My new favorite spot, the food is always good. The normal service people are great, friendly and fast. I love that they let little kids baseball or soccer teams come help to raise money. This is one of the nicest things I have seen a restaurant do. It's clean it's fun and the food is great

Home to my undeniably favorite spot of all time to eat salsa: El Tapatio in Sedalia, MO. Anytime I know that I'll be close to or in Sedalia, I MUST stop to get salsa...even if it's to go. Along with amazing salsa, El Tapitio serves fresh tortillas, tasty tacos loaded with fresh ingredients, delicious sizzling fajita entrees and more. We love the margarita flights...specifically the hibiscus margarita flavor! There is plenty of seating inside as well as on the patio. Service is always very quick and attentive. 10/10 recommend this spot!

Piece of metal that was in my rice.

SHARP METAL IN FOOD. PLEASE BE CAREFUL EATING HERE. My husband and I went to el tapatio for lunch and when I took a bite of the rice, a sharp piece of metal shot into my cheek and chipped my tooth. I told my waiter there was metal in my rice and he went and got the manager. The manager then took the metal, agreed that it was metal, and apologized and walked away like it was no big deal. My server also acted like it was no big deal even when we told him we didn't want the food and were leaving. My husband and I did not eat any more of the food and had barely eaten any of it before eating metal, but they still had us pay for the entire meal and drinks that we didn't eat or drink BECAUSE THERE WAS METAL THAT WAS IN MY FOOD . Thank god I didn't swallow it but it chipped my tooth and I had to go get that fixed. You'd think the least they could do after serving me a sharp piece of metal that caused injury would be for us to not have to pay for the meal that we didn't eat because my mouth was bleeding from the metal. Absolutely insane.

Jumbo margarita without tequila. Someone doesn't know how to make them. Usually very good.

Went thru drive thru. Food tasted ok as always. Got ripped off from buying the jumbo margarita to go. At best it was 3/4 full and I'm pretty sure they forgot the tequila. Called to complain and I got an "I'm sorry". Probably won't be back.

I am "that guy" that usually gives bad reviews. I am highly critical. But in this case, these guys hit a homerun. Food is the most important, and it was fantastic. Homemade tortillas, homemade desserts, all of it. Fantastic. Service is also important, they went out of their way to please. Environment? It's super clean, it's well lit, and music is not so loud that you can't have a conversation. THANK YOU. I think a blow job is the only thing that could've made this experience any better. Five stars. Highly recommend.

The enchiladas were a bit dry. The drinks were enjoyable, though. The service was average. The atmosphere was lively.

They are jumbo size, they are cooked to perfection and they have an amazing flavor. Really caught me off guard, I will be going here any time I have a wing craving. Also, I just love their chile colorado, for anyone who hasn't tried this dish and loves chili, give it a try; it has a touch of kick to it and the beans/rice with the chili (steak bits) is just perfect comfort food. Fajita nachos were standard tex-mex, not bad though. The service was good. The place looked clean.

It is a small restaurant (possibly a converted fast food place) that has been modified and decorated to fit the part. The bar area consists of horse saddles for bar stools which was a nice feature. The night I went there was (I believe) only one waitress who was hustling. I was seated and quickly brought chips and salsa. The salsa had a slight hint of heat and the chips were pretty good. I usually order a combo plate when at a new place. I found them near the back of a very extensive menu. Instead of picking from a list of items they gave each possible combination spelled out. I was hoping for a taco, enchilada and rellano combo but rellanos are not included in the combos. I went with a taco, 2 enchiladas and rice. Apparently these only come ground beef. I tried to get carnitas for my tacos and ended up with a side dish of tacos. In the end the food tasted good. My margarita seemed heavy on the mix and easy on the tequila. In the end this was fine for small town Mexican. I would have rated it higher had the combo portion of my dinner not been the standard ground beef.

At first, I felt like the flavor was a bit lacking overall, but I quickly realized that most of the items seemed more like "add salt to taste." The place itself was super small and had a home-like feel. It's located in a smaller city with a mostly Hispanic and white population, so I can understand the flavor palate they may be cooking for. Overall, I would come back since it seems to be the only place in the area with decent tacos. The family that owns it was very nice, and the service was great. The pozole and salsa macha they had was super good. I'd come back just for that. If you're confused with all the clutter that how stores are in Mexico. It came with the caramelized onions as requested, on the side, but in the same wrapper as the tongue taco. The tongue was in little squares and was so incredibly tender and flavorful. I don't know that the onions were actually caramelized, but they were very well grilled and pretty perfect. But, holy moly, the torta! I got the Asada Torta, and it was not ground beef nor sliced, but little tiny pieces of chopped beef (excellent!). The sandwich was layered with mayonnaise, refried beans, lettuce and tomato, cheese, fresh avocado slices, and grilled jalapeños (or maybe pickled? They were real, and large slices, but they were not burning hot like a fresh-cut one would be. Or maybe I just got lucky, ha ha). Holy cow! I will say that I have never had a torta from a Mexican restaurant before, so this is my first, and it was fantastic - I was told it would be 10 to 15 minutes (I was sitting in my car in the parking lot when I ordered), and less than 10 minutes later a nice young man (wearing a mask, yay!) brought my order out to me, which I did not expect, but really appreciated! Each dish was in its own neatly wrapped aluminum foil, then in a brown paper bag. No Styrofoam, thank you very much! I got utensils and lots of napkins, and I needed all of them! Good stuff!
