expected. I wasn't super hungry so I just got a salad. It was large so I didn't leave hungry. I looked at the wines but they seemed pricey, so I skipped that. My wife opted for a brunch platter (eggs / sausage / hashbrowns) and liked it. The food was good. Prices were mid-range. Even after driving there, something in me said this might not go well--but I decided not to judge a book by its cover. Upon entering, I was greeted nicely and the staff seemed diverse and friendly, so I felt comfortable staying. I ordered a Smashburger and clearly explained to my server that I know what a Smashburger is, but I needed my meat well done. Unfortunately, it seems that request went in one ear and out the other--either the server didn't communicate it or the kitchen didn't care to follow it. What I received was undercooked meat, and I do not eat raw burgers. This is completely unacceptable. I will never return to this location.
